Nothing.
Absolutely nothing was heard or could be heard in the dark room that the 3 strange individuals were located in. Only the light from the large computer screen provided some view, but their faces were still covered.
"So when do we begin?" a gruff, male voice grumbled as he pumped his two large fists together. A tone of impatience present in his voice.
The sound of a paper fan closing could be heard. "Patience you brute, the last thing we need is for you to go on another rampage again, do you remember what the boss did to you?" a woman smirked.
The man puffed through his nose, not saying anything.
"But I would be lying if I said I wasn't itching for another fight you know," she admitted. "You can never tame your spells properly,"
The woman turned to another person completely covered by a black cloak, is face not only hidden by the hood, but by a black mask.
"What about you sweetie? Don't you feel lazy just waltzing around without doing anything?"
The cloaked person said nothing as the woman rolled her eyes. "Man of a few words huh,"
"Silence," a new voice spoke through a voice modulator. Footsteps echoed near the door as it opened, revealing another cloaked person with a black mask covering his mouth. "Everything will fall into place soon, all that is needed, is patience," the person said.
"And when will that happen actually?" the brute of a man demanded as the hooded person stared at him.
"No wonder you're always falling behind, you're muscles no doubt aren't small but can't say the same for that brain of yours,"
The sound of a wall being punched was heard. The big man pulled back is fist from the now cracked wall and walked over to him.
"You want to say that to my face you little-"
The man's words were cut short a metal claw was suddenly pointing at his Adam's Apple. Silence filled him as he could feel the claw digging deeper into his skin, it wasn't stabbed...yet.
"I said silence, speak like that to me again, or never speak again," the person stared into the larger man's eyes as he didn't say anything. Grumbling in frustration, the man took a few steps back and crossed his arms as he leaned against the wall. The woman smirked.
"My, I guess even the most wildest of beast can be easily tamed with a leash," the woman snickered.
"Watch that tongue of yours damn magician,"
"Enough!" the man spoke in a louder voice, "I can't focus with your bickering! Shut up! The both of you!"
Silence filled the room once more.
"Thank you," he said as he walked over to the computer. "As for our plans, remember what I said, patience would be the key to our goals," he typed on the keyboard, "But we must be careful, how we want to proceed with our plans is no easy task, especially with the target right now," he stated.
"Who's the target?"
The man typed more and a picture was revealed onto the screen, a picture of a girl with long brown hair covered in a white and pink baseball hat.
"A Pokedex Holder, White Touka,"
"Alright so an ad for the perfume company? Oh the one that's based in Castelia City?" White asked into the phone which was being held between her cheek and shoulder, one hand holding a piece of paper while the other writing down details of the call.
"Yes I understand, so they want the Roserade evolution line to be the mascot?" she asked as she nodded her head. "Uh huh, alright, I'll try to find some Roserade actor's agencies to see if they're willing to work with us," she noted us.
"No no it's fine, really, thank you for choosing BW Agency!" she cheered into the phone as she hung up. She set the phone down, took a deep breath, leaned back into her chair and let out all the air.
"What a day," she muttered to herself. Today was one of those days where she didn't need to leave the comfort of her home to go to the office but would still be stuck at her place trying to get work done. It's just a reminder of what presidents have to go through and especially after the success of the musical yesterday, she got a sudden boost of motivation to get work done.
But time can only tell how much that will last.
She had been at it non stop for almost 2 hours without any breaks. Even Gigi, who was asleep on the couch watched in concern as her trainer continued to read through and sign documents. And after that last call, she felt that she had used the boost all up.
"Man I guess I really am a workaholic," she chuckled to herself. Wonder what Black would say...
And then it hit her. She remembered crying, breaking down the previous day, but honestly, it was no different then all the other days of missing Black. What could she do? There was not a day where she wasn't thinking about the brown haired pokedex holder. And as much as she missed him, she also knew that crying everything when she thought about him wouldn't change anything. She knew she had to move forward somehow.
She turned her head towards the window next to her, staring up into the beautiful blue sky. The sun was shining brightly down onto the streets of Nimbasa City.
But I still want to believe that somewhere out there, you're still there Black.
