Sophia's POV

I have never felt so alone. In all my years on this earth, I have always had at least one of brothers with me. Now, I have neither. Damon is gone. I don't know whether he is gone forever, but he is not here now and hasn't been since the other side went down. Stefan is gone. He was supposed to be looking for a way to try and bring Damon back, but he is living his own life with a new girlfriend, not giving Damon or I a second thought.

Rik is still hanging around, trying his best to be like an older brother to me but it's just not the same. I miss my brothers, both of them! All I want is both of them back in my life, I don't even care if they are bossy, overprotective and overbearing at times, I would do anything to have them here with me.

Everyone else, Elena, Jeremy, Caroline, Enzo... they all seem to be just getting on with their lives, not that I blame them, but I just can't do it. Maybe Stefan had the right idea... Leaving. Getting away from it all. Starting a fresh. Maybe that will help me come to terms with my new life.

I know Rik won't like the idea of me going off alone, so I will have to just leave. No goodbyes. No thank yous. No well wishes. The thought of leaving him behind makes a stabbing feeling in my heart, yet it is what I have to do. It's not fair on him to have to put up with me under some obligation to Damon. It's fine for him to move on with his own life without having to take care of me.

With my essentials packed, Damon's credit card in my pocket and a few keepsakes for when I feel down, I make my way to the airport in a cab, silently saying goodbye to all the friends that I have made and the place I have called home for the last few years.

The earliest flight available is to Washington, so I buy myself a ticket and wait to be called.

Stepping out of the airport in Washington, I breathe a heavy sigh. With nowhere to go and no plans I have made, I google search for a hotel close by so I can consider my options, what my next steps are going to be. My only previous thoughts was to get away, now it's time to make some plans.

I book myself in to The White House Suites. It's nice, but very big. Too big for just me. Even though my flight was only short, I feel exhausted. More mentally than anything else, but I still need a rest. I quickly fall asleep on the super king size bed.

I wake up feeling refreshed. I still feel a great sense of depression, but at least I am well rested. I lay still, considering my options. Retrieving my phone so I can plan my next move, I see missed calls and messages off Rik. There is also a couple off Elena and Caroline but I don't even pay them any thought. It is Rik's ones I bother with.

After listening to the voicemails and read the text, it's pretty much what I expected. Him demanding to know where I am. What I am playing at. All of that shit. I flight mode my phone and connect to the hotels wifi.

Unsure of what to search, I Googled the worst place in Washington to live. A place called Forks appeared on my screen. It's a small town, not many people. Known to be the wettest place in the continental US. It sounds the way I feel. Miserable. It seems perfect for me right now.

A few hours later I arrive in Forks. It's exactly as I imagined it would be. Cold. Wet. Dreary. Perfect. I quickly search for a hotel near by whilst I figure out what I plan on doing.

I've spent the last 2 days looking for a more permanent place to live. I found a cute little apartment and compelled the landlord to rent it to me. It's got 2 bedrooms, a good size living room and kitchen and the bathroom is small but it's good enough for me.

I made the decision to enrol in the local high school. I know what you're thinking, high school is the worst, but it's a bit of normality and I really need that right now. It's what I have always done when moving to a new place with my brothers. It seems like the right thing to do for now.

It's the start of a new year, so I won't be starting late, having that awkward first day. After compelling the receptionist I am finally given my timetable and a locker to put my things in.

During lunch, I notice that the place is like every other school I have been to. Cliques everywhere. I haven't bothered even trying to make friends as I don't want any. I don't need to get close to people who I will eventually never see again when it's time for me to move on.

Looking around the canteen, I notice a group of 5 older looking kids who look so strange. They are very pale and they all have golden eyes. It's creepy but they fascinate me as I have never seen anyone like them before.

Four of them seem to be paired up together - a blonde girl with a beefy looking, dark haired boy. And a small, pixie looking girl with a short, blonde haired boy - and the one male who isn't, can't seem to keep his eyes off a girl sitting with another group of kids. I notice that she too can't help but stare at him. Love at first sight?

The rest of the day was uneventful, typical, boring school life. The last bell rings and all the kids jump from their seats and rush out of the classroom, making their way to the exit. I follow slowly, not having anything to hurry back for.

