To Those Oblivious

Disclaimer: JK owns everything-I own nothing *boo hoo*
Notes: I had an itch to be Narcissa-istic. The lady of Malfoy Manor doesn't get the attention she deserves. So here 'tis-a whole fic from Lady Malfoy's POV. There is a tiny, tiny, tiny mention of Harry/Draco-but if you're squicked by that…just don't even bother.
This is for Mojo who hauled me kicking and screaming into the HP universe (thanx for not listening to me) ^_^

Narcissa Malfoy was highly annoyed.
She'd been forced to accompany her son to the school train-alone. Lucius having been locked up in Azkaban for who knows how long. Stupid man, Narcissa thought heatedly.
She was walking well ahead of her son, who was dallying behind with those Crabbe and Goyle children. Stalking through the barrier at Platform 9 and 3/4, she ran smack into a boy.
Narcissa was thrown off balance and was precariously close to pitching forwards-her dignity to be shredded on the way down. But strong hands reached out and caught her.
It was the boy she'd collided with. A boy no older than her Draco, with untidy black hair and green eyes. "I'm really sorry," he said "I should learn to watch where I'm going." He pushed a pair of glasses farther up onto his nose.
Narcissa surprised herself by saying "That's alright." She knew this boy…but from where?
Suddenly another boy, a lanky redhead, called out " 'Oy Harry! Hurry up we're gonna miss our seats." The boy in front of her said 'sorry' again and then jogged off to his friend.
Harry…
Of course! Harry Potter.
Narcissa didn't wonder why she didn't recognize him immediately. She had never gotten stirred up over that 'Boy Who Lived' nonsense. That was Lucius's obsession.
And Draco's.
Narcissa looked again at the black haired teen. So this is who Draco is obsessed with… She, of course, had heard her son go on and on about 'Potter' but now she had a flesh and blood person to go with the name.
It was funny though, that her husband and son were both fixated on this one boy. But for two completely different reasons. Lucius of course, because of Voldemort.
But Draco…
Narcissa knew her son.
Even though she might not be a model perfect parent, Narcissa Malfoy still knew all the little inner workings of her child's heart.
She knew the difference between actual hatred and when he was just pouting because he couldn't have something he wanted (which wasn't much).
And Harry Potter…
Was something Draco couldn't have. So her son threw one hell of a fit, which everyone around him mistook for hate. Everyone assumed Draco hated Harry Potter within an inch of his life. Maybe Draco had even convinced himself of that.
But Narcissa knew.
You could never fool a mother.
