A/N: Soooo I got this idea in my head about a week ago and I could not stop thinking about it. I understand this is for a rather niche audience, but hey, I just needed to get it out of my brain! Hope you enjoy (:
Let's pretend for the sake of this story that it's the present day but Olivia and Amanda are both single and don't have any kiddos. I hate to do that to Noah, Jesse, Billie, and Rollisi, but it just doesn't fit with this storyline.
Disclaimer: I own nothing, Dick Wolf does, y'all know the drill.
"Y'all I'm out of here, I have plans," Amanda said, neatly stacking her paperwork, gathering her belongings, and standing from her desk.
"Yeah, like what?" Fin replied, eyebrow raised.
"None of your damn business," Rollins said with a smirk, patting him on the shoulder as she walked by.
"Hey Rollins, can you come here for a second?" Benson hollered.
Amanda stepped into her Captain's office. "What's up?"
"Just curious to know if you finished the DD5 on the case we closed yesterday? I want to get that paperwork sent ASAP."
"I just finished and sent it over," Amanda said with a smile.
"Perfect, thank you," Olivia said, relieved. "If only your fellow detectives were as quick as you," she said with a smirk.
"To be fair, that was about the thousandth one I've done. Velasco and Muncy are still relatively new, and Fin types with two fingers."
Olivia laughed. "Very true. Well, thank you, and have a good night, Rollins. Thankfully I'm going to get out of here in just a few minutes too."
Amanda nodded with a smile and turned to walk out of the office. She stopped in the doorway, getting a thought. She pivoted back to her superior.
"Do you have plans tonight?" she asked.
"Um no, I was just going to go home, open a bottle of wine and watch TV. Why?" Olivia responded with a furrow of her brow.
"I'm going to a concert, a not super well-known artist. I was supposed to go with my girlfr- uh, friend, but she bailed on me. Do you want to go?"
Olivia had half a mind to ask who the artist was and what kind of music, but she was so intrigued by the idea of going out and doing something fun for a change, she didn't even care.
"Sure, why not," she shrugged.
Amanda Rollins smiled a thousand-megawatt smile, "Cool. I'll pick you up from your apartment in about an hour and a half?"
"Sounds good."
Amanda practically skipped out of the precinct, she was so happy.
She was taking Olivia Benson to a Fletcher concert.
Amanda Rollins had slowly fallen for Olivia Benson over their past eleven years of working together. Their relationship started out very rocky, and had some bumps in the road along the way, but overall, they had come out of it as friends. Sometimes it seemed that there was a bit of flirting, toeing the line of being more than friends. Amanda wondered if that was all just in her head; wishful thinking, of sorts. She didn't even know if Olivia was attracted to women.
Meanwhile, Amanda's feelings for Olivia wasn't a new feeling for the blonde. She had known since she was very young that she was physically and sexually attracted to both men and women. While she didn't advertise her bisexuality, she had enjoyed dating a variety of people since moving to New York City. She certainly had an easier time of it than she did in Atlanta.
Although, what Amanda felt for Olivia was all-consuming. She was head-over-heels in love with Olivia Benson, and as time went on, she was having a harder time hiding it. The tall, older, authoritative, curvaceous brunette woman made Amanda feel things she had never felt for anyone else before.
Most recently, to attempt to distract herself from Olivia, Amanda was dating a woman named Kate. When Amanda found out that Fletcher was playing two shows in NYC, she jumped on the opportunity to get two tickets for Kate and herself. They were casual, and ultimately, Kate decided two days prior to the concert that she wanted to pursue a relationship with someone else. Amanda was bummed, but certainly not heartbroken. But, with Kate now out of the picture, Amanda was going to go to the concert alone.
That is, until she invited Olivia along, and she had said yes.
Amanda shot Olivia a quick "Here!" text as she pulled up to the Captain's building. She flipped down the mirror and checked her makeup, swiping a rogue eyelash and taking a deep breath. As she got ready, she decided to add eyeliner, highlighter, and extra mascara to her typical makeup, and she let her wavy blonde hair do its thing, throwing a hair tie on her wrist in case she got too hot.
She had taken a shot of tequila before she left her apartment, hoping it would calm her nerves. She felt okay until she saw her boss approaching her car, and suddenly all of the air left her lungs.
Olivia was clad in tight black jeans, black heeled leather booties, and a flowy white tank top. Her makeup was subtle, her everyday look, which Amanda loved. She was truly a natural beauty who didn't need much makeup.
"Hey," Olivia said as she got in the car. "Is this outfit okay? It didn't occur to me until after I got home that I had no idea where we were going and who we were seeing," she said as she buckled her seatbelt.
"You look perfect, Liv," Amanda choked out after a few seconds, realizing she was staring.
"Oh wow," Olivia replied, finally looking at the blonde, "You clean up nicely yourself, detective," she said with a smirk.
After twenty minutes of throwing around every piece of clothing she owned, Amanda decided to wear a sheer black bodysuit with a black lace bralette underneath, ripped light wash jeans, and black Dr. Martens. Amanda was pleased with her outfit choice as she saw Olivia's eyes linger on her breasts for a second.
