The next thing I'll be posting will be an update on my Bad Blood fanfiction as I am now on holiday and will be taking a break from posting chapters for my main stories; A Life Turned Upside Down and The Rise Of The Dark Lord. I will probably update both of those in a week or two, once I'm back from my holiday.

Happy Halloween!
ONESHOT. BEAUTIFUL YULE BALL
"Where's Hermione?" asked Harry looking around the Great Hall to see if he couple spot her. The Great Hall had been completely transformed into a section for a big empty dance floor and another that had been filled with round tables filled with food and drink and chairs and then there were long tables with benches on either side. Ron shrugged.
"She's probably crying in her room," he replied, looking around too. "It's a pity she's so stubborn, I would have brought her to the dance myself if she just admitted that she didn't have a date," he added shrugging. Harry sighed.
"So you really think she's lying?" he asked his best friend. Ron shrugged again.
"Don't know," he replied. "But come on, she would have told us if she had a date wouldn't she," he added. "I mean we're her best friends, there's no reason to not tell us," Ron said. Harry nodded.
"I better go find Cho now, McGonagall said that the four champions and their dates have to open up the dance," Harry said signing and pulling a face. Ron grinned.
"Have fun!" he said snickering. "I'm going to go find Lavender," he added. Harry and Ron separated, both looking for their dates in the crowd of students.
"Harry, over here!" called Cho Chang, smiling and waving. Harry stopped in his tracks and stared at Cho as she made her way through the crowd towards him. A smile crept up on his face as he held out his hand. She was absolutely beautiful.
"You're beautiful Cho," he said breathlessly, twirling her around on the spot. She giggled and blushed.

Hermione sighed. She was standing outside the Great Hall, not daring to go in. She kept nervously readjusting her dress and patting her hair into place. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, she thought to herself.
"Hello, beautiful," came a soft voice from behind her. She turned around to face a splendid-looking and wide-smiling Cedric Diggory. He took her hand and kissed it while grinning at her.
"Hi you," Hermione replied blushing.
"You are absolutely stunning," noted Cedric grinning and spinning Hermione around on the spot. She giggled. "The most beautiful girl at the ball, I'm sure," he added. Hermione rolled her eyes at him but couldn't help herself from grinning.
"Says you handsome," she replied, smiling up at him. He smiled back.
"Are you ready to do this love?" Cedric asked her, cupping her face in his hands. Hermione frowned a little. The question he was asking her right now was more complicated than it seemed. She and Cedric had been dating for six months, since this last summer and the quidditch world cup. They had kept it a secret from everyone. They had kept it a secret, up until now. But after entering the Great Hall for the opening dance, everyone would know. Hermione looked into Cedric's soft, shining eyes and took a deep breath. She squeezed his hand.
"Yes," she replied, smiling up at him. "Yes, I am." Cedric grinned at her and leaned down to kiss her roughly. She grinned and kissed him back. He then leant out his arm.
"Shall we?" he asked grinning. Hermione took his arm and grinned back.
"We shall," she replied. The couple pushed the door open and walked into the Great Hall.

"Potter!" called Professor McGonagall running over to Harry and Cho. "I have been looking all over for you two, for Goodness sake!" she cried, grabbing both of them by the arm. "The opening dance is about to start and - Ah! There is Mr Diggory and his date Miss Granger!" exclaimed Professor McGonagall hurrying off.
"Miss Granger?" Harry said, confused. He turned and stared. There was Hermione, alright. His best friend was standing next to Cedric Diggory. Their arms were linked together and they were smiling in unison.
"Is that Hermione with Cedric?" Cho asked Harry, frowning a bit. Harry stared in shock unable to reply.
"Potter! Chang! Follow me!" called Professor McGonagall. She lined up the four champions with their date. Cedric first, then Krum, then Fleur and finally Harry. Harry desperately tried to get Hermione's attention but she just wasn't looking his way. She was talking and laughing with Cedric, Krum and his date. The music started.
"Alright off you pop, one by one," instructed Professor McGonagall. Hermione looked at Cedric and took a deep breath. He grinned at her.
"Ready?" he whispered into her ear. She grinned back at him.
"Ready," she replied and the two of them walked out into the crowd, closely followed by the 3 other Triwizard champions. There were loud cheers and applause coming from every side. Hermione forgot all about her worry and relaxed.

