"What do you mean Thomas was arrested?" Rick questioned over the phone.

Higgins was agitated and sighed with gritted teeth. "HPD showed up here and arrested Magnum. They said something about robbing someone at gunpoint. It makes absolutely zero sense."

"Katsumoto has to know that he's innocent!" Rick yelled angrily.

"We'll be there soon and we'll figure out what's going on," TC replied steadily before the call abruptly ended.

Juliet hung up her phone and paced in her study. She was thankful that Kumu was at the cultural center with the Lads and had missed the encounter with the police. Kumu would have been beside herself if she had witnessed Magnum being taken away in handcuffs.

How could HPD think Magnum was guilty of such a thing? Who accused him of this and what proof do they have? After she released some anxious energy by her quick steps, she took a breath and settled in front of her laptop.

She tried hacking into HPD's servers to find out who made the report, but she had no luck. As she was pondering what to do next, the alert for the front gate popped up on her screen and she quickly let Rick and TC onto the estate. Just a few moments later, both men rushed into the study.

"Jules, please tell me you found something," Rick pleaded immediately, standing on the opposite side of the desk from Higgins.

Juliet shook her head, "Unfortunately I'm not getting anywhere by hacking into the police servers."

"Let's take a second to breathe, Orville," TC said, putting a hand on his friend's shoulder. Even though he was promoting peace and deep breathing, Higgins could sense the anxiety in the background of his voice. "What exactly went down?"

Higgins took a breath before explaining. "We were outside on the lawn this morning when I was notified that someone was at the gate. When I saw it was the police, Magnum and I went to talk to them and see what was going on. Once we went outside the gate, Katsumoto approached us and said Magnum was being arrested. When he explained the charges, I knew something was awry, but there was nothing we could do. Magnum went with them after protesting shortly, trying to convince them that they had the wrong man."

"Did they say anything about who accused him of the crime? Did they give any details?" Rick asked apprehensively.

Higgins shook her head. "Not enough to go on. Once Magnum was taken away, Katsumoto stayed back and told me a woman reported being robbed, and when she gave a description of her attacker, she described a man with a very similar appearance to Magnum. Apparently after some time with a sketch artist, everyone in HPD recognized it as Magnum."

TC shook his head. "I'm not buying it. I know he's always short on cash, but our boy robbing someone? Hell no."

"There's no way in Hell," Rick agreed.

"I don't think Katsumoto believes it either. He seemed eager to tell me about the woman giving a little too perfect description of Magnum. He also didn't seem happy to arrest him. Even though he's mentioned the possibility of it occurring before, I don't think he actually ever wanted to do it," Higgins replied. "He also said that due to safety concerns, Magnum would be kept somewhere away from all of the people that he put in prison."

TC pulled up two more chairs and placed them on either side of Higgins. Once he and Rick each took a seat, TC asked, "So what now? How can we help?"

"I'm going to see if I can find video footage of the woman that accused Magnum," Juliet replied.

After a series of clicks and lots of typing, she found a way into the security cameras facing the entrance of HPD headquarters. After some fast-forwarding and re-winding, Juliet found the only civilian woman that had entered HPD headquarters within the past 12 hours: a woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing sunglasses, a hat, and clothing with no logos or labels. The mystery woman had entered the building only a couple hours before Magnum was arrested.

"That's gotta be her," TC said.

"I agree," Higgins said with some restraint. "The problem is she never shows her face to the camera so there's not a lot to go off of."

"So, we can't ID this woman. Now what?" Rick asked.

"Well, since we know Magnum didn't rob anyone, let's think of reasons why this woman wanted to get him in police custody," Juliet offered.

"Maybe she got the description wrong," TC offered. "Especially for civilians, it's hard to focus when being attacked or dealing with a traumatic experience."

Rick shook his head. "That may be true, but how would she have gotten all of the details perfect for a sketch artist to draw Thomas?"

"Rick's right," Juliet said. "I think whoever this woman is, she did it on purpose."

"Exactly," Rick replied. "So… who wants to put Thomas in jail and why?"

Juliet snorted. "You want a list of his enemies? That's going to be quite lengthy."

TC sighed. "Yeah, if we have to go through everyone that has a grudge against Thomas, we're going to be here forever."
