Chapter 1: Dog-gone-it

"NO!", Kagome screamed, "I refuse, I will not marry whatever dork you picked out for me!" Knowing that yelling would get her nowhere fast, she calmed down. In her most innocent voice she said, "Mommy, I appreciate you doing this for me but I can find my own husband."

"Now, now. You'll just have to trust me, when you meet him you'll thank me." Lady Higurashi said with a, don't even try to change my mind, smile.

"Well, Mother dearest, when will I meet him?"

"In about, an hour" smiling even wider" her mother said with even a wider smile.

"WHAT!! You're telling me that my husband to be, is coming in an hour, and I just found out about it! Gee, thanks Mom." Kagome said slightly twitching in the eye."

"See, I told you would thank me. Come on." With a wink in her eye, Lady Higurashi pulled Kagome into her room for preparations.

59 min. later, Kagome comes out looking even more beautiful than before. Thinking her mom didn't do to bad of a job , she made a promise to try to give the guy a chance.

Lady Higurashi holds her daughter by the shoulders and examines her. With a sigh she says, "I wish you didn't have to leave, I'll miss you."

"But mom, I don't have to if you quit on the arranged marriage- thing", hinted Kagome with a hopeful smile.

"No, no that would be no good, what's done is done. Besides, you always liked dogs."

" Did, did you just say dog? I'm marring a dog? What kind of Mother are you!?" Kagome looked like she was about to faint.

"No, I wouldn't do that to my only girl, maybe your brother, but not you. And anyway that's gross. You're marring a dog demon, well actually half demon." As Kagome started to sway back and forth about to faint she added, " He comes from a very powerful family."

" Oh, okay. Let me see if I have this straight, a 'rich' half-breed is arranged to marry me because, "at this she took a deep breath apparently to calm herself and said," because THEY CAN'T FIND ANYONE ELSE TO! HE'S A HALF-BREED, AND NO ONE LIKES HALF-BREEDS!" at this Kagome was about to cry.

Trying to comfort her daughter she says, "I don't think it's that bad, oh look out the window there he is."

As Kagome turned around she caught sight of the cutest thing she had ever seen. A boy that looked about her age, but that wasn't it, it was the cute doggie ears on top of his head.
