The night was clear. Stars were shining brightly in the sky. The brisk air made the night comforable. Now, and then, the wind would russel the trees causing leaves to drift off into the wind.

The clinic was no place to be right now. It was a beautiful night, and people should just be outside relaxing. But, for poor Megumi she had ten patients to tend to. This was going to take all night. Most of them were sick because of the sudden temperature change to fall.

She looked to the clock on the far wall, and it read 6:58. She sighed. Guess I'm going to be here all night, she thought as she began to clean a little boys cut up knee.

Three hours later around 10:00 she was finally done. She packed her stuff away exhausted. She sighed suddenly, as hunger took its tow. She began to look around the clinic for some food, but found that they still had to go to town. She been putting up going to town to shop, and now this was the affect.

"Yo, Foxy," someone said walking into the clinic.

By the startleness, she suddenly hit her head against the cabinet she was looking in. "Baka, why you coming in here scarying me half to death." She sat down on the floor looking at him. She noticed the bag in his hand. Was there food in it? Only one way to find out.

"I thought you would want some watermelon," he said.

She nodded her head, and they both went outside, and sat on the steps. He took a seat next to her, and handed her a piece of watermelon. She took it, and began to eat like no tomorrow!

"Geez, you must be hungrey them," he said with a chuckle.

A little embaressed she began to eat slower.

"Why are you here," she questioned.

"Kenshin send me here to make sure you didn't work yourself into exhausten'," he said then handed her another piece.

"In case you haven't noticed I'm a big girl dad," she said sarcastically.

He looked up into the night sky. "You'll pass out before eleven tonight. Look at you! You look as though you haven't eatin' in days, your eyes have bags under them deep enough that I could carry groceries in them, and you look as though you need a bath. No offense."

"I'm fine rooster-head I can take care of-," she collasped against hi shoulder in a deep sleep.

"Tsk, Tsk, shes in denial," he said as he picked her up. He walked into the clinic, and set her down on her futon. He covered her with the blanket, and went over to the door. Since the chill was coming in the house he closed the door tightly, and locked it. He went over to where Megumi was laying, and sat against wall. (You know how Kenshin sat when he was going to leave for Kyoto.) He looked around the room, and noticed it was clean.

He began to think: 'Stupid Fox. Always working till the earlying dawn. She should kick back, and relax before she comes sick.' He soon drifted off to sleep.
