Disclaimer: Don't own Beyblade. But a girl can dream, right?

Wrote this on a whim... I've been wanting to write a one-shot romance-type fic for Rei/Kai, but I've never gotten the vibe for it. I think this one is pretty good (for a person who's written nothing but humor) and I hope to write more if I get good reviews for this one.

Please, read and review... I NEED feedback on this story!

"Fine!"

That was the last thing Rei had said to Kai before slamming the door and heading out to wander the street.

As he plodded down the sidewalk, Rei began to notice that nearly everyone walking by was with their date/significant other/life partner. Why did it seem like he only noticed stuff like that after a fight with the person he loves?

Rei thought back to the reason he had stormed out of the house just an hour or so earlier. They were arguing about something about the laundry. For God's sake, LAUNDRY!

He knew he should have gone back to Kai, kissed him, and told him to forget about it. But something in him always caused him to carry out these petty arguments or fights for hours, sometimes even days.

"You'd think I would have learned by now," Rei sighed to himself, glancing around to see where he had let his feet lead him.

He found himself in front of a small cafe that was packed with couples sitting at spindly little tables staring at each other lovingly. He stared for a moment more, then turned and began walking again.

They argued about little things. Laundry and dishes were at the top of the list. But they always managed to get past them. Little quirks could grow to be loved, they just needed time to realize that.

Another sigh escaped Rei's lips as he thought about the things that made Kai so adorable. The way his hair matted to his head, falling into his eyes, after being caught in the rain. And the way Kai just gave Rei that glare when he laughed at him for it. And the way he kissed. Those kisses seemed to make the world disappear and everything seem right.

Rei glanced up to see a lone figure walking in his direction. The boy had his head down and had a jacket drawn in close around himself.

'Poor guy,' Rei thought, 'must have had a fight too.'

Rei watched him as he approached, squinting as he realized he knew that hair.

'Kai? Out here?' he questioned himself, watching as Kai advanced upon him, not sure if he'd even realized they were so close.

Just as he was about to pass Rei, Kai looked up and inwardly grinned. He stopped directly in front of Rei, silently laughing at the look on his face.

"What? Didn't expect me to come and find you?" Kai asked, moving closer to Rei.

"Not really. I figured you would just wait until I came back to you like you usually do," Rei replied. "But I am glad that you found me."

Kai smiled at this and took Rei into a warm embrace.

"Let's go home. WE have some laundry to do," Kai said, gently kissing Rei and leading him along down the street.