"So, who are we seeing?" Olivia asked as Amanda pulled into traffic.
"Patience, Captain," Amanda replied with a quick teasing glance.
"Oh, so that's how it's going to be? I'm in for it, aren't I?" she asked, laughing.
Not much else was said on their short drive, and Amanda pulled into the closest parking garage she could find. They made their way out onto the street toward the Manhattan Center. As soon as they arrived, Olivia, being the detective she was, noticed that most of the people going into the venue were young, scantily-clad women. As they went through security and Amanda had their tickets scanned, Olivia saw one of the electronic signs change to say "Fletcher, October 30, 8pm, Hammerstein Ballroom". The colorful photo was of a young woman with her head thrown back, her arms crossed over herself, pulling her shirt up to almost reveal her breasts.
Amanda noticed Olivia's eyes widen when she saw the screen and she laughed. She gently grabbed Olivia by the arm and said, "C'mon Liv," before leading her to the bar. They each purchased two drinks and walked inside.
"We can stay toward the back if you don't want to be all up in the crowd, it's not like we won't be able to see or hear from further back," Amanda said.
"Okay, sure," Olivia said, still baffled by the whole experience and wondering what was going to happen as the night went on. They settled on a spot near the middle, a good distance away from the person in front of them.
Amanda started to wonder if this was a horrible idea. She was excited about the idea at first, thinking that maybe this would push herself to finally admit her feelings to her boss, and possibly solidify if Olivia actually liked her back, or if she was just plain crazy. She was having an internal war with herself, but felt better as she noticed the brunette visibly relax as the opener came out and started playing. Maybe it was just the energy of the room and having nothing to be distracted by. They both listened to the opener, neither particularly interested in the music, sipping their drinks and sneaking occasional glances at each other.
Once the opener was finished and the stage was being prepped for Fletcher, Olivia decided to go get another drink. She had downed both of hers so fast purely due to nerves. "I'm going to go back to the bar, do you want another?" she asked Amanda.
"Sure, Jack and Coke please," Amanda smiled.
She watched as Olivia walked off. Amanda couldn't get over how good she looked in those tight black jeans that perfectly hugged her hips, and the exposed tanned, muscular arms that she rarely got to see.
She turned back, running her hands through her hair. Suddenly, she noticed a younger woman was approaching her.
"Not to be creepy, but I noticed you from all the way over there," she said, pointing behind her, "And damn, you're hot," the girl said. "Are you single? Because I'm into older women and you are exactly my type."
Amanda smiled, this was not the first time she had been approached by a younger woman. She didn't know whether to take it as a compliment or if it was weird. At the very least, she was flattered. "Well thanks, but uh, I'm not really looking for anything at the moment, I just got out of a relationship," Amanda said.
"Her loss. Wish it was my gain, but I understand. Enjoy the concert," the girl said, leaning up to kiss Amanda's cheek and running back over to her friends.
"Who the hell was that?" Olivia said, laughing, approaching just as the young woman had walked away.
Amanda spun around, her cheeks flushed, partly from the cheek kiss and slightly embarrassed that Olivia had caught any part of that encounter. "Some girl that wanted to date me. Jealous, Liv?" she shot back with a raised eyebrow.
Now it was Olivia's turn to have flushed cheeks. "Amanda, are you ga-"
Olivia was cut off by the lights dimming and the crowd screaming.
Amanda laughed, knowing that she finally had the older woman in the palm of her hand. She turned to Olivia and winked as the first few chords of "Guess We Lied…" played. Amanda yelled and clapped, then leaned in close to Olivia's ear. "Have fun, Liv. Let loose."
Olivia gasped, both at the closeness of her subordinate, and the sight of Fletcher herself walking onstage. Just like many of the audience members, she was scantily clad, and Olivia couldn't deny the fact that she was wildly attractive. She was a bit mesmerized as the woman started to sing.
We're not friends and we're not lovers
No, we're not enemies of each other but
Any of them would be better than nothing, nothing
You got a new life in just six seasons
I only know you in bits and pieces and
I'm losing my head tryna hold on to something, something
I thought that by now we'd be over the fallout
You said we'd be closer
I guess you didn't tell the truth
It quickly hit Amanda how real some of these lyrics were, and instead of it making her anxious, the energy of the room mixed with the alcohol she had consumed gave her new-found courage. She turned toward Olivia and sang the next lyrics directly at her.
So if you're gonna lie
Do it in my bed
If you're gonna lie
At least do it in my bed
So if you're gonna lie
Do it in my bed
If you're gonna lie to me
Make it worth it
Olivia gawked at the blonde, entranced by the seductive look directed at her. On top of it, Amanda's singing voice was perfect, and Olivia was stuck in sensory overload. Amanda noticed the flustered look on the brunette's face and giggled, turning back to enjoy the rest of the song.
Olivia then realized what was happening. Amanda Rollins had taken her to a room full of lesbians, to see a lesbian artist.
