Winter PoV

Winter was sitting in his room at Jade Mountain Academy minding his own business. He was glad that his annoying clawmate Qibli was away and was reading some scrolls on scavengers he had borrowed from the library.

He was thinking about what he would do if he could talk to a scavenger when he heard a thud behind him. He was ready to snap at Qibli for disrupting his reading when he layed eyes on a scavenger that was remarkably large.

"Three moons. How'd that scavenger get here?" He remarked, when he noticed that the scavenger was unconscious he dragged it towards his sleeping area and checked it over for injuries.

Winter noticed while checking it over that it had hit its head when it presumably fell.

Winter felt like he'd been waiting for hours when the scavenger woke up. When the scavenger looked at him it was remarkably unafraid and looked at Winter with only a mild confusion.

"I thought dragons weren't real." Winter almost passed out when the scavenger actually spoke. The scavenger must've noticed him jump because it said "sorry, didn't mean to scare you.".

After Winter rationalized his thoughts he asked the peculiar scavenger a question, "How can you talk? Scavengers don't normally talk. Are you enchanted?" He asked.

The scavenger clearly hadn't expected a response because it jumped and said "How can you talk? Dragons don't normally talk."

Suddenly the scavenger got up and started walking towards Winter. Suddenly it tripped on the scroll Winter was reading and reached forward to break its fall. Instead of hitting the ground the scavenger cut itself on one of Winter's spines, thankfully not getting any blood on Winter.

The scavenger hit the ground with an "umph" and was clearly in pain from the cut. "Agh, I cut my hand! Sorry about that, if I, y'know, got any blood on you" the scavenger said, gripping onto the cut to stem the bleeding.

Hours later

The scavenger had stopped bleeding when it asked "what's your name anyways?"

"I am Prince Winter of the IceWings, nephew of Queen Glacier, and you?" Said Winter.

"I'm Anthony, though most people call me Ant, nice to meet you." He said reaching out to grab one of Winters talons and then shaking it.

"Well met." Said both Winter and Ant at the same time.

Neither of them noticed the redness draining from Ant's arm, yet.