She got off the her chair and placed her hand on the windo.
And I won't stop trying to find you.
She closed her eyes, relaxing her brain for a moment. She turned back towards her desk and grimaced at the sight of her messy desk. A flock of Pidoves chirping caught her attention as they flew in the sky.
"Hey Gigi," The Tepig raised her head to see her trainer walking up to her, kneeling down. "How do you fancy a walk in the park today?"
Gigi had never hopped off the sofa and into her trainer's arms that fast before.
White stretched her arms, leaning back into the wooden bench, taking a deep breath of the fresh air that surrounded Nimbasa Park. She looked around and saw that she wasn't the only trainer who was in need of fresh air. There were multiple other people who frolicked around the grass with their pokemon, either relaxing or battling.
"Can't believe I've been missing out on this," she said to herself.
She bathed her skin in the sunlight, maximizing her relaxation to an extent as she watched Gigi playing with her other pokemon in the grass. Amanda, the Serperior was curled up, peacefully sleeping on the grass, Darlene the Deerling and Barbara the Vullaby were playing tag with each other, Solly the Duosion was floating in the air carefree, and Dorothy the Stunfisk and Nancy the Alomomola were playing in a nearby pond.
Having a warm feeling in her heart, she couldn't help but chuckle to herself. She didn't even think that she would get this many pokemon ever since meeting Black. If the brownhead hadn't shown up during her filming that day, she would probably still be just another workaholic who hadn't made much friends or not being able go on those crazy adventures, or learning a lot.
"Black..." she muttered to herself. She could feel her eyes getting wet from tears.
"No, no, no, no" she told herself as she wiped her face. She needed to move on, she knew she couldn't mourn for him forever. Her hand landed on her jean pocket, a rectangular object laid inside. Pulling it out, her expression changed at the sight of the pokedex. She remembered how Bianca had decided to give it to her when she wanted to assist the professor and it really did come handy, but it hasn't been turned on ever since that day.
Only 2 trainers own a pokedex in the Unova Region, her, and Black. That's why it hadn't been turned on in years, it reminded her of Black, both in a good way and a bad way.
"E-Excuse me," she heard a timid voice spoke. She turned around and her eyes widened as she saw green hair. A trainer wearing a simple black t-shirt and white pants was tapping his fingers together in a nervous manner. But it wasn't his green hair that caught her attention, it was his face, it looked similar to...
"N?" she accidentally spoke out loud as the trainer had a confused look on his face.
"H-Huh?" he stuttered as White got up and immediately bowed in an apologetic manner.
"Ah no, please don't mind that," she quickly brushed off. "Oh umm, may I help you?" she asked, remembering his earlier question.
Sweat dripped down his face as his lips trembled. "I-I couldn't help b-but notice t-that," he pointed towards White's pokedex. Her guard was brought up, she had heard stories about the lengths people will go to get their hands in the Pokedex.
"What about it?" she asked, trying to show authority in her tone, but still tyring to hide it. Unfortunately it seems that she wasn't that good at it as the trainer put his hands up defensively.
"Oh n-no, I j-just wanted t-to ask i-if you.." his voice trailed off as he swallowed the saliva in his throat.
"If I what?" she raised her eyebrow.
The trainer took a deep breath. "If you would battle with me!" he shouted out loud, catching White off guard.
"Excuse me what?" White sweatdropped.
"That t-thing, i-it's a p-p-pokedex r-right?" he stuttered more as White nodded, "I-I recently g-got this p-pokemon," he held up a pokeball, "A-And I w-was h-hoping y-you w-would teach me,"
"Teach you? On what? Battling?"
The trainer nodded. "H-Having that m-means you're an e-e-experienced t-t-trainer, r-right?"
That was one question that White hesitated to answer. Was she an experienced trainer? Sure she's been around pokemon for almost all her life ever since she was a young girl, but she never really considered battling. But she remembered her training back at the Battle Subway, eventhough that was years ago.
"I... guess?" she spoke in an unsure tone, a fitting tone.
