Prologue
Welcome to Gravity Falls
2013
In the year 2013, two teenagers come into the sleepy town of Gravity Falls, a peaceful town in the state of Oregon. The two teens were thirteen-year-old Mabel and Manny "Dipper" Pines, the grand-niece and nephew of Stanly, and Stanford Pines, who are twins themselves. Stan and Ford, right now, are overseas; so they won't be in town for another two weeks. This means that Dipper and Mabel will be staying with their friend Soos, who now owns the mystery shack, which is a big house in the forest that was owned by their grunkle stan. Manny Pines, or Dipper for short, is the smart one. He has grown nearly twice his size since they've been there the year before, he has changed the style he had, instead of nerdy cargo shorts, an orange t-shirt under a blue vest, and worn-out tennis shoes, he wore a white t-shirt, under a blue and white checkered flannel shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and a brand new pair of timberland boots, that were tan. On top of his head sat a dirty, dark-brown lumberjack hat that belonged to his friend (and his ceaseless crush) Wendy Corduroy. His "WILD" hair was longer, and brushed down, so he can wear her hat. Mabel Pines is the fashionista and the kindest person you'd ever cross. She is way taller than she was the year before, being a foot taller than her twin, who still has time to grow. She wears the majority of the clothing she designed herself. As of now, she wore her traditional pink sweater, with a rainbow shooting star knitted into the chest, purple leggings, with blue and pink Nike shoes. She had her hair tied up in a colorful bandanna, with stars all over it. They sat in the back of an empty bus, looking out the windows, as they made their way to the western border of the town.
Dipper looked to his left and saw the northern part of town. In the far distance, he could see the top half of the cliffside. The cliff was a kilometer tall and stood as the gateway into northern Oregon Looking at the shape of the cliff made him think of when his grunkle ford took him to an alien ship in the southern valley that crashed millions of years ago. He showed Dipper how the ship could have crashed through the cliff, forming the Valley they'd entered today. As he continued to look around the cliff, he looked at the closed-down railroad, which was over hundred and fifty feet below the top. Looking at this brought back the memory of the time he and his sister almost left town, due to problems with another kid, named lil' Gideon, who stole the deed to their grunkle stan's shack. As they left town, Gideon used a fifty-foot robot to try and kidnap Mabel. But they took him down, and with the help of grunkle stan, exposed him as being a fraud. Taking his attention off of the cliff, he looked around and saw the broken water tower. The water tower stood in the heart of town, in a rundown park. They would go there with Wendy, and her group of friends, Nate, Lee, Thompson, Tambry, and Robbie.
The twins were about five minutes from their destination: the Yamaha bus Station, which was on the corner of Crescent Boulevard, and Washington Road. Mabel looks to the northwest, where a large mansion sat on top of the hill. The old northwest mansion, Mabel thought, the Northwests were cheating, selfish snobs, that thought for themselves, well, except for their only daughter, Pacifica. Pacifica northwest was a terrible child, she scared people into being her friends, she was the queen of town, until the pines twins came.
She met Mabel at a party that Grunkle stan held, competing with her to win the party crown, and become queen of the dance floor. Later on, Pacifica invited them to a ball, which was held at her mansion. She let Mabel bring her friends, Candy, and Grenda, while Dipper helped her hunt down a lumberjack ghost that haunted the northwest mansion for generations. In the wake of Weirdmageddon, her parents turned against the town, joining the side of Bill Cypher(a powerful dream demon that almost ended the world), while Pacifica helped the two pairs of twins, wendy, soos, and the creatures of the forest, take down Bill, and stop weirdmageddon.
As Mabel thought of the Northwests, the bus pulled into the station. When the bus was at a full stop, the twins got up and walked out of the bus. They walked over to the luggage storage on the outside of the bus. While Mabel grabbed their bags, which were two backpacks and a large duffle bag, Dipper closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He brought in the smell of pine and maple. When he opened his eyes, he took in his surroundings. "Mabel", he said, grinning at his sister, he looked down at him. "Yeah Dip", she said with curiosity.
"We're home". He finished, reaching for his bag. When he got it, he walked off towards the station exit, while Mable carried the duffle bag, and her backpack. When they walked out of the station, dipper hears what sounded like the voice of an angle:
"Hey guys, we're over here". He heard a girl's voice call out. When the duo looked, they saw their friend, Soos, standing in front of a 1960s ford bronco. On the other side of the vehicle, Dipper sees the girl he fell in love with, what felt like an eternity ago. Wendy Corduroy is not your average sixteen-year-old girl, she is tall for her age, with dipper being nearly her height. She is the daughter of the town lumberjack, Manly Dan. Dipper stopped to look at her, she wore a red and black plaid shirt, black skinny jeans, and a dirty pair of boots. He looked at her hair, which was still bright orange, like a winter fire, and it was slightly longer. On top of Wendy's head was a blue and white hat, with a blue pinetree on the front. My hat, dipper thought.
