How shall I detail my journey ?

Should I start from the very beginning, when I first started on the path of wizardry, up till this path ?

Or should I narrate the next course of action that I undertook ?

What then ? Would it even matter ?

For I am the same Saruman, then, now, and in time to come.

~

I am the same Saruman when I first learnt the arts of wizardry from my mentor.

I am the same Saruman when I became White, and lead the council of wizards.

I am the same Saruman that betrayed the council, and made a tie with the necromancer.

I am the same Saruman, that went beyond White.

I am that same Saruman.

Now, I exist, in my study, a rope tied around my waist to a nearby being; one that has become no better than a mere animal, but whose name I shall, in time, bring light about.

And the dreaded fact remains that the dreaded ring still exists, and I have to fight against an old concept, in both the form of a ring, and some powerful being beyond my own power.

But should I desist ?

Should I resist ?

~

No, I'd say !

I must be strong, stalwart, and ready to fight. I shall equip myself with no more than my will to power, as I had told myself. I merely received a guidance, but the Way is mine own, my thoughts and beliefs shaped by what I wish and will for. The weak shall bow, the mighty shall rein, regardless of standing.

~

But the traveller is weary of my ramblings, and wishes to make best of what has transpired on these pages ?

I shall narrate, slowly, how it came to pass that I chose the path Beyond, and what came after.

~

I am Saruman.

Hear me speak.
