The weather of Nimbasa City wasn't so bad today. White grumbled remembering the few times the weather turned on her by either raining so heavily that her socks were soaked wet, or when the wind was just too strong that her hat flew off from her head multiples times. Honestly it was probably the reason why she stopped wearing it. Nowdays, she usually had it like how she did it now, just a nice, simple ponytail.
She hummed to a song she recently heard on the sidewalk, making her way to the Musical Theatre as they had another performance planned for the next few days, she just needed to make sure everything was right on track. She looked up and saw the sun shining brightly, but not too brightly, she stretched her arms and took in the deep scent of the city air that was Nimbasa City. Even being in a populated and modern city, the air still smelled so fresh. One of the many reasons why she loved living here.
It was such a good day, at least, that's what she thought when she suddenly felt a strong tug at her right shoulder, the shoulder which the strap of her bad was on. The next thing she knew, her bag had slid off of her and was in the hands on a man dressed in black, running past by her.
"Hey! Wait!" White shouted as she started dashing towards the thief. "Stop!" she shouted aloud as she ran as fast as her legs could take her. She knew she wasn't so athletic even after her journey days were over and it was this moment she made a mental note to hit the gym often.
She huff and puff, running past pedestrians, going after the thief, her eyes not letting go of her target that easily. Unfortunately, she was so focused on her target that she didn't notice she had bumped her shoulders with a passerby.
"I'm sorry!" she called out without looking behind. The passerby didn't say anything, merely watching her run off, a smile creeping up onto his face.
White's eyes widened as she saw the thief dashing into an alleyway.
Got you. She pushed harder and ran faster until she reached the alleyway, turning right into it. The alleyway had only a few turns, but one path, meaning her the thief would reach a dead end. And she was right.
With one last right turn, she saw the thief staring at a huge brick wall. She stopped in her tracks.
"There you are!" she shouted as the thief turned around with a menacing smile.
"My, how stupid you are to follow me all the way here,"
"I'm the stupid one?" White fired back ,"says the thief who ran into a wall, now give me my bag back or-"
"Or what?" the thief raised an eyebrow. White responded by moving her hand to her waist where she would usually keep her belt that contained her pokeball, usually being the keyword as she gulped, not feeling anything there. The thief laughed as he reached into her bag and pulled out her pokeballs.
"Looking for these?" he taunted. "Hehe, now you know who's the stupid on here,"
White didn't answer. Merely gritting her teeth and arrowing her eyes.
"And well, since you followed me here, can't have you going back and reporting me now right?" he took out two pokeballs of his own and threw them. Two pokemon emerged, yellow, humanoid bodies with black stripes. Electricity crackled around their bodies. White instantly knew that they weren't Unovan pokemon.
"Tabuzz..." The 2 Electabuzz growled at White. A bead of sweat dropped.
"Well? I would let you go if you would do me one simple favour," the thief narrowed his hungry eyes at her. White saw his pupils moving up and down her body, her face immedietly disgusted by it.
"Over my dead body," she shot back. The man cocked his head sideways.
"Oh well, I guess that'll do as well," he snickered as he pointed his finger towards. White widened her eyes in horror, her brain scrambling itself trying to think of a way to get out of the situation, but nothing came.
"Thunder-!"
"Aibo!" a voice was yelled from behind as suddenly, something was shot from behind her, the object moved so fast that she couldn't tell what it was until it hit the wall behind the thief. It was only then she could make out the item.
It was a pokeball. The pokeball hit the wall and opened, and out came a a strang looking monkey pokemon with a purple body. White noticed that that it had two tails, a fist at the end of each tail. The monkey pokemon grinned at the two Electabuzzes.
"Double Hit!"
In mid air, the pokemon spun in mid air and punched each Electabuzz using it's two tails. She gasped as the yellow pokemon collapsed at just one hit.