"T-Then let b-battle, w-when trainer e-eyes m-"
"Yeah yeah sorry but I'm kind getting tired of hearing that phrase," White replied politely. "But yeah, sure, let's battle," she held up a pokeball.
Both stood on both ends of a field that was available for trainers to use at the park.
"By the way," White called out, "My name's White," she enlarged a pokeball.
The trainer took a deep breath as he enlarged a pokeball. "S-Sory, I forgot t-to i-i-introduce myself, I-I'm A-Artie," he stuttered.
"Well Artie, here's to a great battle!" White threw the pokeball. "Amanda!" she called out. The Serperior coiled up onto the battlefield as hissed at her opponent, who gulped staring at the terrifying Serperior.
"L-Let's d-do this, Rico!" he shouted as he threw his pokeball, and out came stood a blue pokemon with yellow fur on it's chest, black markings on it's face standing on to legs.
"GROUUU!" The Lucario howled fiercely at the Serperior, emitting a wave of aura that cause the wind around them to blow. White was taken aback by this, not expecting a such a large contrast of confidence between the pokemon and trainer.
"You guys can have the first move!" White called out as Artie gulped.
"T-thank you," he bowed. "A-Alright R-Rico, use A-Aura Sphere!"
Rico put his hands together, summing a blue sphere of Aura energy and fired it towards the snake pokemon.
"Leaf Storm!" White countered as Amanda's tail glowed, generating a bunch of leaves that swirled around it. The Regal pokemon swiped her tail forward, firing the Leaf Storm, the two attacks intercepting, creating a small explosion.
"F-F-Force Palm!"
Before White or Amanda could react, the Lucario leapt through the spoke, holding back it's arm and slammed it against Amanda's body. The Serperior crying out in pain as it was sent backwards.
"Amanda!" White shouted as the Serperior shook her head, continuing to hiss at Rico.
"U-Use S-Swords D-D-Dance!" Rico put his hands on his waist, bending his knees to get into a meditative position as orange swords appeared and swirled around him.
"Stop him Amanda! Leaf Tornado!"
The Serperior generator a swirl of leaves that got bigger and bigger. With a shriek,
Amanda fired the tornado towards Rico who, to White's horror, had just finished powered up using Swords Dance.
"J-Jump back!" Rico ordered as the Lucario pressed his foot into the ground and jumped backwards, narrowingly avoiding the Leaf Tornado attack.
Just how good is this guy?
A bead of sweat dripped down White's forehead, she had clearly made the mistake of underestimating her opponent. She knew she wasn't the best at battling but seeing how nervous her opponent was made her thought she had a chance.
"Don't give up Amanda! Double Team into Leaf Storm!" White shouted as Amada hissed loudly, creating dozens of copies of herself that spread out upon the battlefield. The copies, plus the originals' tails started to glow in a shade of green with a storm of leaves gathering.
"B-Bone Rush! E-Extend and t-t-throw!"
Rico held his arms out, putting his fists together. His hands separated as a blue bone slowly formed in his hands. The bone got longer and with a growl, the Lucario threw the bone like a boomerang. White watched in horror as the bone went around the field, slowly destroying the copies of Amanda. But luckily it was too slow as the real Amanda managed to fire out a Leaf Storm.
"Yes!" White pumped her fists as she watched the Leaf Storm landing a direct hit, but frowned realizing that the Bone Rush attack had done the same to Amanda. Despite the not so effective move, she could see the pain her Serperior had to deal with. This Lucario was not messing around, and neither was his trainer.
"M-Metal S-Sound!"
The spikes on Rico's hands were touching, emitting a horrible, screech like noise that rung. It was so loud that even White had to cover her ears from the ringing.
"Amanda!"
White watched as her Serperior beared the pain. Having no arms, there was almost no way the snake pokemon could protect her ears from the loud noise.
Having no choice, White only knew on thing. "Leaf Storm!" Push forward.
Gritting her teeth, Amanda let out a loud hiss as a storm of leaves started to form and swirl around her tail. The mighty snake jumped up and swiped her tail at the Lucario.
