Disclaimer: I don't own anything that looks familiar to you... It belongs
to J.K. Rowling... not fair...
A/N: Okay... this is my first fanfic, so I don't have much of an idea of what to do yet, but I'll give it a try. Wish me luck!!! Even if you don't like it, just try to give me some advice!

Alone with You
~*Chapter 1*~
Lily Evans woke up early in the morning due to a lack of silence just outside her bedroom window. A large tawny owl was hovering outside, tapping her window rapidly.
"All right, all right, I'm up..." she mumbled as she groggily got out of her warm bed and opened the window. The owl soared in and dropped a rather large package onto her bed. She fumbled around her room until she found a few coins and dropped five bronze ones into a pocket tied to the owl's leg. The owl hooted softly and flew back out the window.
Lily sighed. Now that she was awake, there was no way she was going to fall back to sleep, so she picked up the package delivered by the owl and opened it carefully. Inside was a thick, dark green cloak from her mother (winter was coming fast and she needed all the warmth she could have) and a rolled- up copy of The Daily Prophet. She unrolled the paper and the first thing she saw, in big flashing colours, was...
WIN TWO TICKETS FOR YOU AND A FRIEND TO THE QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP FINALS: England VS. Scotland and meet James Potter live for dinner after. See page 5.
Lily grinned. The headline was practically begging to be read. She had always admired James Potter for his talents on the Quidditch pitch, but she was one of the few girls who didn't fall for his looks or charms. She turned quickly to page fifteen and read the article and the little ad about the 'contest' that followed it.
She grabbed a quill and bottle of ink and carefully wrote her name a piece of spare parchment and a few other details of herself. When she finished, she sent the letter off with Amethyst, her precious brown owl. Amethyst had light purple eyes that shone at night like its name.
Lily then walked slowly to the room next to hers. Arabella Figg's room. Lily slowly crept into the room and summoned a bucket of sugar-and-water. She carefully placed it in a position so when the bed moved, the bucket would topple and fall. She giggled quietly and exited the room, leaving a peaceful Arabella murmuring in her sleep.
About half an hour later, Lily was finishing off her breakfast and a last minute report for a case in the Auror's department in the Ministry of Magic. Something about her view of the last Death Eater raid, which was about two or three weeks ago. Raids like these weren't common, but that was what they were becoming. Common. About twice a week, the Auror's department would send out last minute requests for different Auror accounts of certain Death Eater raids.
Lily rolled up the long roll of parchment and brought it upstairs to put in her drawer to bring into Alastor Moody's office tomorrow. About halfway up the stairs, she heard a loud shriek from her left and the sound of splashing water. Lily paled as she heard the door swing open and out stormed a furious and soaked Arabella Figg.

A/N: Short, I know, but hey! It's one of those top-off-the-head stories that have to go somewhere later in the story. I just don't know where yet... Please review, even if you don't like it and it would be good if you give me some help!!! I'll update as soon as I can and I'll try to make it longer.