Once in the car park, I notice the strange kids standing around a parked car I assume belongs to them. The boy is once again staring at the girl from the canteen. He is now giving me creepy vibes.

I keep him in my peripheral vision as I make my way across the car park. My attention only diverts from him when I hear screeching coming from a car across the lot. I look just in time to see the girl 'creepy guy' keeps staring at about to be crushed by the out of control truck.

I am halted in my tracks by what I witness. With my vampire abilities, I clearly see 'creepy guy' running in inhuman speed and stop the truck from crushing the girl. He disappears before anyone else notices. I glance back to the rest of his group and they all look pissed!

I quickly recount what I have just seen. They're obviously some kind of supernatural beings. I just don't know what kind. I decide to follow them so I can see where they live. I have to find out what they are.

Luckily for me, there is woods everywhere, so it's not difficult for me to follow them and not be seen running at vampire speed to keep up with them.

I follow them to the middle of the woods, to a massive house with glass walls. It is very pretty. I watch as the car pulls in to the garage and creepy guy gets out and transfers to a black car and speeds away.

I stick around for a little while, straining my hearing to find out what is getting said. It's no use though, I can hear voices but I can't make out what they're saying. I decide to sneak up closer to the house, then maybe I will hear them better.

I am now roughly 50 yards from the house and I can hear so much better. I step forward, not seeing the branch at my feet and it suddenly snaps, making a loud crunching sound. The voices in the house stop instantly. Shit! What am I going to do now?

I remain still, hoping and preying that them stopping speaking is a coincidence and that they didn't hear me creeping around out here. After 60 seconds of silence, I take off, not wanting to risk being caught.

I sneak off, remaining in human speed, back in the direction I came from, only stopping when I am far enough away from the house. I was so distracted by my own thoughts, I didn't hear anyone approach until I am grabbed from behind.

I freeze, adamant that I am about to die. The worst thing is, I don't even fight it. I accept it.

"Who are you and what are you doing out here?" A male voice asks me.

"I-I was just walking," I reply, not wanting to give myself away.

The arms that hold me loosen and I take a step away from them.

"You're a vampire?" The same voice asks me.

"What the.." I turn around and come face-to-face with creepy guy. A shiver runs down my spine.

I don't know what to say to him. I feel his eyes looking straight through me. His head is tilted to the side like a puppy dog when they can't understand where a sound is coming from and they're trying to figure it out.

"How do you know that?" I ask him. He snaps out of his trance like state and looks in to my eyes.

"I can read you thoughts." He tells me, very nonchalantly. I new he was creepy, but I didn't think he was this creepy!

I quickly run through my options as I don't want him telling anyone about me. I wonder if this guy can be compelled. There will be no harm in trying.

I lean closer to him, keeping eye contact and attempt to compel him.

"Forget that you know I am a vampire and you can no longer hear my thoughts." I wait a couple of seconds before speaking to him again. "Can you read my mind?"

"What? No, I can't?!" He seems perplexed.

I let out a sigh of relief. At least I know they can be compelled. I once again compel him.

"Answer my questions honestly," he nods his head at my instruction. "What are you?"

"I'm a vampire." He answers. I am gobsmacked. I did not expect him to say that. I have never seen a vampire that looked like him. This can't be right?!

"EDWARD!" A female voice behind me screeches. I turn at human speed and see an older woman, probably mid to late twenties, same complexion and eyes as the others, standing there. What is going on?" She demands in a motherly tone.

The boy - Edwards apparently - is stunned to silence momentarily.

"I-I don't really know?" He eventually says, looking confused as hell.

Both pairs of eyes on fixed on me. I feel panic rise within me. A sudden wave of calm flows over me and I hear more footsteps come towards me. The blonde boy and pixie girl are coming in to view. I'm screwed now - I'll never get away from all of them.

"Hi there," the pixie girl says, her voice matching her frame. "I'm Alice." She holds out her small hand to shake mine. This is so weird!

"I'm Sophia," I return the gesture, quickly pulling my hand back at the iciness of her touch.

She smiles broadly at me, which has the opposite effect of what she was probably meaning.

"Come with us," she says while linking her arm through one of mine. I remain where I am, not wanting to go anywhere with them.

"It's ok, we won't hurt you," she tells me when she realises that I am not moving. Yeah, coz that's not what every serial killer has said to their victims!