"R-Rico!" the trainer yelled. The Lucario was too distracted to keep up the Metal Sound attack so it was too late to do anything before the Leaf Storm attack hit him. The attack made contact, causing a small explosion. However, White knew from her previous mistake that she couldn't celebrate early.
"Good job Amanda but keep your guard up!" White advised as the pokemon nodded. Her heart pumped fast as the smoke was slowly fading away.
It certainly had been awhile since she last battle, so she almost forgot how fun and tiring it was to be in one. A smile slowly crept itself onto her face, was this what Black felt like whenever he battle? It was no wonder the Dexholder loved battling so much. She looked onto the field as saw Amanda staring back at her.
Despite not having White as her original trainer, she knew she could trust her. In the beginning she merely followed White on N's orders but over the years, they got to know each other and bonded, they have each other's trust no matter what.
"Bone Rush!" the trainer yelled, catching White and Amanda off guard as Lucario quickly leapt out of the smoke, forming an aura bone in his hands.
"Intercept with Leaf Tornado quick!"
Amanda raised her leaf covered tail just intime as Rico came down, swinging the bone hard, both attacks colliding with each other with sparks flying off of each other.
"P-Power Up Punch!" the trainer shouted as horror washed over White's face. Rico grinned as with one hand still on the bone, his other hand pulled back and started to swirl with orange aura.
"Oh no Amanda move!"
But it was too late. Rico moved his arm forward and the attack made contact. Amanda was sent flying as she was dragged across the ground by the force, creating a cloud of dust.
"Amanda?" White called out. The dust cleared as it revealed Amanda unconscious on the ground with swirly eyes. The trainer's eyes lit up.
"I-I won?" he spoke in disbelief. "I...I won!" he punched the air as before Rico knew it, the trainer ran forward and pulled his pokemon in for a hug.
"We won!" he cheered.
White walked up to Amanda, slowly patting her head. "You did great girl, take a good rest," she said as she returned her to her pokeball. White watched as the trainer hopped around with his arms around Rico and smiled. She got up and walked over to him.
The trainer immedietly bowed. "T-Thank you s-so much miss!"
"Keep your head up, it was a great battle," she said as she stuck her hand out. The trainer looked down in disbelief and was about to reach his own hand out when suddenly a ringing noise was heard from his pocket.
"Huh?" he reached into it and took out a phone. "Hello?"
White didn't know it was a possible for emotions to switch so quickly as the trainer's face suddenly frowned with sweat dripping down. A nervous gulp was heard.
"Y-Yes! I-I'm terribly sorry! I'm o-on my way!" he said as he quickly hung up.
"Sorry miss somethingcameupandIhavetogonowitwasnicebattlingyou!" he blurted out as White watched as he suddenly ran off, leaving a trail of dust from where he stood.
"Huh?"
Rico facepalmed itself at the sight of it's trainer as it ran off after him, leaving a confused White who cocked her head at the scene.
"What...was that?" she asked herself as another thought popped into her head. "I never got his name..." she muttered as her Xtransceiver beeped.
"Hmm?" she noticed that it was a message from one of her employees from the agency. But she couldn't care less as her eyes darted to the clock at the top of the functions. Her face turned exactly like the trainer's.
"Ahhhh I stayed too long! I have a lot of work to do!" she panicked to herself as she quickly ran off, leaving a trail of dust behind her just like her opponent.
The doors of Nimbasa City Airport slid open, making a small jingling sound, letting the cool air of the airport out to join the wind of Nimbasa City. A boy stepped out of the airport, dressed in a red jacket with a white hoodie, black shorts, and a white sling bag strapped over his shoulder.
But what was most prominent, was the goggles that was wrapped around the backwards baseball cap, a tuft of hair sticking out. A billiard cue rested behind his neck with both hands on it. He let out a whistle.
"So this is Nimbasa City huh?" he said to himself as he looked around the large city. "And here I was thinking that Goldenrod City was the biggest city I've ever been in," he set the billiard cue down. A serious expression took over his face.
"Well then, time to get to work, get ready Unova," he grinned to himself as he set a skateboard down on the ground. Kicking off, riding into the streets of Nimbasa.
"Because Gold of New Bark Town is here," he smiled to himself.
