If only wishes would come true

DIANE: Where's Alex?

RIC: At home probably. He resigned

Diane was shocked.

DIANE: W.What? When? Why didn't he tell me?

RIC: I found his letter of resignation on my desk this morning. He's a big boy Diane, he doesn't have to tell you everything

DIANE: No I know.but.

Ric carried on walking, leaving Diane standing in the middle of the corridor thinking about Alex. Everyone was carrying on as normal, but she couldn't. She was now in a world of her own, thinking about Alex.

Why? Why did he have to leave? She didn't want him to leave. And without saying goodbye. He didn't even say goodbye. He was a good doctor. It was so unfair. So unfair that she didn't even know if she would ever see him again. She wanted so much to see him again, for him to hug her and make everything ok. She never told him how she truly felt about him. About how much he meant to her. About how she loved him. She knew that he would never feel the same about her, but before, there was just a glimpse of hope that one day it might finally happen. That he would say what she so desperately wanted to hear. For him to say 'I love you' to her. Those three simple words that would mean so much if he were to ever say them to her. But now it was too late. The glimmer of hope had gone, because he had gone, and he had taken her heart with him. Her heart was broken and she didn't know how to carry on. She couldn't carry on. She had nothing left now. Her world seemed so empty. Nothing seemed to matter anymore. She used to wake up each day and smile at the thought that she might see him, hear his voice, but now she didn't have that anymore. She had nothing to smile about. Nothing to look forward to. Nothing. Her world had come crashing down around her. It was empty. All she had was the pain that she felt in her heart.

She had never felt this way about anyone before. Of course, she had thought that she had loved people in the past, but nothing compared to how she felt about him. He made her so happy. Every time she saw him she had butterflies in her stomach, her heart skipped a beat, and she had feelings of excitement and happiness. Just seeing his face, seeing him smile that gorgeous smile made her smile and giggle nervously. She adored him and would do anything for him. She dreamt about being with him. She could barely think of anything else. About him kissing her, waking up next to her every morning. Her life would seem so perfect if only she could share it with him. If only he knew. If only he knew how she felt about him, and how much he meant to her. If only he knew how he brightened up each day for her. How he made her feel like she was walking on air just by catching a glimpse of him. If only he felt the same way about her. She longed and wished so much that he would just feel the same way about her, and loved her, the way she loved him. If only. If only wishes would come true.