"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just gonna... go" I tell her, turning in the opposite direction.

"I think it best if you do as she asks," a male voice says from behind me, their hands on my shoulders and giving me a slight nudge in the direction of the house I just ran from.

In less time that I would like, I find myself sitting on a sofa in a house full of a different kind of vampire to myself. I am not going to lie, I am shitting myself right now!

Everyone keeps having hushed conversations, thinking I can't hear them, but I have no problem with my hearing. Apparently we are waiting on someone called Carlisle as he will know what to do?

Almost two hours of unanswered questions and fake politeness later, a blonde man comes walking up the stairs into the living room we all currently occupy.

"Hi there, my names Carlisle." He offers his hand out for me to shake, the same way Alice did. Again, I returned the gesture. His skin is ice cold, also like Alice's. They are literally like living corpses.

"Esme, would you get our guest a drink?" He asks, turning his attention to the older woman. All eyes turn to me as I scoff out loud at the term 'guest'. I feel more like a kidnap victim. After quickly looking at everyone in the room, I turn my attention to my thumb nails, cleaning out the nonexistent dirt underneath them.

"What would you like to drink, sweetheart?" Esme offers with a smile. I am taken aback by the kindness in her eyes.

"Oh, um... anything will do," I reply. She leaves and comes back with a single soda and a glass.

I thank her but feel uncomfortable being the only one drinking, so I leave it untouched on the coffee table in front of me

"Would you mind if I ask you a couple of questions?" Carlisle asks, a kind smile on his face.

"I guess not," I also shrug my shoulders. He takes a seat on the other end of the sofa to me.

C - "I know your name is Sophia, but how old are you?"

S - "19."

C - "Where are your parents?"

S - "They're dead." I see a look of sympathy cross his face.

C - "So who do you live with?"

S - "My brothers, why?" I don't like where this is going.

C - "I am just trying to find out why a young girl such as yourself is all the way out here so late in to the evening."

S - "Like I said, I'm 19. Old enough to go where I want, when I want." There is a bit of attitude in my voice as I am already fed up with the questions.

I take a couple of breaths to calm myself down as the last thing I want to do right now is piss off these people.

"Look, I'm just gonna go, ok?" I stand up to leave but I am stopped by a freezing cold hand on my my arm.

"Please, sit back down. We can not let you leave just now," Carlisle instructs.

My guard is immediately up.

"What? why not? Because I know you're all vampires? I won't say anything to anyone. I promise! I just want to go home. I'm hungry and I'm tired."

Another sympathetic glance from Carlisle and also Esme this time. There is silence for a few moments before Esme responds.

"Would you like for me to cook you something to eat?" She is so motherly, I can't wrap my head around it.

"No thanks, I just want to go home."

"That's not possible just yet, sweetheart," Carlisle interjects. This does not look good for me.

I hear a whispered conversation coming from another room. It's sounds like Edward and who I now know is Jasper.

"Why d'ya tell her what we are?"

"I don't know. I couldn't help myself."

"Well, can you read her mind? What is she thinking?"

"No, I can't. I don't get it? I have never had this happen before, now it's happened twice in one day!"

I zone out as I hear my name being said.

"Huh?"

"Esme asked if you would like to lay down for a while whilst she cooks you something to eat?"

"Doesn't look like a have a choice really, does it? I mean, you've already said I can't leave!" The attitude returns in my tone of voice, but I think it is warranted considering.

I spin myself around and put my feet up on their sofa as I pretend to go to sleep. At least this way, I can plan a way to escape in peace. After a couple of minutes, I feel my shoes being slipped off my feet and a blanket being placed on top of me. Unfortunately for me, I actually fall asleep.

Carlisle's POV

I watch young Sophia until I hear her breathing getting shallow, signifying that she is actually asleep, before turning to my family.

"How exactly did this happen?" I ask my children, neither one in particular. They all look between one another, before Emmett speaks.

"It's all Eddie's fault! She must have seen him when he saved that girl from getting squished by that truck!"

I already know of the incident, but was not told that he had been seen. This changes things. We might have to pack up and leave Forks now, which I know will upset my wife as we have only just moved back and I know it's her favourite place to be.