"Is that Hermione Granger? With Cedric Diggory?" Lavender asked Ron staring at Hermione and Cedric. Ron stared in shock and frowned.
"No, it can't be," he replied shortly. He caught sight of Harry who seemed to look just as surprised as he felt.
"Didn't you hear? Apparently, they have been dating for ages," Parvati whispered to Lavender giggling. Ron turned to stare at his date and her best friend unable to believe what he had just heard. He turned back to look at his best friend. He had never seen her look like this before. He knew she was pretty but she never really spent much time on her appearance. Ron could hear everyone whispering about Hermione and Cedric and how beautiful she was and how they looked like such a happy couple. Ron frowned. He spotted Pansy Parkinson and Draco Malfoy and grinned. They were staring at Hermione with their mouths hanging open, unable to say anything negative. Ron chuckled to himself. He looked back over at Hermione and Cedric. They would make a good couple he presumed. But they weren't together, surely. Hermione would have said something. Ron's gaze drifted over to Harry and Cho and he couldn't stop himself from grinning. Harry looked like he was struggling to keep up with the dance.

Hermione felt like she was floating during the opening dance. She looked deeply into Cedric's face. His warm eyes and shining smile. She couldn't believe she had ever felt nervous about this. It felt so right. She felt as if there was only her and Cedric in the room at that moment and it felt amazing. For once it was about her. After the opening dance, everyone joined the dance floor and started to dance. The band started to play Queen and Hermione squealed with joy.
"I love this song," she said to Cedric, who laughed and spun her around.
"I know you do," he replied grinning. Just then Hermione bumped into someone.
"Oh sorry," she apologised turning around to look at who she had bumped into. It was Fred Weasley.
"No worries, love, you're all good," he replied grinning and snaking his hand around her waist.
"Back of Weasley, she's mine," came Cedric's voice from behind her. Fred removed his hand and lifted them lazily up into the air.
"Got it Diggory, just messing," he replied. He winked at Hermione and walked off. Cedric wrapped his arms around Hermione's waist and pulled her close to him.
"You're mine," he mumbled and then crashed his lips into hers. Hermione was surprised but kissed him back. There were whoops and cheers from the crowd. Hermione broke away and blushed. Turns out their relationship was going to be very public. Cedric grinned at her and brushed a strand of hair out of her face and behind her ear. Hermione left Cedric to go find her two best friends.
"Hermione!" called a voice from behind her. She turned around and smiled as she saw Ginny Weasley hurrying towards her. "Why didn't you tell me," she exclaimed crossing her arms crossly but laughing. Hermione grinned and looked sheepish.
"I don't know," she replied. "It was so new, we didn't want to tell everyone, and then we all met up at the Quidditch World Cup and-"
"This has been going on since the World Cup?" Ginny shrieked. Hermione laughed and shrugged.
"Yeah,"
"That is more than just a little while, that's like 6 months," groaned Ginny. "I can't believe you didn't tell me!" she said. Hermione grinned. "You didn't tell Ron and Harry either did you?" Ginny asked. Hermione pursed her lips and shook her head.
"We didn't want to tell anyone at first and then I didn't know how to bring it up," she explained. "I'm looking for the right now to go talk to them," she added. Ginny pointed behind her.
"They're there," she said. Hermione turned to see Harry and Ron slumped on the benches. She couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"I'll catch you later," she said to Ginny. Ginny grinned and went back to Neville. Hermione sighed and walked over to Ron and Harry. "Hot isn't it," she said grinning at her two best friends. "Want to grab a drink with Cedric and me?" she asked. Ron glared at her.
"Cedric you boyfriend you mean?" he asked coldly. Hermione was taken aback by his tone.
"There's no need to talk to me like that," she replied crossing her arms. Ron looked at her and crossed his arms.
"No we do not want to join you and your boyfriend," he replied shortly. Hermione stared at him, astounded. She looked at Harry who looked just as shocked as she was by Ron's tone but he didn't say anything.
"You can't be serious," she said quietly. They had been best friends for years and this is how they were reacting.
"You could have told us, Hermione," said Harry quietly. Hermione looked at him and glared.
"Yes I could have but I didn't know how to," she said. "It's my choice and my relationship and you have no right to react like this Ronald," she added glaring at him. Ron glared back.
"So we just get to find out like everyone else at the Yule Ball?" he asked. "You get to waltz in with your champion boyfriend and we're just meant to accept it?"
