Disclaimer--Nothing is mine....Well, except maybe this poem
Can you guess who he's talking about? See my profile for the answer. Please review cuz I seem to be always lacking in those things.....

Did you know her?
They ask when they think I can't hear
I let my eyes over run with tears
I stand in the rain alone and watch the water drip from my fingers

Did you know her?
Is the question whispered then and now
Overwhelming the silence with perpetual sound

Did you know her?
Yes, I did.
Sometimes I think I still do
Her scent is faded in these walls
But her flowers still bloom late into fall

My father spends his time alone
My brother works to keep my sister from the cold
All I can do is stand here and cry
Hearing nothing but silence in my mind

Strong arms and a pair of small
Wrap around me in the gall
They give me strength and I give back to them
Something my life has none to spend

The darkness of my sleep
Is haunted by their trampling feet
Her body, beaten and red
As pools of blood form round her head

We tried as hard as we could
Got her home, in the safest wood
Her body is healed
But her mind was sealed

Did you know her?
I know my father did
Knew the things we kids didn't
He let her go cuz he knew

Blood is liquid and so are waves
The smell of sea spray was so far way
She left us then, needing to go
And here I still am, stiff as a stone

I know I will see her again
She is anything but dead
But right now the pain is too near
For me to see beyond my fears

Did you know her?
It is still not known
That they will ask this again one day
Again my family will feel dismayed

Did you know her?
They will ask
When from land and time she has passed
For love it was and it will hurt

Did you know her?
Yes, I do
My mother and sister
Our love is true

I know her now
For she has come
With the rising of a new sun
A boat will sail with three friends dear
But only two will be written in a book normally clear

My sister will find love in dead trees
With one who is named for green leaves
None will see, so none will know
Of love refound and regrown
Forget the past she never will
But live in for the future is her will

Do you know her?
