TC was just about to turn into the driveway to Robin's Nest when he heard the unmistakable sound of a gunshot. Trying not to panic, he quickly punched in the gate code Higgins had given him and sped up the driveway. In addition to the gunshot, seeing the front door wide open caused TC's mind to start racing. He quickly parked the van and called Detective Katsumoto.

"TC, you're not going to convince me to release Magnum just because you want me to," Katsumoto said tiredly before TC even had the chance to speak.

Completely ignoring the detective, TC went straight to the point. "Gordon, you need to get some uniforms at Robin's Nest right now, something's not right," he said in a rushed whisper.

Caught completely off guard, Katsumoto changed his tone to serious. "What's going on?"

Then another shot rang out, this time a little too close for comfort.

"What was that?" Katsumoto asked in a very urgent tone.

"Another gunshot. Get the police here now," TC replied. He hung up the phone without listening to what the detective was trying to say.

TC turned off the van and grabbed his weapon from under his seat. I need to thank Thomas for making this a habit. Then he quickly and quietly made his way to the open front door of the main house.

"Clear the house before we leave," TC heard a woman say. From her accent, he surmised that she was Russian. "We don't need any surprises."

Using his military training, TC entered the house silently with his weapon raised. Since the woman was talking out loud, he knew there was at least one other person besides the woman herself. Focusing all of his senses, he quietly cleared one room at a time, staying on high alert.

As TC was about to enter another room, a pair of arms holding a gun appeared through the doorway and crossed his view. Instinctively, TC knocked the gun out of the man's hands and connected his fist to the unknown man's stomach. The thought of shooting him came to mind, but TC didn't know how many other people were in the house so he figured stealth was of the upmost importance, so he quickly holstered his own weapon against the small of his back, tucked in by the waistband of his pants while the unknown man tried to regain his breath.

Once disarmed, the other man let out a grunt before lunging at TC. Even though the other man was similar in size to TC, the former Marine fared better in the ensuing fistfight, until the mystery man pulled out a rather large knife. In the blur of the fight, TC noticed that there was already blood on the blade before it reached his own skin and his heart sank. Whose blood is that? Rick? Higgins?

The attacker managed to get a few slashes in before TC disarmed the man once again before he put the dark-haired man in a chokehold. The other man struggled, but TC saw the gunshot wound in his shoulder and knew that he wasn't going to have the strength to get out of TC's hold.

Once the other man stopped struggling, TC questioned him with a deep, quiet tone. "Who are you and why are you here?"

The man muttered something in a different language as TC noticed movement across the room. Spinning around while keeping the man in front of himself, TC saw a familiar woman pointing a gun at him. TC kept his left arm around the man's neck, grabbed his gun with his right hand, and pointed it at the woman whom he had recognized as the woman from the surveillance videos. There was a brief standoff before TC spoke.

"You got Thomas arrested to break in tonight. Why?" TC asked with obvious fury in his voice.

The woman smirked. "I don't need to tell you anything. Especially since you're going to be dead soon."

TC raised an eyebrow. "What? You're going to shoot through your friend to get me?" At the question, the man TC was holding squirmed a little, trying to break free from TC's grip. He was unsuccessful and groaned from the pain in his shoulder. TC then added sarcastically, "Yeah, good luck with that."

TC watched as the Russian woman considered her options, her facial expressions giving away her thoughts. As soon as TC heard the gun go off, he felt himself fall to the ground, but he made sure to get some shots off as well. He hit his target, and the woman slumped to the ground, lying still once she hit the floor.

When he hit the floor, TC mentally checked himself for gunshot wounds, but he concluded that the woman had in fact shot her counterpart, but the bullet didn't reach him. TC quickly got out from under the now motionless man, got rid of the knife and gun before checking him for a pulse. He was alive, just unconscious, so TC quickly went over to the woman. After clearing the weapons, TC checked the woman for a pulse, but there was none.

All right; one dead, one unconscious, TC noted. How many more are there?

TC cleared the main house one room at a time, not running into any other "house guests" while he did so. When TC entered the kitchen, the scene stunned the former Marine.