"Explain," I demand to Edward, wanting to know his reasoning for risking our family to save Bella Swan.

"I just, I didn't think. All I know is that I couldn't let her die, Carlisle." Edward tells me. "There is something about her. Her blood, it appeals to me. I have never smelt nothing like it."

I consider his words carefully before I reply.

"Go for a hunt, Edward. I can see that it is needed. Jasper, go with him please." I instruct them both. They leave without me having to tell them again.

I turn my attention to my beautiful wife.

"What are we going to do, Esme?"

"I'm not sure my love, but she is just a child. What can we do?"

We both stand together and watch her sleeping peacefully on our sofa. She looks so young and innocent, I have my doubts that she is not the age she told me. It is obvious that we will not take her life, but we need to consider what is going to happen next.

Esme and I decide to let the child sleep for as long as possible. It will give us more time to think of our next move.

I send Alice and Rosalie to gather as much information they can about the girl and her family. They come back not long after to let me know that they have found out that she actually lives alone in an apartment not far from the school.

It is almost 2am when Sophia begins to stir. My wife and I take a seat close by for when she wakes up properly. It's not long after that she sits up and groans out loud.

"Shit! I thought it was all a dream!" She states. I cringe internally when I hear her cussing as it is one of the things that I detest - especially from children.

"Sophia, sweetheart, please don't cuss," I ask her politely.

"Oh, er sorry!" She looks genuinely remorseful. This pleases me.

Esme gets up and heads towards the kitchen and quickly returns with a soda and a sandwich before placing them down in front of Sophia.

"Here you go sweetheart, a little snack because I know you're hungry." My wife has such a big heart.

"Is no one else eating or drinking?" Sophia asks, staring between my wife and I.

"We don't consume human food as our bodies do not tolerate it. Plus, it does not taste very nice to us."

There is a small silence as she thinks over what I said.

"Oh. Well, thanks?" Sophia replies, yet she makes no attempt to take either. I understand why, so I don't push the subject.

"Sophia, I know you said that you live with your brothers, but we have discovered that that was a lie. You currently live alone. May I ask why you lied to us?" I questioned her.

"What? How do you know that I live alone?" She looks shocked at my finding this out.

"That is not the point, little one. Please, answer my question."

I can see her thinking about what to tell me. Probably contemplating whether to lie to me again. I will know if she does as I have lived with five teenagers for a long time and I have come to know when they are lying to me.

"I just thought that if you think there is someone waiting for me, you would let me go. Now you know there is no one, what is stopping you from killing me?" I can tell she answered honestly. I am surprised yet glad that she did so.

"We are vampires, yet we never take human life. We live on a diet of animal blood," I tell her to put her mind at ease. A knowing look crosses her face, one that I can not understand. It confuses me.

"Oh, okay. Well that's good." She says in earnest.

Sophia's POV

I am so glad they told me that. They're just like Stefan. Poor bastards. Animal blood is vile! I am seriously considering telling them what I am, at least then they might just let me go?

"Why does that bit of information not shock you?" Carlisle asks me, breaking me from my reverie. I decide to just tell them the truth. No harm in that, is there? At least I hope not.

"You're not the first vampires I know that sustain themselves on this type of diet," I confess.

The others come and join us in the room, all five of them. They have probably been listening to our conversation and have come down out of curiosity. I pay them no attention.

"Is that true? Who else do you know who feeds the same way as us?" The big guy, Emmett asks.

"My brother!"

The shocked expressions that crosses everyone's face is kinda funny. That was probably the last thing they expected me to say.

"Your brother is a vampire?" Esme asks, holding her hand over her heart.

"Yes. They both are. So am I!" I admit to them all.

"Pft! She is lyin'!" Jasper blurts out, breaking the silence that had befallen us. "It is obvious. Just look at her.

"No I am fucking not, don't call me a fucking liar DICK!" I yell, pissed that he would accuse me when I am telling the truth.

I jump to my feet, taking a few steps forward before I am stopped by the coffee table in front of me. "You don't know Jack shit about me!" I tell him, feeling anger rise within me.

I hear a growl resonating from deep with him, the look on his face reminds me of a very pissed off looking Damon. I subconsciously step back, my hands reaching back to cover my bottom.

