Clark is now graduated and decided to live in Metropolis. He lets most of the rest of the world rot (only taking care of extremely large disasters) but, protects the city of Metropolis from, the now evil Lex, as Betty. He has a job as a copy boy at the Daily Planet. His ultimate goal is to be a reporter, but the Editor in Chief, Perry White tells him he lacks the commitment because he is always late.
Lex is his arch nemesis as he would never forgive Clark for not telling him the truth earlier. He is also jealous of Clark as he catches Lois' eye.
Lois is madly in love with Clark but still dislikes Betty for throwing her 50 feet. Lois still hasn't figured out that Clark and Betty are one and the same; even though Clark, Betty and even Lex have all tried to explain that they are the same person. She still seems to refuse to see the truth. (Some reporter she is.)
