The smell of sewage entered my nostrils. I fumbled for my flashlight and dropped it as soon as the light was on. The small circle of light went out and as I bent down to find my flashlight, I heard something rustle behind me. With a soft click, my blade was ready to use. I heard the shuffling again, this time near my ear. I froze. It started sounding like a thousand moths flapping their wings at once. Something touched my arm and I jumped to a wall with a small shriek. There were no windows and I didn't have my flashlight. To put it simply, I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face. The shuffling started again, and I felt hot, short breaths on my face. There was the source of the sewage smell. Remembering the sword in my hand, I side stepped and swung the blade where I thought the creature was. I heard the sound of a tooth being pulled from the gum and an ear splitting shriek. I dropped the sword to cover my ears and knelt down. The screaming stopped and I grabbed my sword. The creature started moving again carelessly, it was bumping into things. I searched the ground with my free hand and found something round and metallic. It was the flashlight. I clicked it on and started to look for that creature. The small light fell upon what made me drop it when I first entered the room. There was a monstrous painting, too grisly to describe. I walked closer to the monstrosity and heard a low growl from behind me. I turn to see what it is, and drop my flashlight with a shriek.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is an English assignment. We had to write about a place where we would not like to be and SH3 popped into my head. I hope you enjoy this, and yes, it's a one shot. =3