"Jasper, stand down," I hear Carlisle tell him. He then turns his attention towards me. I quickly move my hands when I realise their position and sit back down on the sofa.

Carlisle comes closer to me, sitting down next to me.

"I have met many of vampires in my years, but never one that looks like you." Is he calling me a liar too? I officially hate them all! It looks like I will have to prove it to them, doesn't it?

I shake my head at Carlisle before kicking the coffee table across the room, aiming it towards Jasper. He ducks just in time to stop it hitting him on the head. I smirk proudly. I then turn my attention back to Carlisle, showing my vampire face, exposing my fangs to him. They cannot deny it now!

Carlisle's POV

To my utter shock, the child is telling the truth. But she is not like our kind. She is a different species of vampire altogether. I struggle to think of what to say as this is so unusual to me.

"So you believe me now?" She asks me, arrogance clear in her tone. I nod my head as I am still finding it hard to form the correct words. Once the initial shock has worn off, I see my son charge at her. I stand up protectively and defend the child, telling Emmett and Edward to control Jasper. They obey and get a firm grip on their brother.

"LET GO OF ME NOW!" Jasper roars, "THAT LITTLE WENCH DESERVES A WHIPPIN' AND IM GON' GIVE 'ER ONE!"

I can see complete terror in the child's eyes.

"Jasper, calm down this instant. Control yourself or leave the room."

"Sir, I respect what you're sayin' but I'll not allow that child t' get away with disrespectin' me like tha!" Jasper says through gritted teeth.

"I said leave, Jasper. That is an order!" He let out a frustrated growl before immediately heading towards the stairs, that lead to the front door, as he knows he must obey my orders.

I keep a close eye on him, yet I can feel Sophia standing up behind me.

"Bye Jazzy..." I look at her and see her wiggling her fingers and smirking at Jasper as he leaves. I know her aim it to wind Jasper up even more than he already is.

I give the child my full attention now. Getting a firm grip on her right upper arm, I turn her to the side and land 6 swats to her unprepared bottom. The squeal that escapes her mouth satisfies Jasper.

Sophia's POV

"ARGHHH! What the fuck?" I scream as my ass begins to burn. I am granted with another six stinging swats. I scream once more, trying to rub the sting out of my butt.

"Stop cussing, Sophia!" Carlisle warns me. It falls on deff ears.

"Get the fuck off me!" I try to prise his fingers off my arm when I get another six swats. "AAAHHAHOWW! WILL YOU STOP HITTING ME?" I yell at him. I hear Jasper laugh which just incenses me!

Like always, I let my temper get the best of me. My fear of Jasper is replaced by anger aimed at him. I shove Carlisle to the side as hard as I can, sending him flying over the back of the sofa. He lets go of my arm to protect himself as he lands. I vampire speed towards Jasper, planning on kicking him in his stupid head.

Everything seemed to happen so quick. One minute I am flying through the air, doing my best Bruce Lee impression, the next I am face down over Jaspers raised lap getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter. I don't know how the fuck I got here?!

"AAARRGGHH! STOOOP! P-LEEEEASE STOOOP!" I beg. It feels like I am being hit with a marble paddle. Smack after smack is raining down on my poor bottom. The only thing I can do is reach out for the step underneath me for support as my body just dangles either side of Jaspers thigh.

I am quickly reaching my limit as any attempt I make to get off of his lap are futile. His smacks are hard and fast and I can not form any coherent words. In real time, it has probably only been about 30 seconds, but to my broken ass, it feels so much longer.

"I-I-I'm I'm S-S-Sor-SORREEEEE!" I manage to scream out before I feel myself being pulled off his lap in to the arms of someone else. Through my blurred vision, I can just about make out Esme. She holds me close as I continue to cry.

"Jasper. My study. Now!" I hear Carlisle's calm and collected voice command. I hear no verbal reply, but the sound of a retreating form making their way up the stairs.

Before I am really ready, I pull away from Esme as I am not comfortable being in her arms. I hide my tear stained face in the crook of my arm, wiping it with the sleeve of my jacket. I feel absolutely mortified. You would think I would be used to spankings by now, but that was something else!

I can feel a lot of eyes staring at me. I don't want to look at them, but I know I will have to at some point, so I bite the bullet and raise my head. I was right. Everyone in the room is looking at me.