"What the-!" the thief's words were cut short as the monkey jumped onto his head, the weight making him fall backwards onto the ground. The pokemon stood on the ground and use both of it's tails and held his chest and legs down, the fingers of the fist wrapping his arms together so he couldn't move.
White turned around and widened her eyes as she saw the person whom she accidentally bumped shoulders with earlier. His hands rested on a billiard cue that was behind his neck and he had... Goggles? On his cap?
"Well well well, that ain't so manly of you to steal from a woman now isn't it buddy," the trainer grinned as he walked past White and towards the thief. He used the cue to pick up the bag by the handle and swung it to White.
"Here you are m'lady,"
Still trying to process what happened, White grabbed out and reluctantly took her bag from the cue. The thief scowled at the two trainers.
"Why you little-" He made a weird noise, understandable as the trainer held the cue stick at his throat.
"Why don't ya shut it and save what ypu have to say to the police, I already reported to them so they should be here anytime soon," he grinned as he turned back at White.
"O-Oh, thank you very much," she bowed slightly as the trainer rubbed his nose.
"Heh, no worries, although I'm pretty sure this is the part where you jump into my arms and call me your hero now isn't it?" he raised his eyebrow as all respect White felt for him vanished.
She rolled her eyes at him.
"Think again buddy," she shot back.
The trainer laughed. "Do I at least get a name?" he wished hopefully.
"You haven't told me yours, why should I tell you mine?"
He mimicked the expression of being shot. "Oof, but I get it," he put the cue on his shoulder and stood up straight. "Name's Gold of New Bark Town, and I'm currently 20 years old, single and I'm-"
"White," she interrupted him. New Bark Town? Isn't that in Johto?. Before anyone could say anything else, a ringing tone was heard. White noticed it was coming from her Xtranceiver and her face fell.
"Ahhh, I'm already running late," White panicked as she gave one more bow to Gold. "I'll be sure to repay you this favour someday Gold, I'm sorry but I have to go now, Thank you very much again!" she said as she quickly scurried off before the Johto native could do anything.
Once she was gone, the Ambipom looked up at him. Gold's face now holding a more serious expression. He brought his hand up and pulled his sleeve to reveal a cellphone-like device wrapped around his wrists. He flipped it open and tapped a few buttons. A dialing noise rang until it stopped.
"This is Gold... yeah, we found her," he said.
"Hmmm..." White contemplated to herself. "Maybe we could try getting the Mienfoo to stand at the back, have it like the audience would be surprised when it jumps high since it can do that, then we can have the Cubchoo in the beginning act," she explained to her team members as they kept asking questions.
They were planning another theatre show that would be playing for the next few night again, then a few more commercials for a different brands.
After the Q&A session, White felt like she was finally able to breathe as she sat back down on the chair on one of the bleachers. She reached down to get her water bottle before she heard footsteps.
"Umm, White," she turned around to see it was one of the stagemen. "There seems to be someone outside looking for you," he said.
"Huh? Who? Is it the deliveryman for the new lights we ordered?"
The man shook his head. "No no, he seems to be a trainer, carries a billiard cue around, you know him?"
"A billiard cue?" White thought hard for awhile until she realized who he meant. "Oh!"
Outside, Gold stared at the multiple promotional posters of the various theatre shows that were held at the Musical Theatre. He noticed at the bottom of each poster, all had the BW Agnecy logo.
"Man they weren't kidding when they told me her company's a pretty good one," he said to himself quietly.
"So what you helped me and now you're stalking me?" he heard from behind. Turning around, he saw White standing with her hands on her hips.
"Oh you wound me with your words now Miss White," he grinned, "I came all the way from Johto to have a nice vacation in Unova and since while I'm in the city, might as well check the hotspot," he winked.
"Well, what do you want?" White voiced.
"Well, you did say earlier that you would repay the favour, and now I'll shamelessly take that offer!" he exclaimed. White sighed. On one hand, she was busy, on the other hand, it is thanks to him that she was even standing there right now.