After having this thought, she more carefully scanned the room, noting that the crowd was almost entirely made up of women, and a lot of them were holding and kissing each other.
Damn you, Amanda Rollins! she internally cursed. Prior to this, she thought she was doing well hiding her feelings for the blonde. It wasn't a totally new feeling, but it felt slightly foreign, since she had only ever been with one other woman, years ago. She had been working with Amanda for many years and she never figured the woman to be anything but straight. She knew of past boyfriends Amanda had had, but she couldn't ever remember the mention of a girlfriend.
Wait.
She recalls a slip-up the blonde had made earlier that night in her office when Amanda was inviting her to the concert. She mentioned that her friend was supposed to go but bailed, but initially she started to say girlfriend before quickly correcting herself. She supposed they had broken up, and realized that Amanda was noticeably flirting with her throughout the night. Did she purposefully bring Olivia to this concert to try to get with her?
She had zoned out in her own thoughts for so long that several songs had gone by, and Amanda had noticed. Olivia almost looked sick. Amanda touched Olivia's arm, "Hey, are you okay?" she yelled over the music.
Olivia snapped out of it, feeling electricity shoot up and down her arm from Amanda's touch. "Yeah," she said with a soft smile, turning back to watch the show.
A new song started to play, and Amanda's eyes lit up as she recognized it. She sang this song particularly loudly, and Olivia tried to listen closely to the lyrics.
'Cause I've said it
To everyone, everyone, everyone, everyone else
Like, "Oh, my God"
And I've meant it
To everyone, everyone, everyone but myself
Like, "Oh, my God"
So, I've been looking in the mirror and I practice saying this
I love you, bitch
I love you, bitch
Now I say it, to nobody, nobody, nobody but myself
I love you, bitch
Olivia looked over, noticing tears in the blonde's eyes. She knew Amanda had self-confidence issues in the past, and it seemed like this song really resonated with her. Olivia reached over, grabbing Amanda's hand, squeezing it, hoping that would convey everything she couldn't say.
Amanda's head snapped toward Olivia when she felt her touch, not even realizing the tears streaming down her face. She swiped them away with her free hand and gave her a smile. She held onto Olivia's hand, both as a silent thank you, and simply because she loved having the older woman's hand in hers. It felt right.
As I Love You, Bitch ended and girls girls girls started to play, Amanda decided this was her chance.
Using their still-connected hands, Amanda pulled Olivia toward her. Olivia yelped in surprise and Amanda caught her, holding her waist with her hands. Now only inches apart, Amanda looked into Olivia's eyes and sang the lyrics directly to her.
Had a tight T-shirt
I could see what's underneath
Talking over speakers
You're leaning close to me
You tuck my hair behind my ear
I put my finger through the loop of your jeans
I knew right then, right there it was so cinematic
Because it started to rain
And I said, "Oh my God, your body's speaking my language"
I told my mom it's not a phase 'cause
As the lyrics, "I kissed a girl and I liked it" played, Amanda finally broke eye contact to lean in all the way, pressing her lips to Olivia's. She remained there for a second before feeling Olivia's hands cup her face and start to kiss her back. Amanda moaned into the kiss, wrapping her arms further around Olivia's waist, reveling in the moment of finally kissing the woman she had longed after for so many years.
"Yes, Liv, I'm very gay," Amanda said, pressing her forehead to the brunette's. Olivia laughed, realizing Amanda was answering the question she had asked of her at the very beginning of the concert.
"I noticed."
They continued to enjoy the rest of the show, sharing light touches and kisses. Olivia laughed as Amanda screamed the lyrics to Undrunk rather loudly, clearly letting out some frustration toward her ex.
Finally, as the encore played, Amanda grabbed Olivia and pulled her against her. Olivia ground her ass into Amanda's front, eliciting a groan from Amanda. Amanda placed kisses down Olivia's neck, sucking on her pulse point every so often, and sang the lyrics into Olivia's ear. Olivia gasped at the explicit lyrics, loving hearing the words from Amanda's mouth.
I know she thinkin' that she found herself a winner
I know you fucked her on the counter right before you cooked hеr dinner, yeah
I know you think about me whеn you kiss her
I left a taste in your mouth, can she taste me now
Olivia spun around and slammed her lips against the blonde's again, this time pushing her tongue into the blonde's mouth. They stood there, holding each other and making out, as the song ended. They pulled away, both of their eyes dark with arousal. They clapped and yelled for Fletcher, thanking her for helping them take their relationship to the next level.
As the band exited the stage and the lights came back up, both women contentedly sighed and turned toward each other. "Let's get out of here," Amanda said, grabbing Olivia's hand and lacing their fingers.
"You know, I oughta arrest you for setting me up like that, but as I look back on it, that was really smooth," Olivia laughed as she settled in the car.
"Hey," Amanda said, feigning innocence, shrugging, "It worked."
They leaned in, kissing again, both enjoying the new territory this phase of their relationship came with.
"So," Olivia said, placing a hand on Amanda's thigh after their kiss broke, "Your place, or mine?"
