decided to write a short fan-fic. Yeah....
Cassiopeia
Duo walked silently out of the deserted church, shivering slightly in the cold. His life had taken a sharp downturn ever since the death of his girlfriend, Leah. He had loved her more then anything. Even now, one year later, he could still see her sweet face, her dark blue eyes, and her warm embrace. He felt tears sting at the corners on his eyes. The feeling didn't suprise him. He had cried every night for her since her death day. He looked up into the sky, searching for his favorite constellation, Cassiopeia. The stars sparkled over his head. Duo collapsed on a bench near the roadside, overcome with emotion of seeing the constellation that he and Leah had first kissed under. Tears poured silently down his face, and he didn't try to stop it.
"Duo?" a soft female voice whispered. He looked up. But...it couldn't be......
"Leah?" he choked, afraid if he yelled he might chase her away. It was exactly the Leah he remembered. Standing there in her purple nightgown that she was wearing when she passed away. But she seemed to sparkle slightly, and Duo could almost see through her.
"Duo-chan...." she whispered warmly, touching her transparent hand to his cheek. "Why do you cry? This is not the man I fell in love with all those years ago."
"I miss you Leah-chan. I want you back." Duo said, feeling a happy bubble growing inside him. His Leah was here, right next to him.
"Oh Duo, do not weep for me. I passed away nearly a year ago. It is time for you to move on." Duo looked at her, amazed. Get over her? How could he do that? "I don't have much time Duo-chan. But there is something I need to tell you. I cannot be peaceful until you have found someone else. I know it sounds strange." She said reading the look on her Duo's face. "But seeing you like this, it hurts my soul, my spirit. You need to find the strength to leave me in your past."
"But how?" Duo asked, "How can I ever leave you behind?"
"Duo, there is a girl who cares for you as much as I ever did. She is the girl I want you to be with. I want to see you happy. I hate to see you cry. You know the girl I mean. Rei has been there for you. "Be there for her." she bent down and kissed Duo on the cheek. For a moment, the mark shone there, all glitter and dust. But then it dissapered, along with its giver. Duo stared at the spot where she had been for what seemed like forever. All of a sudden, he got up. He had made up his mind. He was going to talk to Rei. But he has barely gone 2 paces when Rei's hands covered his eyes.
"Guess who?" She giggled. Duo smiled. He realized then how much he cared for Rei, how much he loved her.
"I don't know." Duo said, still smiling. Rei spun him around and made a face of mock-hurt.
"Rei, you idiot!" she said, but she was smiling too.
"No it isn't." Duo said softly, "It's an angel." He wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed her full on the mouth. Rei melted. She fell into the sweet kiss, her spine tingling, her brain spinning. She felt her heart would almost burst with pleasure.
"Good luck Duo...." the wind whispered. They pulled away, looking up. Cassiopeia twinkled brightly over their heads, and Duo grinned. He had found Leah again.
