Welp... My first attempt at writing something enjoyable for myself and others. It's mostly a copy of the original plot but I'm new to this so it's basically practice for me. I hope you guys don't hate on me too much. I've seen some of the mean crap some y'all can write in other people reviews. But, we've all gotta start somewhere so I'm pushing through!

A slight shudder was continually felt from underneath his feet as he looked outside one of the airship's windows.

Garou looked down besides him, checking and making sure no one touched his duffle bag, before looking outside the window once again.

The airship to Beacon was noisier than he would have liked but there wasn't much could do. And he couldn't very well start shouting at people to shut up just because he felt like it, he'd look like a crazy person.

His parents raised him better than that, no matter how much he would have like to.

So, he bit down his exasperation, took it like a man and just ignored everyone around him. The ears on his head flapping downwards to better muffle sound.

Suddenly, a holographic screen pops up in font of him recounting the recent dust robberies, as well as White Fang activity.

"Tch... Don't they have anything better to do?" Garou muttered disinterested. He shifts his gaze away now that the scenery was ruined with local politics.

He was interested in one thing, and one thing only. Fighting. But, he wasn't interested in other peoples fights. It was none his business.

He was only here because it would allow him to make a carrier out fighting others. By becoming a huntsman he can make a living out of hunting battle crazed people who've gone rogue. The perfect job for him!

He just needs to graduate as fast as possible and his family can finally lay off his back about his ambition.

"Hello, and welcome to Beacon!"

'Who's this bitch?'

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch."

'Oh.'

"You are among a privileged few..."

'Yadayadayada... This is probably just a recording for the naive and gullible.'

Having figured that out, he realized it probably only played when the airship was close to almost arriving. So, he picked up his bag, slung it over his shoulder, and waited patiently to dock.

Having gotten out of the airship last, so that he could walk and admire the school in peace, a bang which he was sure sounded like an explosion, was heard nearby.

'What the hell are those idiots doing? I haven't even been here ten minutes yet, and they're already causing property damage.' While mentally questioning the intelligence of his 'fellow students' he calmly walked by the commotion two girls where causing.

That mess was none of his business.

Eventually, he made to the area where all the new students gathered for some speech, or something.

After waiting awhile that bitc-Goodwitch appeared on stage along with whom, Garou guessed was the headmaster, Ozpin.

Tapping on the microphone, which caused everyone to quickly quiet down, he began his speech.

"I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."

'What a lackluster speech. He spoke so much and yet said nothing at all.'

Already Garou first impression of the headmaster wasn't great. His whole attitude on stage felt like he was putting in the minimum amount of effort necessary.

Whatever then, he didn't care that much. This school was just a stepping stone for him anyway. He'll blaze though it just like all the other challenges in his life, and then he'll be free to do his own thing.

Ending the thought there he heard Goodwitch's statement to gather in the ballroom tonight to sleep in, and that initiation was going to start tomorrow.

Laying down inside his sleeping bag, with a clean shirt and sweat pants, he people gazed around him in boredom.

These people where the faces he was going to be seeing for the coming years, huh. What bunch of weaklings, he sensed that barely any of them were capable of making him drop a sweat. He saw maybe a few, that based on their stance and breathing, could possibly make him try, of which the strongest where some blonde and a redhead. And that was only if he held back enough to enjoy the fight.

As he debated the thought of holding back in his fights for his own amusement, the blonde saw him looking at her and they both stared at each other for a moment before Garou made a lackluster wave in greeting.

Which had more of an effect than he expected because she went ahead and brought her friend alongside her to his sleeping bag. Oh, boy.

"Yang, are you sure this a good idea he doesn't look friendly, actually, he doesn't look friendly at all." The girl hurriedly stated to her friend.

"Oh, come on little sis, don't judge someone without meeting them first." She was her sister then? They don't look alike at all. "But, if you're so nervous I'll go first and then you can go after me. Ok?"

