NOTE: Another story from me? I know, it's shocking. Anyway, this won't be a long one at all. Possibly just three chapters at most.
Anyway, the idea from this fic came from some fan art I saw on Twitter of what-if Pan and Anya met. I liked the idea so much that I wanted to write a short fic about it.
If you're wondering about the cross events between Spy x Family and Dragon Ball, don't think too much on it. Again, this is a short fic. This story does take place after DBS: Superhero, so expect some spoilers if you still haven't seen it. In regard to Spy x Family, this would be after the Cruise Arc in the manga. I won't mention it much, so don't worry about spoilers on that end.
Review and Enjoy!
Chapter 1: Saiyan x Telepath
"Anya!"
"E-eh, wha!?" Anya Forger exclaimed, caught unawares. Pink strands of her hair dipped over her face; a small trail of drool trickled down her chin. The telepath turned her droopy gaze to her best friend Becky Blackbell.
"Have you heard a single word I've said?"
"A-ah! Anya was listening!"
"What did I just say?" Becky deadpanned.
"Peanuts are good!"
"Not even close…" Becky sighed. Becky wondered what she was going to do with Anya, the smaller girl was a handful. Not that she minded that much, Anya is her best friend after all. "I was talking about the new transfer student coming in today."
"Transur?" Anya tilted her head.
"Transfer!"
"Tch, not surprised you can't even remember such a simple thing." A snobby remark drew both girls' attention to the desk behind them. Damian Desmond glared down at the two from his higher seat, his two henchmen sitting next to him. Becky returned the glare, while Anya just stared at him. Damian felt his heart race as Anya's eyes bore into him. "W-why does she have to keep staring at me like that!? T-those damn cute eyes of her's!"
"Cute?" Anya tilted her head as she read his thoughts. She never understood half of what was going on through Sy-on's head. Always so confusing! Oh well, all for world peace and stuff.
"Leave us alone, Damian. Don't you have babies to torture or something?" Becky huffed.
"Boss-man doesn't torture babies, Blackbell!" Emile defended Damian.
"Yeah!" Ewen exclaimed.
Becky gave the two an exasperated stare. "No one was talking to you two. Go off and be background characters somewhere else."
"B-background characters!?"
"Quiet down back there!" The stern voice of Henry Henderson echoed through the classroom. His declaration quickly quieted down everyone in the room, forcing the kids to give him their full attention. "Now that everyone has quieted down, I'd like to introduce our new student starting today." Henderson turned to the door. "Come introduce yourself, young lady."
Anya watched as a small girl with short black hair and eyes entered the classroom. She was dressed in the sample female version of the Eden's Academy uniform as Anya and Becky were in. "My name is Son Pan. It's nice to meet you all." Pan bowed as she introduced herself.
"Pan? What kind of name is that?" Ewen giggled.
"I bet her family is filled with weird names, right, Boss-man?" Emile asked Damian. The youngest Desmond didn't respond, choosing to ignore his companions to focus on Pan.
"Son? Where have I heard that family name before…?" Damian hummed in his thoughts.
Anya had a different train of thought. "Son? Isn't that what boys are referred to by their parents? Do her parents give her peanuts?" Anya's mind slowly drifted off to bags of peanuts.
Henderson stood behind Pan. "Young Pan here normally wouldn't be a part of our class as she is two years younger than the rest of you. However, her test scores were the highest we here at Eden Academy have ever seen in years! Such elegance could only be rewarded by moving her up in grades." As Henderson spoke, Pan fidgeted in her spot, blushing in embarrassment. "I hope that you all will treat her nicely from this moment forward." Most of the class nodded their heads, while some were staring off into space.
Anya was still thinking about peanuts.
"Now, where to place you…" Henderson scanned the classroom.
Becky raised her hand. "She can sit next to us, Mr. Henderson!"
"Excellent, Ms. Blackbell. You may take your place by Ms. Blackbell and Forger." Henderson said.
"Yes." Pan nodded her head and scurried over to their desk. When she made it over to them, she quickly took her seat and smiled at her peers. "Thank you."
Becky shook her head. "It's no big deal. We had an open seat and all. By the way, my name is Becky Blackbell and the girl still thinking about peanuts next to me is Anya." Becky nudged Anya. "Anya!"
