Crumbling, that's what it felt like
Like my insides were just caving in
Watching the ones I loved fight
With me standing on the side again

And a light of truth was emitted

I could feel that this was right
And I couldn't stop til the day was saved
I knew suddenly, that this was the end
That after this act I would cease to be
And in mere seconds I came to realize
This was the reason I had came to be
As the people I loved escaped
I stood still waiting for the end to come
But she stopped and tried to speak
Her eyes acknowledged what I had done
She tried to stop me
Allow me to walk away a man
The realization came with tears
And a I love you came with a hand
I had to lie to her
To allow her to walk away alive
To allow her to live her life
I had to finish mine in a lie
Her eyes were tearful as she parted
And I knew she knew I lied
But I couldn't stop this moment
