That night, Sabrina laid down on her bed after a long day of packing, sore and exhausted. Though despite how she was feeling physically, meeting Danny earlier put her in a permanent good mood for the rest of the day. She couldn't stop thinking about him. He had to have been the nicest guy she'd ever met, not to mention smart and mature. And he was cute, too. With his semi short, messy black hair and sky blue eyes. "Okay, I'll bite. What's his name?" Salem, her black talking cat asked, having noticed a grin on the young half-witch's face as he sat next to her on her bed. Salem didn't used to be a cat, he used to be an evil warlock but was turned into a cat as punishment for trying to take over the world. In cat form, he was pretty laid back, if mischievous and sarcastic. "What?" Sabrina asked. "C'mon, kid. I know that face. You'd have that same grin whenever you'd think about that Harvey kid." Salem said. "Okay, you got me. His name is Danny Fenton." Sabrina spilled. "Fenton? You mean like those freaky scientists across the street?" Salem asked. "They're not scientists, Salem. They're ghost hunters, or at least, Danny's parents are. But he says they're really bad at it." she said. "Right. So, about this Danny?" he asked. "He helped us move in earlier while you were napping. He's the same age as I am. He was so sweet, and funny. And smart." Sabrina said fondly, looking back at her conversation with the half-ghost boy earlier.
"So do you like him? Aside from his loser parents?" Salem asked. "Salem, that's mean. His parents aren't losers. At least, I'm sure they're not. He seemed pretty embarrassed by them being ghost hunters." she said. "Oh whatever. You didn't answer my question. Do you like him?" he asked again. "So far, yeah. I do like him. A lot. I hope we can be friends. I mean, Aunt Hilda and Zelda did tell him he can come over anytime he wants so I'm hoping he does." she said. She wasn't being dishonest, but deep down she knew that probably wasn't what he meant. "Sabrina. Do you like him, like him?" he asked, making what he meant more obvious so she couldn't find a technicality to answer his question without answering his question. "What? No! How can I. I mean, I just met him." Sabrina stammered. "If you say so." Salem said, clearly not convinced. "Plus, I want to be friends with him, I don't want to ruin that. I mean, if I did have feelings for him, hypothetically speaking, what if he didn't feel the same way? And even if he did, I'd probably have to tell him that I'm a half-witch at some point. How would he react? I'd probably scare him away!" Sabrina said sadly. Salem could tell she was serious. He felt sympathetic towards her and decided to stop clowning on her. "Hey, c'mon now, it's not like you to worry about what people might think. Besides, if this Danny is as great as you say he is, I doubt he'd judge you for it." Salem said. "I dunno, I mean, he thinks his parents being ghost hunters is weird." Sabrina said sadly. "Yeah, but those are his parents. He's a fourteen year old boy. He'd probably think his parents were weird if they were accountants. Gosh, mortals are weird, especially teenage mortals!" Salem said. "I guess that's true. Plus I I wouldn't have to worry about telling him my secret anyway, since mortala are forbidden from knowing about the supernatural." Sabrina said. "I don't think that rule holds much weight here, since apparently everyone here knows ghosts exist." Salem said. "Yeah, tell that to the witch council. Plus, again, hypothetically speaking here, if I did have feelings for Danny and he felt the same way, I wouldn't have to worry about history repeating itself. He told me he knows a girl who's just like Gem, named Paulina, who he used to have feelings for. But he made it pretty clear he didn't have feelings for her anymore and regretted the fact that he used to." Sabrina said. "That's good, he wouldn't hurt you again. I'd wager he's smarter than Harvey, too." Salem said. "Sa-lem!" Sabrina tried to scold, but she couldn't help but laugh a little. "What? That kid was dumb as rocks!" Salem said. Sabrina couldn't help but burst out laughing this time. "Dumb as rocks" was pushing it a bit, but Harvey wasn't exactly a rocket scientist. "Thanks, Salem. I needed a laugh. But I'm telling you, I don't have feelings for Danny!" She continued to deny it. "Alright. But, even if you did, I think you're worried about nothing." he said, shrugging. He knew he wasn't going to get the truth out of her, but he was glad he could at least cheer her up and let her know that he thought she could be with Danny if she really wanted to be. "Thanks, Salem." She smiled. "Hey, I'm not a pain in the ass all the time. I can be nice sometimes." he said. "Yeah, you can." she agreed. "Though I will admit it's more fun to be a pain in the ass." he said cheekily. She playfully threw a pillow at him, which he just barely dodged. "Nice throw, kid! I'm surprised you're not into football, you'd be really good at it." He said.
Meanwhile, Danny was in his room after dinner, listening to music. He did feel a little sore from helping the Spellman's move in that morning, but he didn't mind. He had yet to tell his parents about them, as they'd been preoccupied with their ghost inventions, but he purposefully intended not to for fear of them saying or doing something to embarrass him in front of them, even though they already knew that his parents were lousy ghost hunters and didn't care. Still, Danny didn't want to deal with a headache like that, as his parents tend to be pretty embarrassing without even trying, especially Jack. He had to admit though, he liked the Spellmans a lot so far. They were all really nice people, especially Sabrina. He was hoping she'd be, but he was worried since girls as pretty as she is are usually stuck up a'la Paulina. But she was even nicer than he hoped she'd be. She was very easy to talk to, he found out that he had a lot in common with her. He couldn't get her out of his head, no matter how hard he tried. She was just so beautiful, with her long silky blonde hair and bright blue eyes and her perfect skin. But he didn't know if he could ever be with her. He had just met her, after all, and wanted to get to know her, but so far the two really hit it off and he hoped he could be friends with her, and if the two became friends he wouldn't want to ruin that. Not only that, she was way out of his league, at least, he thought so. Danny was actually a naturally handsome kid, though he didn't think he was. Plus, even if they could get together, how would she react to finding out his secret? He didn't want to scare her away from him. She and her family know ghosts exist, but they didn't know he was half-ghost, so their open minded demeanor could possibly change if they found something like that out. He was hoping there'd be another opportunity to spend time with her. After all, Hilda did say he was welcome to come over anytime, but he figured he'd probably wait it out a day or two, give them time to unpack, get settled in and breathe. Still, he longed for an opportunity to spend time with Sabrina and hopefully be her friend.