He immediately noticed four people on the floor, and after putting his gun away, he first went to Rick, who was closest to him and laying face-down on the floor with small pools of blood flowing from him, the worst one forming around his abdomen. TC dropped to the floor and checked Rick's neck for a pulse, and he was relieved when he found it quickly.

"Rick," TC said. After no response, he went to shake the other man's shoulders, but one look at his right shoulder told TC it was dislocated, so he opted to gently flip his friend over on his back and pat his cheek. "Come on, Orville. Wake up man."

After a few agonizing seconds, Rick's face grimaced as he moaned in pain.

"That's it Bro, come on back," TC encouraged.

Rick opened his eyes to find a worried TC hovering over him. "TC?"

"Yeah man, it's me," TC said, relieved.

Rick reached his hand to head to attempt to alleviate the throbbing in his skull, but the moment he moved his right shoulder, he yelped in pain. To make matters worse, the movement caused his entire torso to scream in agony. Not having many options, Rick placed his left hand where the worst pain was, gritted his teeth, and squeezed his eyes shut as he attempted to push the scream back down.

TC quickly grabbed a hand towel and pressed it against the stab wound in Rick's abdomen. "I got you, it's okay."

"Ribs," Rick hissed through his teeth.

"Okay, your ribs hurt. I understand, but I need to stop the bleeding," TC explained.

Rick slapped TC's hands, but when the larger man refused to move, Rick forced himself to speak. "I got it. Help Jules."

TC figured he could trust his friend to apply pressure himself, so once he placed Rick's own hand on the towel he stood and looked around the rest of the room. There were two men on the floor that he didn't recognize before he noticed Juliet, who was in an awkward position on the floor, laying on her back.

He immediately rushed to her side and checked for a pulse, and after far too long in TC's opinion, he found her faint, thready pulse. She was barely alive.

"Higgy Baby, wake up," TC cooed gently. He didn't attempt to shake her or even touch her face for fear of injuring her even more.

He noticed her blood was spilling form several injuries, but the obvious bullet wounds in her side and left thigh were the most concerning. He grabbed more towels and placed them on both gunshot locations and pressed down on them. When she still didn't move or make any sound, TC's heart started racing.

"Come on, Higgins," TC encouraged, but there was no reply.

"How is she?" Rick muttered from the other side of the room.

Not taking his eyes off of Juliet, TC replied. "Not great, but she's alive."

The sirens and flashing lights suddenly started to appear, and TC could only hope the paramedics would get there in time to save Juliet and help Rick. Within moments of the sights and sounds of first responders appearing, Katsumoto rushed into the kitchen with his gun drawn. After taking in the scene, he quickly locked eyes with TC.

"I need a sitrep," the detective said, not even lowering his weapon in case someone else appeared.

"There were four intruders. The woman in the other room is dead, and the man in the room with her is at least unconscious- she shot him trying to shoot me," TC quickly started to explain. "These two guys haven't moved since I arrived. The rest of the house is clear. Rick's awake, but Higgy here may be knocking on death's door. She needs to go to the hospital."

"Thanks for coming," Rick quietly said from his spot on the floor, still pressing the now blood-soaked towel to his abdomen. His eyes remained closed, trying to hide the pain.

Katsumoto nodded, holstered his weapon, and radioed to the first responders that must have been on the property.

Within minutes, Higgins and Rick were rushed into ambulances and sent to the hospital while the four intruders were dealt with accordingly. In all of the commotion of the previous half an hour, TC hadn't noticed that he too was in need of medical attention, but Katsumoto did.

"TC, you also need to go to the hospital," the detective stated.

Puzzled, the large man looked at the detective. "What? Why? I'm fine."

Katsumoto raised an eyebrow before he motioned to TC's torso and right leg. The former Marine glanced down at himself and noticed that the first person he had run into had managed to slice through his shirt and first couple layers of skin with the knife. Upon further inspection, he wasn't putting much weight on his right leg, and the cause seemed to be the massive gash that basically drew a line from his hip to his knee. Blood was streaming down his leg, and TC hadn't felt any pain until he saw the red substance start to pool on the floor below him.

Reluctantly, he allowed the first responders to help him into an ambulance before being rushed to the same hospital as both Rick and Higgins. As he was in transit, his mind was racing, but there were two questions that kept popping up: What the hell happened? Will Higgins survive?