"Huh?" Anya finally left her daydreaming. Anya noticed that Pan was now sitting next to her and Becky. She remembered what her papa had told her about introducing herself. "I'm Anya! My favorite food is peanuts!"
Pan smiled. "My name is Son Pan. My favorite food is bread."
"Bread? That's weird." Anya said.
"Anya!" Becky scolded her friend. Watching the two of them just made Pan giggle, they reminded her of her uncle Goten and Trunks.
While their shenanigans were happening, Damian still kept his eyes on Pan.
Pan walked alongside Becky and Anya to the cafeteria for lunch. Becky turned to their newest friend, wanting to get to know her. "So, Pan, what made you want to transfer to Eden Academy?"
"Oh, my old school suggested it. Something about them not being capable of matching me or something. Mama said it was because I was too smart, so they applied for me to transfer to Eden Academy. It reminded my Mama of my Papa." Pan explained.
"How so?"
"My Mama and Papa met, because my Papa transferred to her school."
Becky's eyes turned into pink hearts. "Woah! A love story about the new boy in school falling in love with the popular girl! It's perfect!" Becky gushed happily.
Pan stared at her, confused by Becky's excitement. "I guess." She turned to Anya. "Is she always like this?"
"Becky can be weird." Anya answered. "Do you like peanuts?"
"You really like peanuts, huh?" Pan smiled.
"Yes! Peanuts are the best in the whole world! Other than Bondman." Anya added.
"What's Bondman?" Pan asked. Apparently, that was the wrong question to ask, because Anya looked as if Pan had just killed her dog.
"You don't know Bondman!?" Anya got really close to Pan's face.
"N-no. Is it a snack brand?" Pan asked.
"It's the best show in the world! Super-secret spies and saving the world!" Anya exclaimed, excitedly. "Spies are the coolest!"
Pan shook her head. "I think superheroes are cooler." Pan's mind drifted off to memories of her papa parading around their home dressed in his Great Saiyaman outfit, and stories of him stopping crimes in his teenage years.
Anya's eyes grew wide as saucers as she read Pan's mind, also seeing the images that Pan was thinking about. "Her papa is a superhero!? That's so cool!" Anya had stars in her eyes as she imagined her papa and Pan's papa meeting each other. "That gives me an idea!"
"Pan! Anya's papa is super strong!"
"My papa is super strong too!" Pan responded.
Anya shook her head. "My papa is the strongest papa in the world! He's a super sp-Anya means-Anya's papa is just like Bondman. A superhero!"
"I thought Bondman was a spy."
"A spy and superhero are the same!"
"Nuh uh! Spies stay hidden while superheroes are always out and about!" Pan disagreed. "Which is why my papa is cool! He's a-I mean-he's just like a superhero!" The battle at the Red Ribbon base a few weeks ago flashed through her mind.
Anya gaped comically at the images that flashed through Pan's mind. Her papa had fought some kind of red bug thing! And other superheroes were there too! "SO COOL!" Her papa was so cool and strong! Pan's papa may just be as strong as her mama! They had to meet now! "If so then you should come to Anya's house! Meet my papa!"
Pan nodded her head. "Sure! I've never been to a friend's house before!"
"We're friends?" Anya asked.
"Of course. You're pretty funny and your papa sounds really cool!" Pan smiled.
"Anya thinks that your papa is really cool too!" Anya smiled back.
"Tch, don't tell me you're infecting Son with your babbling, Forger." Damian and his posse walked up to the three, dragging Becky out of her daydreaming.
"Ugh, Damian. Everything was much better before you walked over." Becky sighed.
Pan was confused by this rude boy. "Who are you?"
"You mean you don't know!?" Emile gaped.
"He's Damian Desmond! The 2nd son of the Desmond Family!" Ewen added. Damian put on his best smirk as he awaited the usual reaction.
"Never heard of you." Pan replied, bluntly.
All three boys fell over from shock at Pan's blunt response. Damian especially was put off by that, considering the one other person who ever reacted to him like that was staring at him dumbly. When he noticed Anya's eyes, another blush heated his face. Damian quickly got to his feet so as to not look like a fool in front of her.
Pan turned to Anya after noticing his red face. "Is he okay?"
Anya shrugged. "Sy-on boy is a bit weird sometimes. He might have to go poop."
