"Another akuma victim saved," Ladybug said to her partner, Cat Noir as they walked along the streets of Paris. It was autumn and every yard or park they walked by had someone raking leaves or big piles just wanting to be jumped in.
"Ladybug, Cat Noir, come help us rake!" Alya came over with one of her little sisters in tow. The yard was carpeted with leaves and Ladybug nodded. "I don't have any plans, so let's do it. Besides, I thought Cat was for sure going to jump in the pile a ways back." "I was only looking, M'lady. Do you have any extra rakes?"
Alya found found some in the garden shed, then the friends divided the yard into sections. Ladybug smiled as she worked, it really was a perfect day. The sky was a deep blue and she could feel the chill the air. It was perfect weather for bonfires and hot chocolate. She heard a crunching sound and looked up. Ladybug laughed as Cat was whirling Ella around, and gently tossed her into a pile of leaves.
"Kitty, we're supposed to raking, not playing," she told her partner, but she couldn't stop the grin from hovering over her lips. "Aw, can't Cat play with me, Ladybug?" Before Ladybug could answer, Alya walked up. "We can play as soon as the leaves are done." Then she marched away. Ella kicked at a pile of leaves. "She's no fun, and so bossy! If no one will play with me, I'll play by myself!" Ella walked off, her lips trembling. Ladybug shrugged at her partner.
She and Cat worked side by side, until they heard a swishing noise. "M'lady, was that your rake?" Cat said, back to back with his partner. "No, I thought it was yours."
Movement caught her eye and she gasped. "Cat!" she pointed to what looked like a pile of leaves shaped like a small creature. "Did Hawkmoth finally figure out how to akumatize leaves?" Cat joked. "No time for jokes, Cat Noir. We have to find out what it is."
The wind picked up suddenly as blew the leaves around. "Ladybug, Cat Noir! I am Autumnus and you will give me your Miraculous!" Cat extended his staff as he and Ladybug listened. "Bugaboo! I think its Ella!" the akuma victim was covered leaves so they looked like a leaf pile and it was small enough to be a child. "Your right, Kitty! She was upset no one would play with her.
Before Ladybug or Cat were able to do anything, Autumnus had blown them into a nearby tree, then blown away. "Ladybug! Cat! You okay?" Alya asked, helping her friends down. "Yeah, but we need to follow her before she causes any more damage! Being able to create wind is just one of her powers!"
Ladybug and Cat started running down the sidewalk. "She's left behind a leaf trail!" Ladybug said, pointing to some stray leaves." She heard screams coming from downtown and took off running, Cat on her heels.
When they got closer Ladybug looked right and left. "Cat, its worse then we thought. Look!" she pointed to people who had been running away where now leaf piles. The two partners whipped around when they heard a cackle. "Soon all of Paris will be a giant leaf pile." Autumnus opened her left hand and leaves blew out. "Cat!" she whispered. "The akuma must be in a object in her left hand. And I think I have a idea to get her to open it."
Ladybug quickly leaped down from her perch, then begin walking the oppiste away from the Akuma victim. "Um, M'lady?" Ladybug turned to see Cat playing with his tail. "Aren't you going the wrong way?" Ladybug grinned. "Just follow me."
Walking into a hardware store, Ladybug eyes roamed the shelves, looking for one item in particular. "Aha!" she picked up a leaf blower. Quickly, Ladybug told the owner she would be back soon. Slipping the blower onto her back, she felt a bit like a Ghostbuster! Well, it was that time of year, after all!
They found Autumnus at nearby park where Mr. Raimer liked to feed his piegons. It was usually a bustling place, with people, piegons and the fountain blubbing away at the center.
People in various poistions where turned into leaves, and Autumnus was perched up on top of the fountain. "You don't give up, do you?" She opened her hand to blow the two heroes across Paris when Ladybug beat her to it. "Eee!" Autumnus shrieked, crashing to the ground. "Cat Noir, now!" Cat opened Autumus's hand and revealed a small squirrel necklace. "Cataylsm!"
Ladybug purifed the akuma. "Pound it!" The partners grinned at each other. Ella sat up, and Ladybug lent down to comfort the little girl. "Here's your necklace. You were akumatized, but everything is all right now." Ella looked up at her. "I was holding it so it wouldn't get lost in the leaves. I just wanted to play." "Well, the imporant thing is that your safe. Should we get back to Alya and your sister?" Ella nodded. "I'll give you a piggyback ride," Cat said, and they walked back to the park together.
Alya ran to greet them, hugging her sister tightly. "Ella, I'm so sorry! We could have taken a break." Ella shook her head. "No, I'm sorry. I got selfish and I could have waited." Alya smiled. "Well, Etta and I made a big pile while you were gone, so how about a jump?" Ella nodded, and she and Alya hugged again.
The friends jumped into the piles they made all afternoon, laughing themselves silly. This really is a great day, Ladybug thought to herself.
Cat treated them to hot chocolate at Leo's, after they were to tired to jump anymore. After, as Ladybug was about to say goodbye to Cat, she told him, "I think you missed one last leaf pile. How about it, Kitty?" Cat's green eyes sparkled at her. "Only if you'll join me, M'lady."
Holding hands and laughing the two best friends jumped into the pile. Yep, playing in the leaves were one of the heroes favorite things!
