"Well, this was so fun. I am so glad you agreed to dinner. We should do it again sometime…don't you think?" Criston said, stopping in front of the brownstone's stoop.

Alicent stepped on the first step turning around to face him. Plastering the fakest smile she could muster and replied with, "Oh yeah, sure. You have my number. Text me." Lying through her teeth.

Criston smirked and nodded. He leaned up to her for a kiss to which Alicent promptly swerved and gave him a simply a half hug and kiss on his cheek. She pulled away and finished with, "I will be pretty unavailable for the next couple of weeks for work. But let me know. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can." 'That should be a good first hint of my complete lack of interest.'

Criston pulled back with disappointment in his face due to the missed kissing opportunity. He figured he could put one more line out, "Unless you'd like to continue this upstairs?" He raised his eyebrows suggestively.

Alicent internally cringed. 'This one might need more direct communication obviously; I'll text him about my lack of interest tomorrow. For now…' "Not tonight, the wine is beginning to give me a headache, unfortunately." She took another step up her stairs. "Get home safe! Night!"

Alicent completed the remaining steps and pulled her keys out to unlock her door, internally rolling her eyes at the idiocy of most of the male sex.

"Right, goodnight. Feel better." Alicent her Criston say while walking away.

"Mmm." Alicent said walking through her door. She walked up the single flight of stairs to her second floor duplex apartment. 'Seriously, how the hell did he think that was a stimulating date on any level?' The conversation was mundane, the flirting was non-existent or corny, and the worst part was it made her yearn for someone else…'No, I can't think of her. It's a bad idea.'

Alicent stumbled into her apartment as her door got jammed a bit. Her little puppy Swift bounced up to her to greet her. "Hey cutie!" Alicent said, kneeling to give her scritches. "Did you miss me?" She gave a little yelp in response, kissing her hand. After greeting her she ran back to her bed and spun three times before laying back down. "Sweet dreams, baby."

Alicent dropped her purse on her kitchen island and turned to remove her long tan burberry trench coat and hung it up. She put her hand on her neck and rolled it groaning from the stress stored there. She had been burning the candles at both ends at her event planning agency for a while now. She was really hoping to engage in some stress relieving activities tonight. Not that Criston was anything special, but he seemed like he could have maybe scratched the itch she needed to be silenced. It has been about a year since…'Nope, I can't think of her. I won't let it happen.'

But her mind and apartment betrayed her as she walked past her living room to her bedroom. She looked right at a picture of her at yellowstone that the women who must not be named had photo credit on. She made her look absolutely gorgeous in that photo. She just had to frame it. 'It's not my photography skills…don't you know, darling? You're so pretty it hurts.' She had said to her after showing it on her phone. Alicent scoffed and shook her head. 'Nope, can't can't can't think about this right now.'

Alicent tried her hardest to rid herself of all those memories. But as she walked into her room she came again face to face of a relic of their relationship. She reached up to undo her necklace and realized when she looked in the mirror she had put the one with her initial on. Alicent rolled her eyes at herself. 'Of course you did that. What is wrong with me? Actually do I even have my actual initial? I wonder if she still has mine..Maybe I should call and ask? NOPE! Not a chance.'

Alicent shook her head as if to rid herself of the thought. She removed her remaining jewelry and looked at her bedsheets, another memory coming flooding from the specific sheets she had on the bed. Moans, fists bunching up the fabric of the maroon coloured egyptian cotton sheets, shuddering in release with her head between her legs, some tears falling from her eyes from the sheer intensity of the moment. She crawled back up to the side of Alicent kissing her cheek and pulling her into her warm and safe embrace. Kissing her tears away, then her cheek and moving her lips to your ears to whisper, 'You're so beautiful when you fall apart…I can't even think straight after.'

