*NOTE* This is a rewritten of the story "Inferno and Lotuses" with the same OC. i hope you enjoy it.
My eyes peeled open towards the bright morning sun that shines down on my small cabin in the forest of Greece. The birds hum the morning tune outside my window. I sat up from my bed and rubbed my eyes.
Well, I guess it's time to start my usual routine.
I got out of the soft bed and changed out of my pajamas.I put on a tight black short sleeved shirt and brown pants. I tighten up my black boots as well. Looking into the mirror on the wall stares back a girl with burgundy red hair down to her back with chopped bangs, a fair skin tone and amber eyes.
While snactching a handful of bread from the counter, I headed out to the small garden that leaned against the wall of my cabin. Tomato flowers bloom from each branch from the stalk. Red, green and orange bell peppers were grown between each tomato plant. A row of carrots sprung from the earth, ready to be picked next to a bustle of leaves that sprouted from potatoes deep in the soil.
I grab my wooden basket on the ground, harvest said crops and head back into my cabin.
The day was filled with my daily schedule of cutting down tree with my axe preparing meals, and sweeping the quaint cabin I call home.
Everything is fine.
As dawn turned to dusk, I headed back into my house, lit a fire under the stove to make stew of the produce I grew. I cut the vegetables and placed them in the pot with a bit of oil. It was a few minutes in while cooking that I realized that I was out of flour in my cupboards. I sighed.
Hopefully the bakery is still open in town.
I headed into the local town. Small wooden houses lined the streets along with shops of various sizes, selling various products. Kids were being called back in the house as the sun set.
As I enter the bakery, the fresh scent of baked bread fills my nose. Rows of baskets of bread lined the shelves that hung from the wall. I grabbed a couple of apples that were in the produce basket and a small sack of flour.
My eyes caught two gentlemen while they walked behind me in line. One was wearing a peculiar black and red uniform while the other was dressed formally. The one with the uniform had silky white hair shaped to his head with matching eyes along with a red pentagram scar on his forehead. He was carrying three boxes of frosted doughnuts. The other man, who appeared to be a bit older, had long blonde hair that was braided down his back.
After I paid for my groceries, the white haired boy placed the boxes of doughnuts on the counter.
"Excuse me, do you know anything about the sky lighting up at night?" He asked.
The cashier scratches his beard and scans the three men. "I reckon you three are travelers?" He bags up the boxes of doughnuts in a white bag. "At night, the sky turns bright red in the forest. No one really knows why, but the townspeople who do go into the forest at night never come back".
The man with blonde hair and spots on his forehead gives the baker money. "Thank you for the information," he said as he grabbed the bag and turned around. The two of us make eye contact for a split second before I turned around to open the door.
At the same time, a tall man entered through the bakery door, colliding with me and making me fall to the ground and spill over the bags of apples I bought. The fruit scattered across the floor. I looked at the person responsible for the collision. Strong blue eyes met my amber ones. He was wearing the same peculiar uniform as the white haired boy. His long ivory hair was tied towards the back of his skull. "Watch where you're going," he scowled.
His attitude struck a nerve in me. Before I could say anything, I heard footsteps behind me. It was the white haired boy, kneeling next to me with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about him," he started to gather the apples that rolled onto the floor, dust them off with his uniform and placed them back in the bag. The three of us stood up as he handed me the bag.
I nod my head and continue making my way out the door
"Oh before you go," I stopped my footsteps. "Do you know anything about the lights during the night sky"
I sighed as my eyes glanced to the left. "No I don't." The one with the blonde hair squinted at me right before I closed the door to the bakery.
They don't need to know.
I make my way back into the forest. The moon shines bright in the night sky which was painted with stars. Although each tree looks like an exact copy of each other, I've memorized the path to my lone cabin.
I hear a sound. Mechanical footsteps rustle through the woods. Getting closer.
Not again.
Each footstep grew louder with each step I took.
My footsteps quicken.
Theirs do as well.
RUN!
I dash through the woods, praying that each step takes me further away from that thing. But it was too late. I turned around. A gray creature with a clown face smirked. its bulbous stomach shared the same symbol the albino boy had on his face and it stood tall amongst the trees.
"Give me the innocence!" The creature growled.
Damn it. Not again.
I dropped my groceries onto the grass right before the monster attacked.
Bright red flames boost me up into the air as I dodged the creature piercing attack. I pulled my already flaming fists back behind my chest, landed my feet onto the creature and lodged my fist into its head. A light circle formed around my fist. Right before it's head exploded into smithereens, I pushed my hand out of the demon as the sky lit up, exposing the flames.
I landed back onto the ground. When I turned around to grab my bag of groceries, I spot the same trio that were at the bakery gawking at me.
"You're an exorcist" the boy with the scar said.
"You guys followed me?!" I yelled.
"Wait! We're sorry for stalking you! We're," the albino boy scratched his head. "We're just doing our jobs."
I rolled my eyes. "Well you found out why the sky lights up at night. Your job is done."
I grabbed my bag of groceries and attempted to continue my walk back home until I felt a strong grip on my shoulder. "We need to talk. Got a minute?"
I turn my head. It was the the long haired one with a scowl. I gave him an insincere smile "I actually don't. Now will you excuse me,"
His grip got stronger "That was a rhetorical question,"
"Kanda!" The albino yelled. "Don't be rude to her!" He grabbed his hand and pushed it away. "Again I'm so sorry about him. But we do need to chat with you."
I rolled my eyes. "It's getting pretty dark. You guys should head back. As you can see it gets pretty dangerous at night here."
"Don't worry," the one with two dots on his forehead joined in. "We can take care of ourselves"
"We can help you! Don't you at least want to know what those things are?"
I sighed. It seems like even if I do walk off, they will follow me to my house. "Fine. Follow me."
I make my way back to my house, followed by three strange men.
