Christina Finch-Fletchley woke up in an empty bed. She had gotten used to waking up in an empty bed since she was a year divorced at the young age of 26.
She had met Scott Fields at a school dance in her Year 9, at 13. She was immediately smitten with the dark haired boy and he with her. They started dating in year 13, at seventeen.
They lived separately while they went to university for three years. They moved in together immediately after they finished university.
The couple was engaged within a year. She discovered she was pregnant on Valentine's Day 1998 and they eloped immediately with a few witnesses such as her younger brother Aaron and Scott's cousin.
She gave birth to their daughter Bethany almost a month after she turned 22 on September 9th, 1998.
Bethany was perfect. She looked mostly like Christina's family with her curly blonde hair and brown eyes, especially the fact that had inherited her Uncle Justin's magic.
Justin had helped hide his niece's magic from his brother-in-law for two years but Scott eventually found out about his daughter's magic.
Christina was proud of her daughter for being magical, Scott didn't feel the same so he abandoned them a few days after Bethany turned 2.
Just a month later, she had discovered she was pregnant again but she miscarried due to the stress.
"Mummy!"
She looked up to see her now four year old daughter. She was a near carbon copy of her mother when she was younger.
"Uncle Justin and Auntie Eliza are taking us to a Quidditch game today!" she said excitedly.
Christina smiled. Eliza was Justin's best friend and girlfriend of four years. She was part of a famous family of Quidditch players but couldn't play anymore since she was injured in their third year.
Bethany was obsessed with the wizarding sport Quidditch and had just started collecting Chocolate Frog cards.
"I hope I see the best player there is Ginny Weasley."
For some reason, Justin found it hilarious that Bethany was such a big fan of Ginny.
"What time is the match?" she asked her daughter.
The little blonde girl shrugged. "When the big hand and the little hand are on the 2 and the 12."
"So, 2'oclock."
Bethany nodded. Christina got out of bed and scooped up her daughter.
Her parents were initially empty nesters but once she moved back home her younger brothers Aaron and Justin followed suit.
Aaron was two years younger than her and starting his first year as a teacher. Justin was the baby and the only magical one of the siblings. Christina and Aaron were incredibly proud of their baby brother.
"Morning, honey," Francis Finch-Fletchly greeted his oldest and only daughter.
"Morning daddy."
Despite being almost 30, she was still a daddy's girl. It helps that she gave birth to the only grandchild so far.
"Did you hear grandpa? Uncle Justin is taking me and mummy to a Quidditch game today."
Francis nodded. He was a big sports fan, especially rugby. It surprised people since rugby was such a rough sport and Francis was rather soft spoken.
The father and daughter worked well together so she had joined him in their family business of speciality pet stores .
Later that day, Justin, Bethany and Christina made their way to the Quidditch stadium. She was fascinated with her youngest brother's world.
They reached the stadium and walked in.
"Justin!"
He turned to see his girlfriend Eliza running towards them. Justin greeted her with a hug and a deep kiss.
"Eww," Bethany said, wrinkling her nose.
Justin pulled away from his girlfriend and wrapped his arm around her waist.
They began walking towards the seats but Benthany told her mum "Mummy, I need to go to the restroom."
"Okay."
"You should be back just in time for the match to start."
Christina led her daughter to the loo.
After that they were in such a rush that Christina crashed into someone.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," she apologized, her accent becoming more pronounced in her embarrassment.
"I'm in one piece, lass," a Scottish accent laughed.
She looked up at the man she had crashed into. He had big brown eyes and handsome, chiseled features.
"Sorry again."
"No problem, lass."
They went their separate ways and reached their box.
"Look mummy, there's Ginny!" Bethany squealed, pointing to a ginger woman.
Justin began chuckling as Eliza swatted his arm.
The Harpies won. Bethany was so excited that her team won and wanted to get Ginny's autograph.
As they were walking out of the stadium, Bethany spotted Ginny who was talking to a lanky redhead who must be her brother, he had his arm around a bushy haired woman and a dark haired man had his arm around Ginny.
Without warning, Bethany let go of her mum's hand and sprinted towards Ginny. Christina chased after her daughter.
"Ginny! Can you sign my chocolate frog card!" Bethany asked, peering up at the redhead hopefully.
"Effie, sweetie. What have I told you about running away?" Christina scolded her daughter.
The four-year-old looked up at her mum apologetically.
"I'll gladly sign the autograph," Ginny smiled down at the little girl.
"Will you?"
Ginny nodded. "So, what's your name?"
"Bethany."
"How old are you?"
"I'm four. I want to play Quidditch like you do when I'm older," Bethany said confidently.
"She's been obsessed with Quidditch since she was a toddler. I don't understand how since I'm not very athletic and neither was her dad," Christina laughed, fondly ruffling her daughter's hair.
"Auntie Eliza told me about it," Bethany tattled.
"There goes my secret," Eliza laughed walking over with Justin.
"Oh, Parkin," the bushy haired brunette glared at her.
"Now Hermione," the lanky ginger coaxed.
"Nice to see you, Justin," the dark haired man greeted.
"You too, Harry. I see you met my niece and that's my older sister, Christina."
Ginny finished the autograph.
"Thank you," Bethany said, hugging Ginny.
"Not everyone likes hugs," Christina told her daughter.
Ginny laughed. "You obviously haven't met our mum, she gives the best hugs."
"Thanks for your time, Ginny," Christina told the red head.
"You're welcome."
Christina walked away with Bethany.
"I'm sorry about running away from you mummy," Bethany apologized looking up at her mum.
"It's alright, sweetie."
They went back home.
