"You really think they'll let me in?"
Robby knew why Tory was worried. He wasn't stupid. She'd made a lot of mistakes in Cobra Kai but she knew that. She had tried to make up for them by telling Sam what really happened at the All-Valley and by helping Miyagi-Fang expose Silver last night.
In Robby's eyes, she had made up for them. He also thought she might like to join Miyagi-Fang. That's why he was talking to her right now outside her apartment
Besides, they had all accepted him back into Miyagi-Do after he'd been in Cobra Kai. Hawk had done really messed up stuff in Cobra Kai but the guys in Eagle Fang apparently accepted him in their dojo and the Miyagi-Do students let go of their resentment towards him after he came up with the idea to build the sparring deck.
So, Robby nodded with a gentle smile. "I'm sure they will. I won't lie, it might be a bit weird for everyone for a while but I'm sure after some time, they'll realise they can trust you."
Tory returned his smile. "I guess I'll come to the dojo the next practice and ask then. When is it?"
"Next week." Robby answered her. "My Dad and Mr. LaRusso have given us all the week off to recover from last night and the karate war."
Tory nodded. "Right. Devon might want to join the dojo too. Is it cool if I ask her?"
Robby nodded. "Yeah."
"Thanks. I can't give up on her. I think I've earned her trust back and I wanna help her train for the Sekai Taikai."
Robby knew how she felt about not giving up. After all, wasn't Tory one of the people he felt he couldn't give up on? Wasn't that why he rejoined the fight against Cobra Kai?
Well, Tory and Kenny.
"I understand. I don't suppose you've heard anything from Kenny since last night?"
Tory shook her head. "No sorry. But I wouldn't worry. I meant what I said last night. I do think he'll come around eventually. I think he's just processing everything and might be a little ashamed that he couldn't see through Silver's crap."
Robby thought she had a point. He remembered when he realised Cobra Kai couldn't give him what he wanted. He wanted the hate he felt towards his dad and Miguel under control. He wanted to get back at his dad and Mr. LaRusso for throwing him away. He wanted to put an end to the rivalry he had with Miguel and thought if he beat him on the mats, it would finally be over.
But he couldn't get any of that. He couldn't even protect Kenny from being bullied. It was a lot to process when he realised everything he did in Cobra Kai, felt like it had been for nothing at all.
Maybe Kenny was finding it all a lot to process as well. He only joined Cobra Kai to stop being bullied by Anthony. The bullying had stopped but it only led Kenny to believe things in Cobra Kai were helpful. It led to him doing a couple of pretty terrible things to Anthony. Silver taught Kenny that move for the Sekai Taikai qualifier that caused someone to be unable to breathe temporarily. He used it on Hawk and Robby.
Had Silver made Kenny think he believed in him? If he had, then learning that Silver could just bribe to get whatever he wanted and did not believe in him at all would have definitely been a lot to process.
So Robby would have to give Kenny the time he needed to process it all. Hopefully he'd be ready to talk after that.
"I think you're right. Hopefully it'll be ok. But are you ok?" he asked Tory.
Tory smiled. "I am now." she said before Robby smiled back and they pressed their lips together.
…
"Are you sure that I can stay? You don't need me anymore."
Chozen felt he had done his job. Daniel wanted him to help expose Silver and he had done that. He had thought it was best to go now but Daniel offered for him to stay while he and Johnny trained their students for the Sekai Taikai.
"Well I understand if you wanna go home but if you wanna stay you're more than welcome."
Chozen would be lying if he said he wasn't tempted. The day Daniel and Johnny went to visit Kreese in prison, he had been training their students alone. They had eventually understood the lesson he was trying to teach when he told them to protect their eggs. He knew then they were ready to learn from him how to fight against Cobra Kai once they learned how to work together.
He would like to teach what he knows to them. Before those kids, he never taught anybody outside of Okinawa. He originally had opinions on outsiders knowing the secrets from his home, but after seeing Daniel again after all those years, after giving him that scroll his uncle Sato gave him, Chozen understood that there were some people outside of Okinawa who deserved to know those secrets.
"I think I would like to stay." Chozen told Daniel with a smile. "Thank you Daniel-San."
Daniel returned the smile. "No, thank you my friend. The valley is safe from Silver once and for all and thank you for taking your time to help me."
"Like I said before, it is never a waste of time to help a friend."
There have been many times after Sato and Kumiko had given him a chance to be better than he was that he was grateful Daniel had spared him the night of their fight. But now that he had the time to get to know Daniel better, know his family and his students and pass on what he knew to students outside of Okinawa, he was more grateful than ever.
"Although," Chozen added. "I think I will get my own place if I'm staying here."
Giving the LaRusso's their guest room back was the least Chozen could do. Besides, the couch in that room was still not good.