"Accept what?" she asked."Accept the fact that I have a boyfriend?" she asked folding her arms. "It's not as if you cared very much about my love life, after all, how many times did you tell me to 'stop being stubborn and admit I didn't have a date' so that you would then take me," she replied coldly. "If you wanted to ask me to the ball you should have plucked up the courage and asked me, and not as a last resort," she said. Ron looked shocked but glared at her.
"You could have told us is all I'm saying," he grumbled. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"We are happy for you, we just would have liked to know," said Harry shrugging. He smiled at her sheepishly. "You look very pretty tonight," he said tentatively. Hermione stared at him and smiled.
"Thanks," she said. "You don't look too bad yourself," she replied. "And you too Ronald if you wiped that ugly scowl off your face," she added smiling at her best friend. Ron's scowl deepened and Harry laughed.
"Come on mate, let's go get a drink," Harry said nudging Ron. He got up and hugged Hermione. "I'm sorry," he said. Hermione smiled and hugged him back. Ron stood up and held his hand out to Hermione.
"Sorry," he mumbled. She grinned and took his hand and shook it.
"Apology accepted, now come on," she said, linking her arms with both Harry and Ron.
"Hi you two," said Cedric grinning at Harry and Ron. Harry grinned.
"Hi, Cedric," he replied.
"Hi," said Ron. Cedric handed a drink to Harry, Ron and Hermione. "If you hurt her I will hurt you," said Ron frowning at Cedric. Cedric laughed and wrapped his arm around Hermione's waist.
"I promise I won't hurt her," he replied grinning. Ron nodded and grinned.
"Well I guess we should cheers to the happy couple," he said. The four of them cheersed. Cho and Lavender joined them.
"Hi," said Cho linking her arm with Harry's. Hermione grinned.
"Hi, Cho," she replied. "Hi, Lavender," she added. Lavender smiled at her.
"Hi, Hermione," she said. "Let's go dance, Ron," she said. Ron rolled his eyes. Hermione looked at him sternly.
"Go dance Ron," she encouraged. "You'll have fun," she said. Harry snickered. "You too Harry," she added. She grabbed Cedric's hand. "Come on lets all dance," she said. The six of them went dancing. Hermione danced with Cedric mostly but she even danced with Harry and Ron for a couple of songs. She was having the best time. She spotted Ginny and waved her over.
"You took my sister to the ball and didn't even ask me?" said Ron indignantly. Hermione rolled her eyes at him.
"Grow up Ron," she said laughing.
"I guess Hermione didn't tell you about Fred hitting on her earlier on this evening," chuckled Cedric wrapping his arms around Hermione's waist. Ron looked at Hermione and Cedric astounded.
"He did not," said Ron in shock. Hermione laughed. "I'm going to kill him," added Ron shaking his head in disbelief. Everyone laughed at this.
"Hello, Hermionene," came a strong accented voice from behind her. She turned around to look at Krum.
"Hello, Krum," she replied smiling politely.
"May I borrow her for one dance, Diggory, after all, I would have liked her for the whole evening but she turned me down, now I know why," he said. Harry and Ron's mouths fell open upon hearing this. Cedric laughed and brushed his hand through his hair.
"Sure, but just one dance, I want to spend as much of the night with my girl as possible," he replied. Krum nodded.
"Will you allow me this dance?" Krum asked Hermione reaching out his hand to her.
"Sure, why not," she replied. "I've already turned you down once," she added grinning. Hermione smiled and took his hand. When the song was over Hermione made her way back to Cedric, Harry and Ron.
"Krum too?" Ron asked in disbelief. Hermione grinned. "Why didn't you tell us?" he whined. She rolled her eyes.
"Because you would never have believed me, especially if I told you I'd turned him down because I already had a date," she said laughing. Ron huffed and Harry grinned.
"Look at you go," he said grinning and nudging her. Just then a slow dance came on.
"If you two don't mind I'll be stealing Hermione for this song," said Cedric grabbing her hand. Harry grinned.
"No, we don't mind," he said. Hermione grinned and waved at both of them as she and Cedric walked off. Cedric turned her to face him and he wrapped his arms around her waist. She wrapped her arms around his neck and grinned at him.
"How are you feeling, love?" Cedric asked, kissing her cheek. Hermione grinned at him.
"I feel brilliant, and you?" she asked. He grinned back at her.
"Never better," he replied. Hermione felt as if the world vanished around her and it was just her and Cedric dancing. She felt free and overcome by happiness. "I love you, Hermione Granger," Cedric whispered leaning in close. Hermione rested her head on his chest. She could hear his heart beating.
"I love you too, Cedric Diggory," she replied grinning and looking up at him. Cedric lent down and kissed her softly. This was the best night of her life, Hermione thought to herself. A beautiful Yule ball.
