When Magnum entered the hospital with Katsumoto, his heart was racing. All he knew was there was a break-in and shooting at Robin's Nest and his three closest friends were in the hospital. Katsumoto may have mentioned other things while he drove to the hospital, but Magnum's mind was racing with too many thoughts to pay attention.

After walking through the doors and following directions to the appropriate waiting room, Thomas immediately spotted TC. He was standing, leaning against a wall with crutches underneath his arms. He was staring at another doorway so intensely, that he didn't notice Magnum or Katsumoto walk into the room.

"TC!" Thomas shouted, quickly making his way to his friend with the detective right behind him.

The former Marine broke his gaze from the door leading to the ICU and saw his friend walking towards him. "Hey TM. I see Katsumoto broke you out." He tried to smirk, but he couldn't even manage a small grin.

Once he was standing in front of his friend, Thomas got a good look at TC. The larger man wore a torn-up shirt that didn't completely hide the bandages on his torso. He also had small bandages on his forearms and he wasn't putting much weight on his right leg. In addition to his physical injuries, Magnum knew from past experiences that TC was trying to hide all of the emotions swirling around inside him.

"Are you okay?" Thomas asked cautiously.

TC nodded slightly. "I'm fine, just a couple scrapes and bruises. The doc doesn't want me putting a lot of weight on the stitches in my leg, that's why I have these," he said, gesturing to the crutches.

After a few moments of analyzing his friend, Thomas decided TC was telling the truth, or at least enough of it, so he returned the nod. "What the hell happened?"

TC sighed and shook his head. "I don't know everything, but I'll tell you what I do know. We were investigating the woman that accused you of robbing her at gunpoint. After a few hours, I left to grab us some food while Rick and Higgins kept working. When I came back there were gunshots and the front door was open. I called Katsumoto before I went in. There were four targets, one of them being the woman that got you arrested. She seemed to be in charge of the whole thing."

TC paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "Rick and Higgins put up one hell of a fight. Two of the targets were already neutralized, and after I dealt with the other two, I found Rick and Higgy both out on the kitchen floor. I got Rick to wake up, but Higgy didn't," then another short pause. "Things didn't look good, TM."

The pounding in Magnum's chest threatened to require him to receive medical treatment as well. He tried to keep his composure, but he knew he didn't hide his emotions as well as he'd like. "You completely skipped the part that caused this to happen," Thomas said, motioning to TC and his crutches. "Don't think I missed that, TC" he gently warned.

"It's not a big deal, Thomas. Really, I'm fine," TC replied.

"Yeah, I guess for you guys getting shot at and stabbed by Russians is a normal thing," Katsumoto said sarcastically. This statement was met with a glare from TC and a slightly surprised look from Magnum.

Magnum looked back at TC. "We had a deal, Brother. Don't skip or ignore anything. We don't hide things from each other."

TC huffed. "The guy I fought with had a knife, but either Higgins or Rick had hit him in the shoulder already so the fight didn't last long. Then the woman appeared. She shot at me, hit her partner instead, and I shot her. She's dead. She won't be able to falsely accuse anyone again."

Katsumoto noticed how casual the conversation seemed to the former military men. Being civilians, it was ironic that Magnum and his friends get in more firefights than the detective does while working for HPD.

Thomas waited for more information, but when TC didn't continue, he took a breath. "How are they? Any updates?" Thomas asked nobody in particular.

"Not on Rick or Higgins," TC replied. "Last I heard, Higgins was in surgery and Rick was getting his ribs looked at."

"As for your visitors, all four of them were Russian," Katsumoto started. "The woman and one of the men were pronounced dead at the scene. One of the men went to the hospital, but didn't survive the surgery. The man that stabbed TC is alive and recovering from the two gunshot wounds. We're hoping he'll explain what they were doing breaking into the estate."

"He got shot by his own partner, and he's the only one left alive. I'm sure he'll want to make a deal," Magnum said.

Katsumoto nodded. "I think so too. By the way, I called Ms. Tuileta and let her know what's going on. She's taking care of the dogs and have her under police protection, but she wants updates on all of you. She was also quite upset when she asked why the Russians broke into the house and I didn't have an answer for her."

"They came for Jules," a voice said from somewhere nearby. The trio of men turned to see Rick walking away from the ICU corridor. He looked like a mess.

Rick limped slowly towards the group. His right arm was in a sling, bruises and cuts were scattered all over his skin, and the thick wrap around his torso was visible under the scrub top he was wearing. The most disturbing thing to Thomas was the look on Rick's face. He wasn't happy or laughing like normal; he instead looked like a mixture of anger, hurt, and confusion.

"How did you get released already?" Katsumoto asked incredulously when Rick reached the group.

Rick shrugged, but grimaced in pain as he did. "Once basically everything was checked out and wrapped up, I released myself."

After a couple seconds of silence, TC chuckled softly. "Of course you did."

"What's the damage?" Thomas asked his friend somberly.

Rick pursed his lips in consideration. He didn't want his friends to worry about him, but he also didn't want to cause them to worry more by omitting things. "Dislocated shoulder, concussion, busted ribs, and I got a knife into my stomach." Then he glanced upwards like he had to think before looking back at Thomas. "Well, I guess technically it didn't hit my stomach, but I still had to get stiches in the same area of my ribs, which completely sucked. Overall, I feel like crap, but it's not the worst thing that's ever happened to any of us, am I right?"

Thomas was stunned. Within one day, he was arrested and in jail while his friends had to fight for their lives. He felt absolutely awful and responsible, but he didn't know how to change any of the current circumstances.

"Here, Rick, you should sit down," Thomas said as he grabbed a chair and put it next to TC. The least he could do was to help his friends any way possible.

"Thomas, are you going to mother-hen me?" Rick questioned.

"If I have to, yes," Magnum said.

Without another word, Rick slowly walked to the chair Thomas had grabbed and hissed through his teeth as he lowered himself into a sitting position.

"Are you sure you shouldn't stay in there longer?" TC asked.

Rick shook his head. "I'm fine. Just a few days of taking it easy should do the trick."

Katsumoto huffed as he took out a pen and paper. "You guys need to find another hobby or something. But while we're on the subject, I need your statement. We're missing a bit of information."

Rick furrowed his brow in concentration. The concussion was making recalling his memories harder than he expected. "We were trying to figure out why Thomas got arrested. We were in the study, but Jules left. I think she heard something. I was on the phone with one of my contacts when I heard a gunshot come from the kitchen."

Pausing for a moment to recall the rest of his memories, Rick subconsciously rubbed his temple. "When I got there, there were three men and one woman- the lady that got Thomas arrested. They split up: the woman and one of the men fought with Higgins, I had to deal with the other two. I think Higgins was already injured, but she held her own. We all fought. Higgins and I each shot a guy. Then Higgins got shot, I got stabbed, and before I was knocked out, the woman said they were there for Jules."

By the end of his short statement, Rick had a headache, and his facial expression didn't hide it. Detective Katsumoto realized this and decided the former Marine had been through enough for one day and didn't need to be bothered any more by prying.

"Thank you, I will get this information to the other officers working the case," Katsumoto said. He then took out his phone and walked away, apparently immediately relaying the information.

Once Katsumoto was out of sight and earshot, Rick looked at his friends. "Any update on Jules?"

TC shook his head. "No. As far as we know, she's still in surgery."

Rick closed his eyes and leaned his head against the wall behind him. "Damn. Well I guess no news is good news, right?"

Magnum sighed. "I guess."