And then after dragging her rather unwilling younger sister by the arm. She introduced herself boldly. "Hey, I'm Yang and this is my little sister Ruby. We're just wondering if you like to be our friend. Between you and me my sister would really appreciate it." She said that last part with one hand doing a horrible job of muffling her voice to not be heard by her sister. "Yaanng!" Who immediately responded with calling out her sister name in an embarrassed whining voice.

Garou responded with a mildly amused tone. "That has got to be the boldest friend request I've ever gotten. You're that desperate for friendship?" He was bored so he might as well play along for now.

"Ha! See Ruby? He's not so bad, now to just seal the deal!" She said to her sister beside her rather transparently.

"Yep! I'd really appreciate it if you became her first friend at Beacon." The girl, who he now knew was named Yang, jokingly pleaded.

Instead of responding, Garou looked at the smaller girl and weighed the offer in his head. It honestly wouldn't cost him anything to become this girl's friend. Well, except time but he had a ton of that to burn besides his usual training time. Plus, his family did say he was too much a lone wolf, figuratively and literally. And that he'd probably end up alone with that kind of mindset.

So deciding based on those two things he spoke to the girl, Ruby, with a confident tone. "The name's Garou. I'll be your friend, but on one condition, you let me fight the both of you to my heart's content. I've been itching for an interesting fight, and maybe you'll amuse me enough to starve off my boredom for a little while."

He flashed a battle hungry grin at both of them which made them shiver a little at the menacing aura he projected for an instant before he retracted it and set his face straight.

"Uhhh... Yeah... Sure." Both of them were stunned by his sudden reveal, and could only nod and utter words of mild agreement before the lights turned off and they offered hurried goodbyes while retreating back to their sleeping bags.

With that taken care of. Garou makes himself comfortable while closing his eyes. 'Things are getting interesting.'

The next day everyone was gathered on Beacon Cliff waiting for the Headmaster to explain what was going to happen.

Garou looked at the Beacon logos on the tiles studying them to find anything but found nothing and looked back at Ozpin and Glynda.

"For years, you have trained to become skilled warriors, and so today, your skills will be put to test in the Emerald Forest. You will either sink or swim..." Ozpin said calmly whilst sipping his coffee at the end.

Glydna seeing this spoke afterwards. "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today."

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well with.

That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." Ozpin said after Glydna.

Garou heard who he suspected was Ruby making gasps after each speech, especially the last part where she literally yelled in shock.

Almost every student started looking at each other trying to guess who they might end up with. Garou didn't really care as long as they didn't annoy him, or he would probably beat the crap outta them. Partner or no partner, you don't press his buttons and get away with it.

Ignoring the students reactions Ozpin continued. "After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die.

You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately.

Are there any questions? No?

Okay. Now, take your positions."

Garou hearing this spreads his legs and takes a slightly low stance. He'd already guessed that the tiles they've all been standing served some purpose but couldn't guess what exactly-

"Woo-hoooooooo!" Yang goes flying the tile launching her into the forest below.

Mystery solved, now to improvise a landing strategy.

Waiting for his turn didn't take long as he was then flung hundreds of meters into the air above the Emerald Forest where he searched for a tree before gravity decided to painfully reintroduce him into the ground.

'There.' He saw a fairly tall tree that fit his requirements. Strong and thick branches capable of dampening the force of his fall.

Breathing in deeply he spun directing his body to the tree where upon reaching it he grabbed onto a thick branch and spun around it until he felt his momentum fade enough to safely land on the ground. His feet still caused cracks to form on the ground from the kinetic energy transferring and being absorbed but otherwise he succeeded in bleeding off most of the damage his legs would have otherwise taken.

Looking up he saw what direction the sun was at, deduced which way was north and started walking. He wasn't really in any hurry it was barely noon so the day wasn't ending anytime soon. And about his grade he's supremely confident in his fighting ability so that didn't bother him one bit either.

