"Kurt? Hey Kurt" Blaine says softly, giving everything to hold back his exitement when Kurt slowly opens his eyes. He looks dissorientated but that's okay so Blaine gives him a moment to come to his senses and calls a doctor in that time.

"Doctor Peters. Good to see you!"Blaine greets the man entering the room "He's slowly waking up". The doctor had to see for himself, mumbling "It's a miracle".

"Kurt? Hi. I'm Doctor Peters and this is Blaine Anderson. You're in the Lifeline Medical Center. Take your time to wake up" the doctor says to his patient who just nods, still unorientated but a bit clearer now.

"We do some more tests later when he is fully awake. Would you mind rescheduling your break to stay with him?" Doctor Peters asks and Blaine nods "I just get an apple for a quick snack".

"Thank you. I tell Monica to call the family" the doctor says and leaves. Blaine turns to Kurt "You keep concentrating on waking up, I get something to keep my circulation up".

With that he runs out, takes an apple an a bottle of water and runs back to Kurts room. He has a smile on his face as he realizes that after one year Kurt Hummel finally woke up.

Back in the room he sits down next to Kurts bed "It's okay to feel strange and not being able to talk yet. How about I talk for a while and you just listen?". Kurt just nods on that.

The short moment that the male nurse was gone Kurt took the little time to take everything in.

He's in a hospital, even tho he doesn't know why. He feels everything and can move everything even if it costs him a lot of strength that he doesn't have yet. Nothing hurts but he still feels a bit light headed. He's attached to many wires and tubes. The one at his throat does most of the breathing for him which feels weird.

"Do you remember why you're here?" Blaine asks and Kurt shakes his head so Blaine says "You were in a plane crash and got injured". Honestly Blaine doesn't really know what to say.

He could shock the boy or tell things that maybe his family could tell him better. But he's there and he has to do it now.

"So don't freak out now. I know it can be quite a shock but you were in coma. For a year" Blaine says and Kurts eyes open wide.

That's when Blaine hears the first words out of Kurts mouth "A Year!?". His voice is hoarse and more of a whisper but he said something. "Yes. A year and a month more or less" Blaine answers with a soft, caring smile.

"Your family is probably already on their way and can tell you what happened over the last year because I only work here for a bit more than a month. But I'm here to take care of you so the other patients have to deal with other nurses" the curly haired boy continues.

The other boy looks confused "Who are you again?". "Blaine Anderson. I'm 23 years old and focus on long term patients. So if you need something, I'll be there" Blaine answers smiling. It's okay to be confused at first but at least he's talking.

"How are my friends and family? Oh and Adam? How is he?" Kurt asks worried, not noticing how Blaine clenches his jaw at the mention of Adam.

Then he takes a deep breath and answers "They all are just fine. Rachel and Justin actually are in Lima at the moment". "Great" Kurt says with a smile which Blaine returns just a little forced.

"So. One Year hm? That means I'm 21 now right? How am I?" Kurt asks more serious again. "Yes 21. The injuries from the plane crash healed completely again but after one year of just laying around your body is a bit untrained.

We kept your muscles in shape but you have to regain your strenghts again. Things like walking, grabbing things or similar may be hard for you at first. I will do some training with you, put a training plan together.

I will help you with everything else like eating, showering and all that stuff until you're able to do it all by yourself again or only need a bit support which I'll give you too of course" Blaine explains.

He pauses shortly so Kurt can let it sink in and then continues "It's also normal to have memory lapses and you maybe don't remember the plane crash or details of other events. I can try to help you with that but your friends and family are the bigger help there".

"But I think I remember everything but the crash" the younger man says, thinking hard. "That's great but if there's something you don't remember just know that it's completely normal and the memories should come back eventually".

"Okay. Something else I should know about Mr. Anderson?" Kurt asks and the questioned man laughs "Please call me Blaine. I already call you Kurt and we will spend a lot of time together". Kurt nods and corrects "Well is there something else I should know, Blaine?".

Your boyfriend and best friend have a fling.

"After such a long coma your circulation needs a bit more time to work properly again, same for your immune system so take it slow for a start. Having troubles sleeping and nightmares can also be a part of waking up and regenerating from a coma in the first time" Blaine explains further.

"Sounds bearable. Is there more?" the younger man asks.

Your boyfriend cheats on you.

"No. That's all for now I guess" Blaine says and shakes his head. Justin and Adam just don't leave Blaines head but Kurt just woke up. He can't tell him.
