Anakin stood before the council, perplexed.
Obi Wan looked worried.
Plo Koon looked sorry.
Mace looked... less like he wanted Anakin dead.
And Yoda seemed... sorrowful.
almost none of them had a very jedi-like aurora or force signature.
Their aurora were surrounded by unease, and sadness... somthing was just- wrong.
tentatively, Anakin reached out for Obi Wan and his bond.
and drew away almost immediately.
Obi Wans signature was practically screaming in guilt and sorrow...
but why?
all this took a few seconds.
"You called me here, masters?" Anakin said, dreading whatever task they might ask, whatever news they might bring.
"It seems," Said Mace, "that we are in need for a translator... in huttenese."
Ok... that didn't seem to bad.
oh boy did Anakin jinx that.
"For what?" Anakin questioned.
"Gardulla." Mace said.
Anakins world spun, and he almost threw up.
Anakin staggered, clenching his eyes shut, trying to hold down the memories- the endless memories that caused endless nights of nightmares...
After a Moment or two, Anakin unbleached his eyes, to find himself look up into the very concerned eyes of Obi Wan.
"I told you it was too much! but you never listen!!" Obi Wan snapped at Mace as he got to him feet.
"Master, I'm fine. It just... took me but suprise. that's all."
Obi Wan sat back down. "Very well." he said stiffly. "continue, Mace."
"Yes, um, you are needed to negotiate a treaty between Gardulla," Anakin tried his best not to, but flinched anyway. "And the republic... saying as the outer rim has not senetor, and youre the only jedi who speakd fulent huttenese... you can see why we need you."
Anakin nodded, face void of any emtion.
"Anakin, you look pale, you sure you're ok?"
"Anakin?"
"Anakin, can you hear me?"
"Anakin!!!"
Anakin jumped, fliching away from Obi Wan.
"Can you hear me?"
Anakin mutely nodded.
"You can say no, I'm sure the council will understand." Anakin remained silent.
he hadn't spoken a worn since he accepted the mission three days ago.
At least- no, wait, oh no, no, no.
Obi Wan was going with him.
if Gardulla (Anakin flinched) mentioned-
Obi Wan would-
Obi Wan might-
he'd tell them Anakin used to-
And then they'd-
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Anakin couldn't even finish his thoughts before the next fear slammed into him.
of course, all this happened while Anakin didn't so much as twitch.
his slave instincts had been kicking in for a while.