"I don't have to do something like that, you fool!" Damian yelled at her.
"And he's mean too." Anya added.
"I'm not mean, you're just an idiot!"
"See." Anya ignored his cry.
"You shouldn't insult people like that. It isn't nice." Pan said to Damian.
Damian scoffed. "I don't have to be nice to peasants. You should understand the difference between us and commoners with your family history and all."
"Family history?" Anya asked.
"Are you really that dunce? She's the granddaughter of Hercule Satan! The strongest man in the world!" Damian explained. "Which means she's on a completely different social status than you!"
Pan shook her head. "That isn't true. My mama and papa have said that social status doesn't matter. In fact, my other grandpa was raised in the mountains and that's where my papa grew up."
Damian scoffed. "Tch, fine. Don't come crawling to me when you realize the right standing." He gave one last glance at Anya before scurrying away to the cafeteria with his companions behind him.
"He's a jerk." Pan said.
"Sy-on boy has his moments. Anya agrees he's a jerk though." Anya said.
"I still don't see what you see in him, Anya, but I guess that's the power of love." Becky sighed.
"What is she talking about?" Pan asked.
"I don't know. Anya is hungry for peanuts though." Anya hurried to the lunchroom so that she could eat her lunch.
"Mama packed a lot, so I should hurry up and eat!" Pan followed.
"Hey, wait! Don't leave me behind!" Becky chased the two down.
"So, how was your first day at your new school?" Piccolo asked Pan. He blocked a fast kick from her before shoving the kid away.
Pan rolled across the ground before standing back up. "It was nice! I made some new friends too! One of them even wants to meet my papa!"
Piccolo raised a brow. "Meet with Gohan? What for?"
"Something about her papa being cooler than my papa, because he's a spy or something like that." Pan said.
"A spy? What was that girl's name?" Piccolo inquired.
"Anya Forger. She's a bit weird, but super funny!" Pan giggled.
"Why exactly does she want to meet your dad?"
"I don't know. I mentioned superheroes and she suddenly got interested in having our papas meet. It's as if she can read minds or something. But regular people can't do that, right, Mr. Piccolo?" Pan walked up to him.
Piccolo nodded his head. "Yeah. Regular people can't do that. Go change your clothes and head home, I'm sure you have homework to do."
"Aw…Okay!" Pan hurried into his house to change out of her training clothes.
As she did that Piccolo stared off into the sky. "Yeah. Regular people can't read minds, but…"
Memories of his infiltration of the Red Ribbon Army base filtered into his head. During his quest he had stumbled upon a room with several files listing children that had been genetically modified in the past. One of the files had mentioned telepathic abilities.
"Perhaps this Anya Forger was one of the test subjects."
"ACHOO!"
"Oh no. Are you alright, Miss Anya?" Yor Forger quickly took a tissue to wipe her daughter's nose.
"You're not getting sick, are you?" Loid Forger asked from his spot at the table.
"Woof!" Bond barked his concerns.
Anya shook her head. "Anya not sick! Someone must be talking about Anya!"
Loid shook his head. "You don't sneeze just because someone is talking about you, Anya."
"Nuh uh! I saw it on Bondman!"
"Of course, you did…"
"By the way, Papa! Anya made a new friend today!" Anya informed him.
"Congratulations!" Yor was happy for Anya.
"Really, now? What's their name?" Loid asked.
"Son Pan. Anya thinks her name is weird."
"Anya! That's not nice to say about your friend." Yor lightly scolded her.
"Son Pan? Why does that name sound familiar…" Loid hummed in his thoughts. While he was happy that his daughter made a new friend, for the sake of his mission he needed to do a background check on Son Pan. If she ended up being a danger to Anya, then that would endanger Operation Strix.
All for the mission, of course.
Chapter End
NOTE: This won't be a long story with a deep plot. Just Gohan's family meeting the Forgers.
Anya thinking that Yor is stronger than Gohan is just her perspective, since she doesn't know how strong Gohan actually is. If the two actually fought Gohan would win obviously.
Just a small little idea I had that the scientists that experimented on Anya were actually from the Red Ribbon Army. Which is why I added the little tidbit of Piccolo finding those files. Will I expand much on that? Not really, unless we want Piccolo to give the Forgers a scare.
I hope you guys enjoyed this.
