Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, but I wish I could own his Firebolt.

Summary: Harry Potter has the opportunity to bring back Cedric, Sirius, and his parents, but to do so, he must turn to the side that he was prophesized to get rid of.

A/N: Okay, before any of you get mad because I'm starting yet another story without finishing my others, let me just say that I had to get the start of this story on paper. I thought of the idea today and if I didn't get it out, I thought I might explode. Besides, due to Hurricane Isabel, I should have tomorrow to work on adding some chapters to some other stories. Anywho, please R/R.

When there is No Line

Harry Potter sat on his bed and gazed out his bedroom window into the night sky. As part of the chirping of the crickets and buzzing of the cicadas was the sound of his uncle, Vernon Dursley, calling out wrong answers to Jeopardy questions. This was Harry's life in the non-magical world. A life void of love and kindness. It seemed to reverberate the emptiness that echoed with every beat of his heart.

His heart had always felt to an extent, empty, but not at the magnitude it was now. The announcement that his parents had been killed by the most feared wizard in both the magical and non-magical world is probably what started it. Watching the death of his friend Cedric in his fourth year of Hogwarts only worsened it. And then, the death of the man who had been like the father Harry had never known was the item that had fully drained his happiness. His godfather, Sirius Black, was dead.

The sky, Harry noticed as he stared at it, was tantalizingly beautiful. The stars shone holes through shadowy blackness while the moon remained a thin crescent of its normal glimmering self. Harry hung his head. None of it seemed fair. He didn't want to be there that night. Staring at the beautiful sky when he knew Sirius, Cedric, and his parents couldn't. He didn't want to be the boy-who-lived. He didn't want to be the one to save the world or die. He didn't want this life at all. If only there was a way that they could come back so that none of them would have died for him.
