Bright light shined in her eyes as she opened them.

When her eyes adjusted to the light, Ember realized she had been bruised all over. She also noticed that she had landed in a bush, in the middle of a forest.

Ember quickly scanned the undergrowth for movement, and only saw plants. She quickly slithered onto a nearby path.

Trees stood all around her. Flowers and vines could be found around here. The grass was tall and wet from dew. Bushes dotted her vision as she continued along the path. It was a sea of green in which she could blend into.

As she was slithering down the path, she caught sight of a weird shaped flower in the middle of the was a blue scaly flower with what seemed to be legs and eye stalks.

Even though her instincts were flaring against it, she curiously approached the plant.

As she got closer to the plant, she saw one of its "eyestalks" twitch. Reflexively Ember blew herself back with a yelp of: "Boom Dodge!"

The plant raised its head and its eye stalks stared into Ember's eyes, scanning her from top to bottom. Its fingered hands swayed majestically through the air, and it transfixed Ember. Ember also noticed teeth lining the plant's mouth.

She felt the flame in her body start to boil as she got ready to fight the carnivorous plant.

It seemed like the plant noticed the fear radiating of Ember, because it lowered its leaves and smiled at Ember.

"Hello, young one." Said the plant, surprising Ember and causing her to blow herself back down the road again. "Do not worry, I will not eat you, little snake-lizard. I only like bugs."

Ember relaxed a little. "Who are you?" She asked.

"My name is Lorry," answered the plant. "i am a Bio Baba, the evolvolved form of a Deku Baba. And you?"

Ember smiled and said: "My name is Ember, I come all the way from the mountains over there. I am a Baby Dodongo."

Lorry looked puzzled. "I'm told that the road is incredibly dangerous and a low leveled creature like you would probably get eaten. How in the world did you get all the way over here, young one?"

Ember thought for a moment. "Well," she answered. "I was caught by a lizard loving Kargarok. She flew me up to a floating island in a cloud and was about to kill me when she was pushed off my body."

"And why did the Kargarok get off you?" asked Lorry.

"I think it was because he was attacked," Ember answered. "by some flying creature called Volvagia. And then I slipped off the boulder and fell down here. Luckily, I landed on a very furry bush of some sort."

"Oh my." gasped Lorry. " Volvagia is the king of the mountains! He must have been protecting his fellow mountain monsters."

Ember thought about this. "Maybe Volvagia was just protecting his territory."

A question came to Ember's mind. "Uh, Lorry?" asked Ember.

"What is it, young Ember?" answered Lorry.

"Where in the whole of Hyrule am I?" she asked.

Lorry smiled. "We are right now in the Lost Woods. If you want to navigate it, you're out of luck. Most humans who come into here get lost and need a monster to guide them back. Also, if you are looking for food, try roasting the Oran berries and eating them. Not only will they heal you up, they will taste amazing, or so I heard. Look. Those are Oran berries. One more tip: your kind is very rare around here, I mean like you're probably the only monster in the Dodongo line in the forest, so don't approach any humans. Or any bipedal creatures, human or not. Now be on your way, I need to sleep."

"Thanks, Lorry!" Ember called as she slithered into the undergrowth.

She found an Oran berry bush quite quickly.

She took a berry in her teeth and bit down and chewed it. The juice filled her mouth and she was surprised as she tasted a delightful flavor. As she savored the taste, she felt her bruises and cuts start to heal. A new scale started to regrow on her stomach, from where the Kargarok had sliced off an old scale.

Her mood lightened, and she felt gratitude towards the old Bio Baba. But in her mind, there was something that bothered her. She remembered someone fighting the Kargarok who had almost eaten her, but she did not remember who it was. She did not even remember any family at all.

She realized that something had happened to her memory upon entering the Lost Woods.

Suddenly, Ember bumped into a creature a little bigger than her.

"Buzz off." said the creature, as it turned to look at her.

It was a creature that looked like it was made of wood. It had two wooded feet and no arms, and its mouth was a long cylinder with a hole at the end. Its hair looked like it was a scrub, and two glowing red eyes stared down at her.

"What is a mountain creature doing here in the Lost Woods?" It asked, its eyes glaring with hatred. "You must be a trained monster! I, a loyal Deku Scrub, will not go into one of those bottles without a fight!"

"I-I'm not a trained monster!" cried Ember.

"Oh really," chuckled the Deku Scrub, "then what's with that human, huh?"

Ember looked around but could not see a human. "T-theres no humans around here." she said.

"Deku Blast!" yelled the Deku Scrub, and fired a glowing nut at Ember who was able to dodge it.

"Get ready for my special move!" The Deku Scrub shrieked. "Forest Artillery: Rapid Fire!"

Ember was pelted by the Deku Nuts and she quickly got a counter attack ready. Fire bubbled in her stomach as she was repeatedly smacked with nuts infused with Forest energy. She opened her mouth and yelped: "Torch!"

A flaming ball of fire shot out of Ember's mouth, directed at the Deku Scrub. The nuts in the fire ball's way burst on fire and disintegrated in front of the Deku Scrubs eyes. The monster attempted to dodge the speeding fireball, but it smashed right into the Deku Scrubs stomach.

The Deku Scrub went flying back and smashed into a tree.

"How are you so powerful, lizard!" the Deku Scrub shouted. "But I'm not just a Forest type. Pursuit!"

Two pitch black rays of darkness appeared out of nowhere. They were fired at Ember who met them head on.

"Mind Powers: Return!" yelled Ember, who grasped the rays with her mind energy, and fired it back at the Deku Scrub, who was able to dodge them easily.

"There was probably a psychic teacher at the mountain." grumbled the Deku Scrub. "Anyway, I now know you are a Flame type, so try to evade my finisher! Flame Finisher: Rumble Bomb!"

The ground shook beneath Ember, as Mountain energy burst from the ground and smashed right into her. Immense pain came to Ember as she was thrown back away.

Groaning, she rolled over and realized there was someone hiding in the bushes.

The figure stood up and threw something at Ember.

Instantly, she felt a pulling in her body, and she felt the ground leave her.

Then darkness overtook her another time that day.
