~Enthusiasm~

By Rae

There are times in life when being 'skilled' becomes a necessary thing. Computer technicians are 'skilled' in their work. It is hoped that politicians are skilled in their area of expertise. The valiant individuals who risk their lives to save those of others, police and fire-fighters, are skilled in their professions.

Skill is necessary.

Yet there are times in life when skill is a grossly overrated thing, when a trait less valued is the more desired. Most certainly, when your life is threatened in a perilous situation, you would want a person skilled in rescuing to come to your aid.

At the moment, Ken is not in a perilous situation. His life is not endanger and he has no need for the police, the fire department, a computer technician, or a politician. He is, quite honestly, only too happy to be exactly where he is: being kissed by his best friend.

This, see, is where skill normally plays a part. Many people would say that being skilled in kissing is a wonderful thing, but Daisuke, quite honestly, is one of the most unskilled kissers the world has ever seen. His kisses are wet and sloppy and a little too forceful, but Ken… well, Ken is not complaining, is he? Because Ken understands that skill is not everything, and that sometimes…enthusiasm is.