Once I am sure that my breathing is under control, I turn my attention back to Carlisle.

"May I g-go now please?" I hiccough escaping my lips.

"I'm afraid not, sweetheart. I'm going to have to speak to your brothers first." He informs me.

"Yeah, good luck with that!" I retort.

There is an awkward silence as he considers my words.

"What, may I ask, do you mean by that?" He questions.

"Well, Damon is dead. He was on the other side, but that's gone. And Stefan... well he's just gone. Left. Living his own life somewhere else. So, as you can see, it's just me. So now can I leave?"

Carlisle and Esme exchange looks. The others just watch, offering no input to the situation.

"How old are you?" Carlisle asks, changing the subject.

"I've already told you. 19!" I reply.

"I know that is what you said, but I don't believe that. How old are you?"

"19!"

"Please don't lie to me, Sophia. How old are you really?" He tries again.

"Okay, I'm 16! What difference does that make?" I ask.

With another quick exchange of looks, he answers me.

"It makes a big difference. You are only a child. I do not feel comfortable letting you go off on your own." Carlisle explains.

"Are you serious? Please tell me he is joking?" I ask, turning towards Esme. She shakes her head at me solemnly. "Just kill me then, because I am NOT staying here!"

I know I am being slightly dramatic about wanting to die, but I don't want to be forced to stay here with these people. I don't even know them for gods sake! I flop down on the sofa and immediately squeal, jumping back to my feet as the fire in my ass is instantly reignited. I notice Edward let out a small smirk. Dick!

"Look, if you're going to kidnap me, hold me against my will, I am going to need blood. Unlike you lot, I don't drink Bambi!" I hope they get my meaning.

"We cannot allow you to kill a human," Carlisle's tells me.

"I don't drink FROM humans. I haven't for many years. I'd rather die than take a human life. I drink from blood bags." Carlisle looks surprised at my admission.

"I shall have to get some for you from the hospital, but I won't be able to get them until tomorrow. Is that ok with you?" He offers.

"Do I have a choice?" I counter. "If I don't drink blood semi-regularly, I will desiccate. Tomorrow should be fine though."

I yawn involuntarily. Why do I always feel so tired after a spanking? It's weird!

"Would you like to go and rest in our bed?" Esme asks me.

"Um, yeah, I guess so." I give up. I'm tired. I'm hurting. I can't have any blood until tomorrow to help me heal some. I might as well sleep until I get some.

Esme leads me up 2 flights of stairs, stopping in front of a closed door. Opening it, I step inside. It is beautiful in here. Very modern with a huge bed - even bigger than the one in the hotel.

I gingerly walk over towards the bed, sneaking a peak at the rest of the room. It is the exact opposite to my home. I love it! I didn't notice Esme move, but she holds out a pair of pyjamas for me to take. I take them gratefully, smiling at her. She seems really nice and I don't want to offend her.

"You can get changed in here," Esme points to her en-suite.

"Um, thanks." I smile again and make my way inside to get changed. I wash my face as well, to get rid of the tear stains covering it. Going back in to the bedroom, I awkwardly stand by the door. It feels so strange to be in someone else's house like this, never mind getting in to their bed!

I do as I am told, too tired to resist. The bed is even more comfortable than Damon's! I get into a comfortable position, on my side of course. I feel my eyelids already starting to close.

I don't know how long I slept, but I woke up to the unmistakable sound of a spanking taking place. I know I shouldn't, as it is none of my business, but I follow the sound. It brings me to a closed door on the same floor that I am already on. I stand still, listening to the voices on the other side of the door.

I hear Carlisle reprimanding someone in between swats. Telling him that he is not to disobey a direct order again. It doesn't take a genius to work out who else was in there. Jasper. He was getting a spanking for what happened with me downstairs.

I should be pleased but I am not. I feel kinda guilty as I know it was my fault. I caused him to be angry. Without thinking, I barged in to the room, racing over to Carlisle. I tried not to look at Jaspers bare bottom on show as he bent over a large, mahogany desk.

Carlisle stepped back and Jasper immediately stood up and pulled up his underwear and pants. He looked outraged. I assume it is because I seen him in that predicament. I didn't care. I moved so I was standing in between the pair of them.

