My Requiem
Rainbow lights at the break of dawn
Gentle footsteps of a newborn deer
Throaty echoes of lively birdsong
Crying that the spring is here
This I paid the price to leave
To never again see what I long for
It hurts so much, now to breathe
These old wounds are still so sore
Sunlight broken in by falling rain
And dripping tears of a bloodied red
Hoping to someday end the pain
And leave this world for the dead
.:Watching from this side of the Mirror:.