"Fine," she gave in. "What do you want?"
Gold grinned. "How about a tour of the place, you know? Show me around how this place works,"
White blinked. "A tour? That's all you want?"
Gold nodded. "What'd you expect me to say?"
I don't know, money? White thought to herself until she shook those thoughts away. She looked at the time, saw that she still had just enough time to help Gold, and faced him.
"Alright fine, follow me," White waved her hand.
"Awesome," he snickered as suddenly one of his pokeballs shook a bit. It clipped off his belt and out revealed the purple monkey that White saw earlier.
"Oh Aibo, you wanna see the tour too?"
"Ambi ambi pom!" it cheered as Gold turned to face her, a hopeful look on his face.
"Yeah sure why not, we have pokemon performing all around here anyway, just make sure you both don't cause too much trouble," she ordered as Gold and his Ambipom both saluted.
"Yes ma'am!"
Suprisingly Gold managed to behave like a proper child most of the time White showed him around the building, although it didn't help that he practically flirted with almost every single female person there. But besides that, White had also been carefully observing him; the latter didn't really seem interested in theatre production or anything else related in general.
She noticed that he almost had a bored look to his face, only lighting up whenever he saw women.
If its so boring why would you even want a tour? White questioned herself. But one thing he did seem to excel in was Pokemon. It was when White showed him around backstage where he saw the pokemon actors, which were all small pokemon. It was only then Gold had a biggest smile on his face as he knelt down. Without calling out to them, the pokemon all gathered around Gold, letting him pick them up or petting them. Some of them were even playing around with the Ambipom.
"I never got to ask, what pokemon is that actually?" White referred to Aibo.
"Oh, he's one of my first pokemon and my partner, Aibo, he's an Ambipom," Gold explained. "I'm assuming this is the first time you've seen one?"
"Bingo," White laughed as she noticed how the pokemon were acting so friendly with Gold.
"You seem to know your way around those pokemon," she observed as Gold laughed.
"Well, I grew up in a house filled with pokemon, they aren't just my partners but my brothers and sisters as well," Gold explained, "and what can I say, I guess I just have a charming aura around me," he moved his eyebrow up and down.
White couldn't 100% agree with that statement but couldn't fully denied it as well, seeing how he managed to draw in the pokemon so well.
"So Miss White," Gold started.
"White," she interrupted him. "Just White will do,"
"Alright White," Gold stood up, "Just curious, how long have you been doing this job?"
"Well, for a long time actually, ever since I was 16,"
Gold's eyes looked like they were about to pop out. "16? That long?" he asked, dumbfounded.
"Why do you make it sound so weird?"
"Well, most people around teens would be going on a Pokemon Journey, did you went on one?" Gold asked.
Memories of her journey with Black came flooding in with images. Gold took note of how White's face darkened a bit.
"I mean, I did went on one when I was younger, but that was a long time ago,"
Gold didn't face her. "Really? Did you travel alone? Or did you travel with a friend?"
White tightened his fist. More images of Black came into her mind.
"I used to travel with a friend..." White muttered.
"Oh, is this friend with you now or somewhere else at the moment?" Gold spoke, his voice taking on a different tone.
"Well, he's-"
A deafening explosion cut them off as the building shook a bit.
"What the heck!" White shouted as everyone shook from the collision. "Everyone, return the pokemon back to their pokeballs and get out of the building!" the president immediately ordered as all the pokemon actors were returned to their pokeballs.
"What was that!" White gasped as Gold had a serious look on his face. Ambipom crouching down into a fightning position.
"Not good," he muttered. Everyone in the main hall rushed to the doors to the exit. But just as one was about to reach for the handle, the door was suddenly kicked open, hitting the employee and in came strange men in black uniforms. White widened her eyes as she noticed a blue P at the upper right of their uniforms.
"N-No, it can't be..." she muttered. "Team Plasma?"