Calmly walking between trees, he slowly but surely made his way toward northern end of the forest. He encountered a couple Beowolves but he took care of those dogs in seconds flat they never even saw the hand-chop that decapitated them.

Focusing on his hearing his ears twitched left and right on his head hearing gunshots in the surroundings. He must be getting close to someone. Walking in that direction soon brought him into a fight between two Beowolves that were just about finished when he got there. Sensing his arrival the black haired girl finished them off quickly and focused her attention on him.

Looking at each other for long moment they sized each other out. The first thing he noticed about the girl was she obviously a Faunus. Not only was the bow not fooling him, the way it twitched when she noticed him cast his gaze at it made all the more obvious.

"I won't ask why you're hiding your heritage from everyone. I just ask that you don't annoy me. Beacon Academy is only a stepping stone for me but I'd rather someone not ruin the experience for me. Also, the name's Garou." He added his name of the end as almost an afterthought.

The now exposed Faunus girl after hearing this shows a shocked expression on her face before she recomposes herself quickly and responds back.

"Don't you dare tell anyone about this," She said with serious deep tone, trying and failing to intimidate him into silence.

Putting his hands in his pockets he rolled his eyes at her threat. "I already said that. You have my word. I won't tell anyone, not like it'll benefit me since you're my new partner now." After that he stared at her face. "Besides isn't it rude not to introduce yourself? I told you my name didn't I?" He said calmly.

Struggling with controlling her emotions she stills and takes a sudden deep breath. "It's... Blake." She says returning somewhat to her stoic expression.

"Well, Blake. Lets get going I wouldn't want to miss all the action." He says letting out a fierce grin while turning and departing north. Blake not know what to feel at the moment follows behind him almost automatically.

Looking behind at Blake who seems lost in thought Garou calls out to her.

"Hey, you better not bring me down. So stop it with that depressed look and stay focused. I don't want to have to save you for being distracted." Garou says looking inconvenienced by the thought.

"I'm not weak!" Blake says looking insulted that he'd need to save her.

"Good." Garou simply says already knowing she's not at his level but content knowing he won't have to babysit her. He does have some morals and will help others if they need it, but damn does it inconvenience him.

The walk after that was silent between them except for the occasional gunshots in the distance. After decapitating a couple more weak dogs and easily pummeling one Ursai's head in with his bare hands, which earned slightly amazed look from Blake. They finally reached the temple, and seeing that the others still haven't arrived yet he tells Blake to pick the 'relic' for them since it really doesn't matter to which one.

While Blake makes that 'important' choice, Garou looks around trying to sense if anyone else might be close, and as a matter of fact, he spots something in the air, it looks to be a Nevermore, flying bastards, with two students hanging onto it. Wait, he thinks he recognizes one now.

Oh, she failing, she's lucky he agreed to be her friend otherwise he wouldn't have reacted nearly as fast.

Garou body moved incredibly fast being almost a blur as he stopped underneath Ruby's position and jumped catching her easily.

"Ahhh! Huh? Garou?" She asks looking dazed.

"You're lucky I'm your friend." His face showing how unimpressed he was at her for falling from a Nevermore. He lands while slightly bending his knees.

"Oh, ah thanks! Oh no! I told Weiss to jump but she didn't listen to me. You have to help her!" Ruby says pleadingly to Garou.

Garou, while putting Ruby down on her feet, looks at her face and then at the girl, Weiss, hanging off the Nevermores talon.

"...Fine, but only because you asked."

Weiss chose the very moment to voice her disapproval. "How could you leave me behind?!"

"Weiss! Let go I asked Garou to catch you!" Ruby shouts back. Garou hearing this ready's himself underneath her position.

Weiss already losing her grip choses to trust him, reluctantly.

Garou repeats what he did with Ruby and then let's her down on feet.

"Saved by a Faunus..." Weiss mutters disappointed in herself.

"Don't count on it happening again." Garou says stoically not caring about the racist remark. He could just tell they weren't going to get along.

