The third X; A rivals trivial tale, Seth's service
Seth paced back and forth about the room, his papyrus sandals clacking on the marble flooring. He clutched the Millenium Rod's handle and tried to summon aide from the halls.
The frightened girl ran into the room and bowed her head to the floor, "High Priest Seth, what is it you require?" the junior priestess's frightened tone amused him. Seth looked up at the statue of Anuubis, "Water," he said simply, "I want water." The junior priestess bobbed her head up and down and then ran off in search of a water flask.
Seth looked down at his hands, you can tell a lot about a person from their hands, his were callused, rough, and dingy. Not the usually expected way to describe the High Priests fingers is it? Well, he was up to no good with those hands. Seth smirked and then kneeled in front of Anuubis's statue, his forehead touching the cool marble, "Anuubis," he began informaly, "something..." he trailed off, a curious expression crossing his features, "something is wrong. can you feel it?" he asked the god quietly..
The fires in the room danced and grew and erupted around him in a ring of flaming dancers, "Yes my child, I feel it, guard yourself" answered a dark, haunting, powerful voice. Seth shivered, "What should I do?" he asked the god uncertainly, the god answered, "my child, do not worry about such affairs, concentrate on now, she will come and you can no longer do anything to prevent it."
God's flames' stopped their dizzying dance and leapt back into the torches and flickered in the room, their red-orange glow making him crazy, suddenly, the deep bellowing voice of the god whispered in his ear, "Seth.. Don't let her die."
Seth's head snapped up, "Anuubis, what did you mean by that?" he asked the god, when he got no response he sighed, "Why doesn't he ever answer straightly?" With a shake of his head he turned away from his favored statue and walked into the corridor.
Seth looked to the left and right, there was the junior priestess running his way with the water flask. Extending his hand, he accepted it and nodded his head slightly in thanks before walking off towards his chambers.
Seth got inside after disarming his charms with his Millenium Rod and resetting them. Seth looked at his untouched room and walked out onto the balcony, looking out at the setting sun he heard a horrible cry in the distance. The moon that night was a metallic-y blood red.