"Soos, Wendy"! They exclaimed, running to their friends and giving them a hug. Mabel hugged Soos, and Dipper hugged Wendy. Then they switched, with Mabel hugging Wendy, and Dipper and Soos doing their secret friend handshake they made the year before. Wendy pulled her phone out, "let's take a picture". She said in pure excitement. They huddled up and shot a photo. When they disbanded, soos exclaimed:
"You dudes have gotten so big", he paused and looked at them, "especially you, Mabel". He finished, pointing at her. It's true though, she was the tallest one there. This made Dipper blush in jealousy because he was the shortest one there. Hell, he was still shorter than Wendy, who was around five and a half feet tall. Wendy noticed him make a sad face, and he looked back at her. While the other two got the twins' luggage in the back of the old Bronco, Wendy pulled him aside, and comforted him, "don't worry man, you still have a long while to grow, I want you to remember that, maybe someday you'll be taller than your sister". Dipper looked at her lovingly emerald eyes, and smiled at her. All he did was nod, and thank her.
Soos looked around and noticed that something was missing, Mabel's pet pig Waddles. So he asked her: "where is Waddles"? This made Mabel upset, as she really missed her pig. "He had to stay home for the summer". She sniffled, "he got really big since Christmas". She finished, as they walked back around the SUV. "oh, what a bummer, I loved that pig". Soos said, trying his best to comfort her, but nothing worked. "Welp, whaddya dudes say we load up in the bronco and get to the shack". Soos continued, "later we are going to Greasy's for a welcome-back surprise party". He finished, realizing what he just said, "dammit, I ruined it"! He exclaimed, making the others laugh.
"Any word on grunkle stan, and grunkle ford"? Dipper asked soos, as they got in the SUV. Soos looked at him in the rearview mirror and sighed, this made Dipper anxious, because his grunkles were out at sea, in the most dangerous part of the world. Please don't be bad news, please don't be bad news, Dipper kept thinking the worst has happened, man, my anxiety is really bad. "Yeah dude, I talked to them last night, they said their ship won't be in Portland for another three and a half weeks". Dipper sighed with relief, knowing his grunkles were okay.
As they got fully situated in the Bronco, Wendy turned around to face Dipper, with a grin on her face, "would you like to hang out tomorrow, I've got a car"? She asked, wanting him to say yes. It's Dipper, of course, he'd say yes, she thought. Ever since the twins came back for winter break, Wendy had been developing a crush on Dipper, and she wants to spend as much time with him as she ca, before he goes back home. Dipper dorkily nods, "is it just going to be us, or is the gang joining us"? He asked
"I just wanted it to be us, unless you want them to". she tried to say but got interrupted by Dipper.
"No that's fine, it could just be us". He said fast, but soon realized what he did, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off". He rambled, then Wendy began laughing.
"You don't need to apologize, man, it could just be us then". She said, trying to get him to calm down, by grabbing his hand and gently squeezing it. "It's good to have you back, guys". She said, and smiled, before turning around in the passenger seat and facing the road. They continued their rather short journey home for the summer.
Seven Years Later
Wendy looked at the picture she took of her, Mabel, and Dipper. The only thing she had of her two best friends. Those were the days, she thought, beginning to frown. Sure, she may have had friends, but most of them left the town, except for her lifelong friend, Tambry, and her fiance, Robbie Valentino, who had dated Wendy long ago. Her father, Manly-Dan, had died the year before, at the age of sixty. His cause of death was a mystery, all Wendy knew was he had perished in a bad lumber mill accident, leaving his lumber company to Wendy, and her brother Gus, who is seventeen now, with Wendy is twenty-three. Her other brothers, Marcus and Kevin, had also left town, running off to do their own thing. The last wendy had seen of them was at their dad's funeral, where she found out they had moved to Los Angeles to make music about their life.
Right now, she was sitting in her bedroom on the second floor of her cabin, reminiscing the last time she had seen the younger twins, who moved to new york, from what she heard, too far to come back. The other twins, Stanley(Stan), and Stanford(Ford) are still in gravity falls, leaving now and then to go on expeditions, with Soos(another friend of the twins, and a son figure to Stan) running the Mystery Shack. Wendy had taken an apprenticeship with Ford, who had become like a father to her as well. She would go on missions with him and help him with engineering, and science experiments.
She heard the doorbell to her cabin ring, so she got up and went to answer it. She opened the door to see a tall man, in his mid-seventies, standing on the porch. He had a red sweatshirt on, and black jeans, under a tan trench coat. A pistol holster was noticeable through the coat. He wore square-shaped eyeglasses, with crazy-gray hair, and some white hairs here and there. When Wendy realized who this man was, she smiled, as the man standing beyond the door was Ford pines. "Hey, Ford''. She said, grinning.
"It's almost ready". The old man said, looking at the younger one. Wendy walked back into the kitchen, with Ford in tow. She grabbed a cup of coffee and gave it to him. As he drank it, he began to talk: "when we get back to the shack we need to get the trailer out of that garage, because we are going upstate to portland to meet someone". he explained, "he said that he found parts from a ship overseas, and is selling them to us for ten thousand". He finished explaining, drinking his coffee.
"Only ten thousand"? Wendy asked, confused.
"Yeah". Ford answered, "he did say that the parts he found were from a long-lost alien ship that crashed in the pacific". He continued to explain, "we need these parts, for shielding the shack". He finished, then Wendy got up, and grabbed her black and red plaid shirt.
"Okay then, let's get going". She said enthusiastically, as she grabbed her lumber hat and left the room.