"Carlisle, please don't do that? It wasn't his fault!" I plead, guilt laying heavy on me.

"What?" Jasper asks, confused. I turn to face him.

"I'm sorry, Jasper. I shouldn't have wound you up like that." Jasper looks astonished.

"Sophia, please leave this instant. This has nothing to do with you." Carlisle instructs, sounding slightly peeved that I would intervene.

"Yes it has, so leave him alone!" I demand. "If you want to punish someone, punish me!" What the fuck am I saying??

Both of them are dumbstruck. Myself included. I don't want another spanking, especially from him, yet I can't help myself. It feels wrong to stand by and let Jasper be punished for something I did!

Carlisle's POV

I am completely speechless. The last thing I expected to happen was for young Sophia to come to Jasper's defence. Although I am not best pleased at her having interrupted me, I am surprised at her reasoning.

Jasper too seems to be in shock, for he is looking at Sophia with complete puzzlement. At least I am not the only one.

"I don't understand your feelings?" Jasper eventually says to Sophia.

"Huh? What do you mean?" She replies to him. I stay quiet as I want to see where this goes.

"Explain it to me?" He asks.

"Explain what? I don't know what you mean?" I have a feeling, but I'm not positive.

"Tell me why you are scared and angry? I don't understand it?" My empath son knows exactly what Sophia is feeling, even if she doesn't.

Sophia also seems confused now, as she just shakes her head at him, probably now knowing how to answer.

"Tell me!" Jasper demands.

"I am scared because I don't want him," she points her thumb in my direction, "to hit me and angry because he is hitting you!"

My sons confusion is evident. I want to see something, so signal to Jasper to not get involved.

"Okay Sophia, if you feel Jasper's punishment is undeserved and you want to take it instead, please bend over the desk.

My sons eyes narrow as he concentrates on the child. I'm no empath, but even I know that she is scared right now. After a few deep breaths, I watch as she slowly lowers herself over my desk, stretching her arms out in front of her. I admire this kid. She is very brave.

I place my left hand on the small of her back, moving to her side to position myself as if I were to spank her, yet she doesn't move. Her breath is shaky, but she still refuses to move.

"Are you ready, Sophia?" I ask her, keeping up the pretence. I see Jasper move closer to us, probably to stop me, but one look from me stops him in his tracks.

"Y-yes sir," she chokes out. I can tell that this child is used to being in this position by the way she is acting right now.

I wait another couple of seconds before backing away. I watch closely for her reaction when she realises that I am no longer next to her. She collects herself before standing up and looking my way.

"What?" She asks, looking as confused as we did when she first came in.

"I am not going to spank you, Sophia," I tell her. "I just wanted to see if you was being serious."

"You're a dick, do you know that?" I resist the urge to push her back over the desk an spank her for that remark.

Sophia's POV

What type of game is this guy playing? Does he think that was funny? Well it wasn't!

"So are you going to leave him alone, or what?" I demand to know, " because I am not leaving here until he does! I nod in Jaspers direction.

Carlisle let's put a disbelieving puff of air, quickly followed by a smile.

"You both may leave." He turns to his side, holding his arm in the direction of the door.

I look to Jasper as he remains in the same spot like a freaking statue. I wait, but when it becomes obvious that he isn't going to move on his own, I get a grip of his arm and pull him along with me. The second we are clear of the door, I close it behind us.

"I'm sorry, okay?" I say to Jasper as I walk back toward the room I vacated earlier. Alice quickly passes me, running into Jaspers arms, she stops for a second to thank me.

"Wait!" Jasper calls, stopping me mid step. "I need to know why you did that?"

"I already told you. It was my fault you was in there."

I continue on my way, then I hear footsteps following me. They don't stop until they're in the room with me.

"But I whipped you. Harshly." Jasper spoke again. What's with this guy?

"I know that! I deserved it. I should never have pushed you to that point. I apologise."

I make my way back to the bed, crawling across it to make sure my butt doesn't come in to contact with anything. It is so painful, it's not right?

"I don't understand. I punished you and you stood up for me when I was getting punished?"

"Oh my god, yes! So? What don't you understand?" I am starting to get frustrated with him now. "Can you just go now?"

