Hey guys! It sure has been a while, hasn't it? It has been years since I wrote my last Amourshipping fanfic, but my Amourshippng fics are still getting so much love that I decided to continue writing for this ship! Can you all believe my first Amourshipping fic was posted here 7 years ago?

This story takes place 10 years after Ash left Kalos for the first time in a timeline in which he becomes World Champion and has to defend his title year after year.

All this time being a champion has allowed him to grow up and think about what he wants to do with his life as an adult. Something has always been calling out to him and he's fairly sure it can be found in Kalos...

Thank you so much Chrissy for proofreading

With a soft landing, a plane from Kanto touched down in the country of Kalos. It was around 6 pm and the sun had started to make its way toward the horizon.

The plane came to a halt and moments later, its doors opened; a Pokémon trainer and his Pikachu walked out and stood on top of the stairs.

The warmth of a Kalosian Summer evening felt like a cozy blanket on their bodies; instantly bringing back memories of all those years ago.

Ash took a deep breath, letting the fresh air pass his lungs. In the distance, the nostalgic sight of the skyline of Lumiose city with its iconic tower rose from the horizon.

''I can't believe it has been so long,'' he said, turning his head to his furry partner, ''it's like we left only yesterday.''

''Pika!'' it replied.

Pikachu wasn't the youngest anymore, but he hadn't lost the spark in its eyes. It had been two years since Ash had retired his most loyal friend from tournaments. Defending the world champion title had been getting harder on the Pokémon and as much as it wanted to, it was a better choice to pass the baton to the younger Pokémon on his team.

Ash carefully watched his step while ascending the stairs. His first entrance into Kalos was quite a painful one and he wasn't planning on recreating the awkward incident of failing down the stairs while being distracted by new Kalos Pokémon flying around.

As soon as he set foot on solid ground again, he was tapped on the shoulder by someone.

''My son is a little shy, but he's your biggest fan,'' a man behind him said. ''Can we take a picture with you?''

''Sure!'' Ash said with a big grin on his face. He had gotten used to the fame. He had always been humble about his trophies and accomplishments, but since reaching the World Champion status there was no escaping the attention everywhere he went.

''What's your name?'' Ash asked as he squatted down to come face to face with the little boy hiding behind his dad.

''Austin,'' he said quietly, clutching his dad's jacket tight with his fist.

''Hey Austin, do you want to be a Pokémon trainer too?'' Ash asked.

The little boy nodded.

''We're from Unova,'' the father explained. ''In a few years, Austin will be picking his first Pokémon from Professor Juniper.''

''Don't pick the Tepig, they're a handful,'' Ash laughed.

''I want an Oshawott,'' the boy said, ''because you got one from the professor too!''

''That's the spirit!'' Ash let out and high-fived the little boy.

They took pictures together, with Pikachu in the boy's arms. Ash signed Austin's hat and his dad couldn't thank him enough. After saying goodbye, Ash continued his way to the city center.

''I should really get a different hat and clothes here, don't you think buddy?'' Ash asked Pikachu after the umptieth autograph and selfie.

The pokémon sighed, relieved that his trainer had finally realised the obvious.

They strolled through the endless streets of Lumiose, staring through the shop windows. After several shopping sprees, Ash had switched his jacket for a blouse, his signature hat for a beret, and even got his little friend a matching one.

''Ash?'' a voice behind him said. He turned around, only to meet eyes with a familiar face.

''Clemont?!'' he let out, ''no way!''

Ash hugged the gym leader and patted him firmly on the back.

''How did you find me?'' he asked.

''Social media is full of pictures of you, everyone knows you've landed in Kalos by now,'' Clemont answered.

''I mean, how did you recognise me? I tried so hard not to stand out,'' Ash said, gesturing at his new outfit.

''You're wearing the exact same outfit as you did when we met Volcanion,'' Clemont laughed.

''Really?'' Ash said in bewilderment and broke out in laughter too.

''Ash!'' A girl's voice resounded from behind them and as soon as the trainer turned around, he was almost flung backwards by a hug around his neck.

''Bonnie!'' he let out as he spun the girl around. ''Look at you, all grown up!''

''I sure have. I'll soon take over my brother's position in the gym,'' she said with a smug face. She reached for her pocket and tossed a Pokéball into the air. With a bright-red flash, a giant Ampharos appeared in front of her.

Ash's jaw dropped. ''Wow, he looks amazing, Bonnie! Was this the Mareep that was your first caught Pokémon?''

''Hm hm,'' she nodded and put a strand of hair to reveal an iridescent eardrop, ''he can also Mega-evolve!''

Ash turned to Clemont. ''But if Bonnie becomes the new gym leader, then what are you gonna do?''

Clemont pushed his glasses up and grinned. ''I've been offered a job at the Silph company in Kanto.''

Ash couldn't believe his ears. ''No way! There's so much I've been missing out on...''

''Can you blame yourself though? You're the most famous trainer in the world and your schedule must be crazy busy. Of course you can't keep up with everyone you've met over the years.''

''That's true,'' Ash replied, ''that's exactly why I'm back. I miss everyone and ever since I became world champion time has flown by like it was nothing.''

''Now that you're finally a Pokémon Master, is there even a goal left in your life?'' Clemont joked.

''I've decided to train my young, new team this year. I doubt they'll be able to keep the title up next championships, but it doesn't matter,'' Ash said with determination. ''Someone else deserves to be a world champion too.''

The siblings nodded. This was the Ash they knew. Ambitious and ready to contaminate others with his never-ending, burning passion.

''Do you need a place to stay tonight?'' Bonnie asked, ''I'm sure Dad will be thrilled to have you visiting our place again!''

The trainer's eyes lit up. ''That'd be great!''

''Where do you plan to go next from here?'' Clemont asked as they made their way to the family's home.

''I think I might want to pay Vaniville town a visit,'' Ash said, rubbing his nose. A clear hint of nervousness from him.

''If you're looking for Serena, she is not home for a while,'' Bonnie cheekily said.

''How did you-?'' Ash started, but his friend's grin revealed he had looked straight through him.

''You two were destined to be reunited,'' the girl said, looking at him through a heart she formed with her hands.

''Bonnie, please...'' Clemont whined. ''I thought you were over this.''

Ash laughed out loud but could feel his cheeks blush. ''Can't change a Liepard's spots I guess.''