Walking back to Ruby, and now Blake who both stood next to each other awkwardly. Before any of them could say a word they were immediately interrupted by more students with a Grimm hot on their tails.

Four of them, one of them he knew being Yang, the other being the redhead that could possibly give him a decent fight, and the others being complete unknowns.

"Alright, it's time to take care of these pests. You all don't get in my way!" Garou shouted while rotating his shoulder blades walks towards the Death Stalker on the ground attacking the four hunters-in-training.

"Are you insane! That's a Death Stalker, you can't possibly think about fighting it by yourself!" Weiss yelled from behind him. But Garou wasn't listening he repeated himself one last time before beginning his offensive.

Rushing the Death Stalker he already knows where to attack having fought and killed many of them for fun before. He first focused on immobilizing it by targeting its legs the weakest parts of its body.

Dodging the Death Stalkers right pincer swipe he uses it's own pincer against it by using it to stay hidden from its eye sight.

He ruthlessly takes advantage of that spilt second to start ripping into it's right sides legs with multiple expertly placed strikes making it colapse on its right side under its own weight.

After losing a significant amount of its mobility the Death Stalker lost all ability to fight back against Garou who after ripping it's stinger off next used a double drop kick to drive it into it's own head. Mercilessly ending it's existence in under minute.

Everyone looked on in amazement, especially the group previously fighting the Death Stalker. They should know how tough the creature was considering it was taking their hits with minimum injuries beforehand. But Garou made killing it look almost trivial.

Jumping off the decaying Grimm corpse he looks up at the Nevermore still circling around in the sky getting ready to attack. "I'll let you guys help me kill the Nevermore since they're always a pain to kill from the ground." Raising his voice he addresses the group still looking at him with differing looks of amazed and impressed expressions.

As he finishes the sentence the Nevermore decides that now was perfect time to dive down hoping to crash into them, but they all could see such televised move in time and got out of the way.

Well, all except Garou.

"Never mind, this makes things much easier!"

With an amazing feat of agility and strength he jumped and grabbed onto it's back when it passed by him. He immediately began attacking the joints in it's left wing with dozens of well placed fist strikes. When it could no long feel strength in it's wing it let out pained cry as it drop very roughly onto the ground digging a small trench.

Even through all this Garou kept his cool letting go just as it crashed straight into the dirt. He quickly got onto his feet and jumped on it's back while it was busy reeling from pain and began striking at the monster's neck finishing it off in under two dozen punches.

"Ahhh... It's always satisfying to kill these flying bastards." Garou sighs content with killing the Nevermore. Casually jumps off yet another decaying Grimm corpse and makes his way back to the others.

On stage was Ozpin announcing yet other new first year team.

"Yang Xiao Long. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team YNPR." The clapped for them. "Led by... Pyrrha Nikos!"

Said girl made a slightly surprised face before going back to normal, she was then congratulated by the Headmaster and her teammates for the position.

"And finally: Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Garou Greyson. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!"

Weiss does not look happy. While Blake and Garou congratulated their new team leader in a dry tone.

Ruby in obvious shock stopped moving while her order sister, Yang came to give her crushing sibling hug.

"Can we go eat now?" Garou said from the sidelines.

Ozpin looks on in a better mood than before as this year was looking to be incredibly interesting...

I'm finally done... This was way harder than I thought! Writing dialogue and crap for characters is super tedious to me! All I wanted to do was write cool fights but obviously you have write what comes before and after the fight. That's the part that sucks up all my motivation.

Well, I did kinda get used to it, but damn was it hard! I will never insult other writer ever again, no matter how shitty their grammar is. My mental juices are sucked dry. The amount of effort required to write something even as simple as this freaking hurts my brain. I had to take multiple breaks just because of the eye strain and headaches hitting me every hour or so.

Anyway, thats enough complaining. Again, I'm an a complete amateur at writing stories so if you saw something that needs improvement. Give me feedback and all that jazz.

[Chapter 2 coming soon... maybe]
