The day had begun to end on Besaid Island, and while things were always quiet on this small paradise, there was a part of the island that had been eternally quiet since the Eternal Calm had arrived. The beach near the dock, where people would travel the world in fear of Sin as well as travel and commerce, had all but quieted down now.

This spot was perfect for the High Summoner to spend time to herself, which she rarely ever got anymore. Many admirers had come to give gifts to Yuna since the day she had defeated Sin with her guardians.

She would take them as a courtesy and with thanks. Yet what she had wanted was peace and quiet.

She had only gotten it two years after the Calm had started, and her personal Calm had begun.

Sitting in the sand watching the clear blue water start to darken as the sun began to set, Yuna watched the sun and she couldn't help but be reminded of the Sending she had done in Kilika years prior. Her first sending, but by no means her last, she had done it to send the spirits of the dead to the Farplane. She had cried then, as she did for everyone thereafter.

Now there was no need for the Sending, nor for a High Summoner. Sin was gone, the Calm was forever here.

And she was happy. Yuna was happy, and that was because she had her own personal happiness to tend to her every day. A happy marriage of a year and she was still all smiles.

Her happiness came in the form of a young man who waded out of the water with a blitzball under his arm. "And that, my lady, is the new and improved Jecht Shot 3000."

Yuna applauded Tidus for showing his moves, "That was great."

The young blitzball ace went and sat next to Yuna, finally done with showing off and decided to take a rest by laying in the sand. "Yup, stick a fork in me, I'm done."

Giggling, Yuna put her hand to his forehead, "You will sleep well tonight I think."

Tidus opened his eyes, seeing the woman in her summoner clothes, which she had taken a liking to after being a sphere hunter for a while. He didn't mind the change. "I wonder..."

"Hm?"

"Wakka hasn't been by has he?"

Yuna shook her head, "No. I think Lulu has him on a tight leash taking care of their son."

Rolling on his side, Tidus had a thought go through his mind. "So I know you retired as a sphere hunter and just want to settle down, but I was wondering..." He took a breath, thinking heavily about what he wanted to say before letting out what he kept inside. "I think we should...you know."

Yuna had a sneaking suspicion about what he was going to ask. And she was going to answer it as soon as she knew her definitive answer. Still she would be coy with him, "I don't, to be honest."

"Well, dammit I don't know how to bring this up without being awkward."

"It's okay. Say what you want. I promise I won't judge you for it."

Sitting up in the sand Tidus finally let out what he had wanted to say, "You think we could start a family of our own, Yuna?"

'I knew it,' Yuna thought, a little red going into her cheeks. Sure she was a bit embarrassed to be asked such a thing but she took it in stride. She also had something to add. "I am happy with how my life is. It can only get better from here." She took Tidus' hand into her own, "I think it's a great idea."

Though she had answered him in a favorable manner Tidus had to bring up an important detail. "Well, you'll be a mom..." He knew he should have been more discreet but he wanted her to be happy and he could think of no other way to do it.

"And you'll be my child's father, just like you're my husband."

That put an end to the conversation.

Tidus sighed and shook his head, "You're amazing, you know that?"

Yuna smiled before she got closer to him. She put her head on his shoulder, "So, how long were you thinking of asking me this?"

Tidus felt the words hitch in his throat, "Well...since last spring I guess, know after I came back from the Farplane."

She took a breath and closed her eyes, thinking of how long ago that had been. 'Another lifetime it seems.' "That was a long time."

"Well I didn't know how to speak about it to you without feeling a bit foolish. I mean, isn't it usually the woman who asks the question about having a family?"

"Hmm, I suppose so...fair trade, you did ask me to marry you and I should have brought up the family option some time ago as a courtesy...according to Lulu anyway-"

"Wait, so Lulu spoke to you about it? When did this happen?"

"Not long after you got back. She thought I deserved a happily ever after."

Tidus chuckled, not realizing how he was played. "I can't believe this. So that's why you didn't freak out about me asking you to have kids."

Yuna didn't like having him get a laugh at her expense and she raised her head from his shoulder, "I'm going to be the one carrying the child. And I'll be doing the majority of the work."

"That fact is not lost on me, trust me."

"Then you better be waiting on me hand and foot, okay?"

"huh?"

"If I'm going to be carrying a child for nine months, you're going to help me. As a father should."

"I never said I wasn't, but..."

"No buts about it. I'll need the help."

"No complaints from me."

She smiled, "I better not or you'll be the one changing the baby."

Tidus' eyes went wide, he had heard stories from Wakka about his adventures in babysitting and he wasn't looking forward to that. "Please not that!"

Knowing she caught him dead to rights, Yuna got to her feet and looked down at him, "Then I expect the best from you."

Tidus got on his feet and put his arms around Yuna, "You'll always have the best from me. Never less."