They don't leave. They don't even move. What the hell is up with these two? I can feel myself getting irritated by the pair of them. Without thinking, I sit up, ready to tell them to just do one, but the feel of my butt coming in to contact with the bed and my own weight on top of it has me howling out in pain. Something is definitely not right!

Tears begin to stream down my face as Alice rushes over to me.

"Sophia, let me see..." she motions to my ass.

"What? No way! Eww! You're not looking at my butt!" I deny her. This girl is crazy!

After another minute, I reconsider as the throbbing sensation is not passing.

"Okay. But not with him looking." I nod to Jasper.

"Jasper, please turn around." He does as she says in an instant.

Alice joins me on the bed before slowly lowering the pants that I am wearing. The gasp that escapes her mouth is unmistakable.

"CARLISLE." She yells. I jump up, just in time to prevent Jasper from seeing my naked ass. Carlisle comes speeding in to the room.

"What is it, Alice? What is wrong?" He sounds panicked, not stopping until he is directly in front of her. I back myself away to the other side of the room.

"It's Sophia bottom. You need to see it." She tells him.

What is she saying? There is no way I am letting him see my butt. It was bad enough letting her! His attention turns to me.

"Sophia, may I see it?" He slowly closes the gap I put between us.

"Hell no. Don't be daft." I shake my head to emphasise my words.

"Sophia, sweetheart. I am a doctor. I just want to check you over." Yeah, doctor death!

"Nah, I'm good." I protest. "I'm fine, honestly. It's nothing."

"Alice?" He turns back to her to get an explanation.

Alice look horrified as she tells him what she saw.

"It's all bruised. It's purple and black. All over. It's horrible Carlisle."

"Sophia, please. I am begging you. Just let me take a look and assess the damage."

"I said no, Carlisle. I don't want you to." My voice came out small, uncertain. "I just need some blood and it will be okay."

This is so embarrassing! I don't want some random guy staring at my ass. It's just not right. Carlisle doesn't seem to want to give up, though.

"Sophia, I'm afraid I cannot take no for an answer. I have to see what damage has been done." He is so adamant.

It was at this point that Esme entered the room.

"Sweetheart, please allow Carlisle to check you over. He is a doctor and he just wants to make sure you are alright." Why am I finding it hard to say no to this lady? I barely know her but the thought of upsetting her upsets me.

"Okay. Only if you stay with me?" I negotiate.

"Of course I will, baby." She accepts, pulling me in for an embrace. Oddly, I accept and hug her back.

"Okay, Sophia. Please lay on the bed." Carlisle instructs me. I gingerly make my way over, holding on to Esme, resting my head in her lap as I laid down. I cringe as I feel Carlisle's cold fingers hooking on the my pants and slowly pulling them down.

"Oh, sweet baby!" I hear Esme exclaim. There is another gasp in the room, coming from over by the door. I quickly turn my head and see Jasper. He has seen my naked butt. I groan out loud. Could this night get any worse?

"Jasper, go to my car and get my medical bag. Alice, get a cold compress." They both do as they are told, vamping back in seconds with the items.

"Sophia, this might burn a little," Carlisle warns me before spreading something cold on my butt.

It's feels nice at first, cooling. Then the burn began. Fuck did it burn! It took everything I had in me not to scream out loud. Esme kept a tight hold of me

"There you go. The worst is over with," Carlisle let's me know before putting a cold compress right across my ass. It feels so good.

Alice and Jasper quietly leave the room, Esme and Carlisle remain.

"Carlisle?" I call out. "I'm sorry for being a nuisance."

"Don't you worry, sweetheart. It's perfectly understandable." He strokes my head as he says it.

I wonder to myself if this is what it was like to have nice parents. My mother died when I was young and my father was a brute of a man. I would have liked to have had parents like these two.

As Carlisle packed up his things and headed toward the door, I called out to him.

"Carlisle?"

"Yes, sweetheart?" He answers back.

"Would you stay with me? You too, Esme?" I feel embarrassed asking, but I just need to feel comfort right now. I miss Damon so bad! "Please?"

"Of course we will, baby" Esme answers for them both. I scoot over to the middle of the bed, each of them settling on either side of me.

"Will you talk to me? Tell me how you became to be the way you are. How you all ended up together?"

Carlisle started talking first. I relaxed to the sound of their voices. It's didn't take much longer for me to fall asleep.