"Shit," Gold cursed, "Didn't think they would attack so soon,"
Before White could say anything, one of the intruders threw up a pokeball and out came a Bisharp. The blade pokemon put his arms together and made a terrible screeching noise that caught everyone's attention.
"Everyone kneel down and hands on your head right now!" one of them shouted out loud. "Do anything you think is stupid then you can see bye bye to your very own life!"
White's hand stopped as she was about to reach out to Amanda's pokeball.
Another explosion was heard behind White and Gold on the stage as they both turned around to see more intruders with the same uniform coming from a large hole that was made.
"Well I guess they brought more friends," Gold joked as they both stood side by side.
"Is that her?" one of the intruders called out.
"Seems like, she matches the description," another one answered. White noticed they were looking at her.
Are they talking about me?. One of them took a step forward.
"White Touka," he spoke. "We have orders to bring you with us,"
White gritted her teeth. "Really? And why should I listen to you?" she shot back.
A scream caught her off as she turned her head up and watched in horror as one of the intruders was holding her employee's arm is a very, bent position.
"And if you keep asking questions it'll be more than just the bones we'll break,"
White gritted her teeth, trying to think of a way to get out of this situation that involved her employees getting out safe and sound. She did a double take at the area and doubt started to fill her. The intruders all had them surrounded with pokemon on hand.
Why. She questioned herself. Why did she bring them into this mess. They had all said Team Plasma was disbanded ever since Ghetsis went missing, and she foolishly believed it, thinking everything was back to normal. She tightened her fist, unable to think of anything else, she was about to take a step forward as she heard Gold... yawning?
"Man," he started, " Doesn't this takes us back to the old times Aibo?" he snickered as his Ambipom nodded. What?
"Gold," White hissed, "what are you-"
"Cover your eyes," Gold interrupted her as he used his hand to fumble something around this pocket.
"Whoops" he said as something fell from his pocket. Before she knew it, a very bright light enveloped the whole room. White had to cover he eyes to prevent herself from being blind so she couldn't see a thing, but could only hear.
"Double Edge!" Gold's voice shouted.
Suddenly, a pokemon's cry was heard and swishing noise came from everywhere, accompanied by the pained grunts of the intruders.
Huh? When she felt the light died down, White carefully opened her eyes, and was shocked to see all the grunts and pokemon were lying on the ground fainted. She turned to Gold who was currently wearing his goggles with pokemon beside him. On the ground beside his feet, was a flower like pokemon with leaves for an arm and a sunflower for a face.
Flying beside him, was a large white pokemon with red and blue triangles on it's chest.
"Good job Sunbo, Togebo," Gold smiled as he lifted up his goggles and returned them to their pokeballs. White remembered about her employees and got off the stage, running up the stairs to him.
"White! Wait!" Gold shouted
"I should've expected this, those fools could never do their job properly" a voice spoke out of nowhere that caused White to stop in her tracks.
"W-Who's there!" White shouted out, her hand already grabbing Amanda's pokeball. Suddenly in front of her, a black portal appeared out of nowhere, White stepped back in preparation. A pokemon emerged from the portal, a floating dark purple pokemon with tufts on it's head that looked like a witch's hat.
"Magius..." The pokemon chanted eerily, sending chills down her spine.
"White watch out- !" she heard from behind as Mismagius widened her eyes at something behind her. A purple aura emitting from it. Gold's words were stopped a she turned around to see Gold suddenly collapsed on the ground.
"Gold!" White shouted as she prepared to open Amanda's pokeball.
"Put her to sleep" the voice spoke as the Mismagius was suddenly staring right into White's eyes. Suddenly, all will in her body caused her to stop moving. Amanda's pokeball fell from her fingers and rolled onto the ground.
"W-Wha..." She couldn't finish her words as she dropped onto her knees.
Hypnosis. White recognized the move. She wanted to scream but she couldn't bring herself to move or say anything, eventually, she collapsed to her side, her eyelids slowly closing, eventually drifting off to a deep slumber.
