Prologue

Sometimes life makes you do something and be someone you never imagined you'd be in your wildest thoughts. The only way to heal is to let go of the past and stop thinking about the what-ifs. But the sad truth is that letting go is never an easy thing to do especially if you asked to it go of something so integral to your life that it makes you, you … a belief that had been a part of you for so long … the hope that had motivated you to overcome so many obstacles.

Rita Repulsa wasn't always an evil empress. She was once a hero who fought alongside the Order of Meledon to save innocents from the wrath of the Dark Specter. After the Grid Wars, she was offered two choices, either to accept the inevitable or to change it. Unable to resist the temptation, she made a deal with the demon for the chance to be whole again, even if it labeled her as a criminal in the eyes of the law… even if she had to sacrifice innocent lives and go against the morals and ideals by which she had lived her entire life.

As the Pink Meledon Ranger, she had battled the fiercest of villains, the deadliest of monsters and the dirtiest of mercenaries and now she was ready to do whatever was asked of her… even become the very thing she'd spent years fighting against… evil.

She'd battled her former team, laid waste to entire civilizations and destroyed multiple star systems to achieve her goals. Yet one thing stood in her way, even after all these years… the defenders of Earth led by Zordon of Eltar.

But she wasn't really evil, was she?

She felt the pain of every single person she'd maimed, tortured or killed. But she knew the difference between right and wrong. She'd no other alternative. Besides, if she succeeded, they'd all be reunited with their loves ones and their greatest enemy defeated… Death!

No matter how many obstacles Zordon and his pesky power brats put in her way, she'd create the perfect world. She was the real hero here… If only Zordon understood that, things would be much easier.

Sentai 6 was the most advanced planet of it's time, having made leaps and bounds in technology, medicine and magic, surpassing even Eltar and Edenoi. Inspite of looking like humans, the inhabitants of Sentai 6 were saurians, descended from dinosaurs and exhibited subtle reptilian traits.

They lived in harmony with their fierce ancestors, having found the means to domesticate even the most bloodthirsty tyrannosaurus.

They were governed by an elected committee of leaders, who were guided by the mysterious being only known as the Keeper. The Keeper was revered as a God by the saurians.

Sentai 6 was a peaceful place but it all changed when a dark sorceress set her sights upon the planet. Unfortunately, she was hindered in her attempts to conquer the planet by Zordon and Hemera, the former Red and Yellow Meledon Rangers. They discovered that the sorceress was none other than their old friend – Rita Regae, the first Pink Meledon Ranger, who'd gone missing a few years ago. Repulsed by what she'd become, the saurian gave her a new name – Rita Repulsa.

Her attacks gradually increased in ferocity till she personally led an army of monsters to battle, utterly obliterating the planet's defenses. That was the last news the Galactic Council ever heard from the planet via a distress call. When help arrived in the form of Eltarian battleships, the entire Sentai system was gone. No life signatures could be determined and a turbulent space storm obstructed their passage.

Much later, a group of scientists concluded that the entire Sentai galaxy had been enveloped by perpetual dark matter. Voyagers who dared to venture into that galaxy never found their way back. Over time, the entire sector of space became restricted and came to be known as the Lost Galaxy.

August 28, 2023...

This day was unlike any other. People of Earth were going about their daily lives, blissfully unaffected by the war that raged outside their galaxy.

But all of that was about to change today.

Today was the day, humanity became aware that the universe did not revolve around them and that their universe was vaster than they'd ever expected it to be. All because of opening a dumpster…

Recently N.A.S.A.D.A detected unusual cosmic radiation from a specific part of the moon. On sending a space shuttle with 2 astronomers and a scientist to investigate the anomaly, they discovered something inconceivable ... a castle on the moon, like something out of a comic or a TV show. Moreover, if their scanner was to be believed, there was an air pocket covering the castle and a few yards around it.

"I don't believe it!" The aged scientist in the space suit gasped, as he continued to stare at the scanner in his hands.

"I have to check if this is true." He murmured, placing his hands over his helmet.

"Professor Phenomenus, don't-" One of the pilots, Higgins cried out. "It has to be a mistake-"

he watched the professor detach his helmet in horror, fully expecting to die within 15 seconds, but to his astonishment, nothing happened. the professor inhaled the air deeply to prove his point.

"Sir, I think you should put the helmet back on. We don't exactly know what is going on here. It's not safe to take risks like -"

"Risks. Humph." He snorted. "Don't you know, my dear lad, taking risks is crucial to the advancements of science? Rejoice my dears for we have just discovered something that disproves everything we know about the universe. From now on, a new era of science begins-"

"Professor!" Ignoring their calls, the professor ran through the open gates of the palace. He yelped as he fell down. The 2 astronomers shared alarmed looks, rushing to his aid. They gasped seeing what caused him to fall down... a dumpster with a red gem embedded in it's lid.

"Sir, I really think we should send word back to the base and wait for reinforcements-"

"Aliens! A palace with an air pocket in the moon. All these years. they called me a crazy buffoon and I was right all along." The professor shouted excitedly, reaching for the lid.

"Professor, we don't even know what's inside. It could be a bomb for all we know!"

"Parrott, don't you get it?" Phenomenus cried. "It's our time to make history. We will be famous. We'll be legends and our names will be recorded next to Neil Armstrong and Isaac Newton."

Parrott relented. "Higgins ?"

"I say we help the professor."

Together, the three pushed the lid away from the dumpster. The ruby flashed crimson as the lid fell on the floor.

Neither of them realized that they'd just released a greater evil than humanity has ever faced before.

Professor Phenomenus peeked inside the dumpster, only for a hand to rise up from the darkness inside the space urn and touch the temple of his forehead. The scientist screamed in pain as purple electricity coursed through his body.

"Help!" He shouted trying to move away, only to find he couldn't.

His two companions tried to make a beeline for the space shuttle but an invisible force slammed against them, knocking them unconscious. Their bodies lied crumpled next to each other on the lunar terrain.

The hand let go of the professor and he fell backwards, barely breathing.

The dumpster exploded, releasing a purple energy wave that swept across the moon and headed towards Earth.

Five shadowy figures stood, towering over the unconscious humans. And their leader, a woman with silver hair smirked.

"After ten thousand years, I'm finally free!"