Alicent's temperature rose with those images flooding her mind, a warm flooding sensation pulsing in her core. "ERGH!" She fell back onto the bed with a grunt taking her phone out of her pocket. 'Maybe, I can just call to say hello? It's not that late. She did say she would always want to hear from me. No you shouldn't…you don't deserve it. You broke her heart. Then she broke yours…'

Alicent scrolled through her contacts and found her name. 'Rhaenyra T 3' Her heart stilled and an ache formed. Her contact photo was her with that smirk that melted her defenses, and she had a lot of them. Compulsory Heterosexuality to please my parents, internalized homophobia to please the assholes of society, religious shame and guilt to self flaggelate because of her queer desires, and not to mention her own lack of self acceptance. It's what led to her sabotaging the most loving, satisfying, exciting, and safe relationship of her life. Rhaenyra was ever gracious through it too. Comforting her, supporting her, and even saying she would always be there for her to help her, but she had to go through this process herself. She hated herself for it. And she regretted it. So much so that she attempted to make it right and get her back. But alas, Rhaenyra was a force, as strong as a dragon, and she did not wait around. Alicent found out she had taken up with someone else a decent amount of months after they ended. It broke her heart. But she couldn't blame her. Rhaenyra deserved the whole fucking meal…not just the crumbs that Alicent gave her. She really hoped that Laena gave it to her. Or she hoped Rhaenrya just got what she wanted from her. Not love but satisfaction at least. Even though the thought of Rhaenyra experiencing both those possibilities with someone else gutted her.

'I really want to call her and see how she is…I just want to check in. I can ask about the initial necklace… That is a fair question. It would make sense for me to call about that. Maybe not at 11pm on a Friday night but if she can't answer then I just leave a message…right?' She looked at Swift who stumbled in, "Right, swiftie?" "Ruff."

'I am going to take that as a yes.' Alicent pushed herself back to lean on the headboard of her bed. Her finger hovered over the call icon for a moment. 'This is a bad idea…' She pressed it.

The phone trilled once…twice…three times…Alicent sighed 'It's going to go to voicemail.' In the middle of the fourth ring it connected with a breathy, "Ali…"

Alicent's heart stopped and sped up at the same time at the sound of her sensual voice. It made her forget all the words in the English language except, "Yes…"

Rhaenyra chuckled on the other end of the line. "I am glad to know someone didn't grab your phone and accidentally dial your ex…"

Alicent paused. She forgot the mostly fake reason why she was calling and she really couldn't remember any more words so she just said again, "Yes…" But this time more breathlessly. Almost like a relieved sigh.

"So…to what do I owe the pleasure of this late night touch base?" Rhaenrya said through what felt like a smirk.

'She knows what she does to me…she has always known.' Alicent turned into mush around her. Simply put…she was a simp. Alicent cleared her throat buying time and looked around the room trying to capture the reason she phoned, other then the fact she was extremely stressed, sexually frustrated, and missing the hell out of her. She couldn't say that, right? Her eyes caught the shimmer of the necklace on the nightstand and it came flooding back. "I wore your initial tonight…" 'Well, you probably could have said that better.'

Rhaenyra laughed again deeply. "Hmm…was is on purpose or on accident?"

"Accident…I was rushing and I thought I only had my initial one." Alicent said lowly.

"I kept yours. I gave you mine" Rhaenyra replied directly.

Alicent paused. She drew in a breath at the intensity of that statement. The questions it brought up were endless as well as the frustration. "Um…what made you do that?" Alicent replied feeling foolish. Her hands began to feel sweaty and she itched to scratch at her fingers.

Rhaenyra drew in a deep breath and replied, "Because I am yours…and you are mine. Always no matter what, baby. Even through whatever shit you need to work through."

Alicent's breath hitched. She had a million and one thoughts going through her head. A million and one questions. The only one that she could grasp onto was, "Then come show me I am still yours." 'Shit, this is a bad idea.'

Rhaenyra sighed in what seemed like relief. But she waited for a second before saying, "Are you certain that is what you want?"

Alicent felt like crying. Even through everything. All the shit she put her through she still was looking out for her. Making sure she was truly comfortable. She always did that. Waiting 10 seconds in between kisses in case it became too intense for her, holding her all night when she just needed comfort, always obeying her ridiculous public display of affection policies. 'I really don't fucking deserve this woman.'

Rhaenyra took her silence as a bad sign. "It's okay, Ali. It's late. If you want I can have your necklace messengered over to you the first chance I get. It was silly of me to do that. I…"

"Come over. Please…I need you." Alicent said, desperately cutting her off.

"I'll be there soon, princess. Don't start without me." Rhaenyra breathed and disconnected the call.

'Fuck, is this a bad idea? I feel even more lost…' Alicent thought. 'Doesn't feel like it right now…'
