AN: First things first: welcome new readers! Thank you for taking time and reading this! I hope you enjoy it!

To my returning readers, this isn't the big project I announced way back when. I actually wrote about 32 thousand words on another One Punch Man story, but in the end it all fell apart. I didn't know where I wanted the story to go, and I hit a massive writer's block. Because of that, I lost interest in writing altogether. One of those "Why bother writing when the story ends the same?" moments and I'll admit, it put me in a slump! In the end, I realized that my ideas would do nothing to change the story, and that my story would follow the exact same beats as the original One Punch Man, just with my OC in the mix. I truly felt no reason to write. But then I read a really really good fanficiton, "Unravel," by Homer's Disciple, an Evangelion fanfic, and it brought me out of my funk. Great story, I recommend even if you haven't watched the original Evangelion!

Next thing to address, college is here and it's been kicking my ass. Sadly, that's another reason why updates have been so slow (non-existent) lately, because I've simply run out of motivation and time to write after I deal with homework, exams, and more bs.

I feel like I wrote too much and no one will read this, but I figured I should give my followers and favorites the reasons why I've been gone for so long. "A Knightly King" and "Another Reserve Course Student" is still being worked on, don't worry, so keep an eye out for those as well!

Enough explanations, let's jump into this!

When he opened his eyes, all he saw was black. Then he realized he didn't have eyes. Then he realized he didn't have anything. No eyes, nose, tongue, nothing. He was just existing, with no body to contain his soul. He then tried to remember how he ended up like he did in the first place.

"Let's see… the day started normally. Woke up, got dressed, went to my summer classes. After it finished, I decided to take a detour through the nearby park because I wanted inspiration… and then what?" He tried to remember past that, but it was all a blank. "Hm. My memory seems to have been altered. If this was a story, then there would be few reasons. Theory one: I was killed and my mind is subconsciously suppressing my death. Theory two: some god or goddess did something to me, such as killing, tempting, kidnapping, or just tricking me into accepting, and got my memory wiped by them. Theory three: this is a horrible hallucination after getting attacked by a maniac of some kind, and my real body is in a coma." There were a few other theories, but the three he stated sounded like the most likely.

As he finished that thought, he noticed something: a faint light in the distance. As it grew closer and the white light began to overtake the black all around him, he almost sighed. "This white light seems to indicate that I am going somewhere, which makes theory number one and two more likely than three. I will most likely be summoned, reincarnated, or just dropped into a brand new world or situation." If he could roll his eyes, he would have. "How cliché."

The first fifteen years of his life was the same. Really, it was. The only difference was that he was in Japan. Well, that wasn't entirely true. His name was different, and so was his looks. Adam Suzuki-a half American half Japanese-was born in Japan. Shocking. His hair was wavy, gray, and reached his shoulders. His eyes were a cyan blue that reminded him of a taser's electricity. He had a rather lean body as well, and was average height.

The world around him was a little different, true, with popular shows being rip off names of the ones in his world, like 'Two Piece,' "King of the Molehill,' and 'Drag So Ball,' but none of them were a clear indication of where he ended up. For all Adam knew, it was just a parallel world with very small things changed. Hair color was more varied and humans were a lot more attractive, but almost everything else was the same.

As stated before, the first fifteen years seemed to go by with nothing out of the ordinary and Adam genuinely believed nothing significant would happen in this new life. Maybe an interesting character or two, maybe even a slice-of-life story once he reached high school, but nothing serious. He was a little disappointed at the lack of change, but figured that his dream of writing his stories wouldn't be affected, so he was content.

That is, until his family had to move.

Now, Adam loved his father and mother, but they were just so… "Adam, when are you going to give us grand kids?!"

...Whimsical.

They always did and said what their hearts desired, not caring of the consequences. So when he heard they were moving to a new town, he didn't bother to put up a fight. Whether he liked it or not, he was going to this new town. However, there was one small detail about the silly little town that finally clued Adam in to what world he was residing in.

Kuoh. He was going to Kuoh, and was being enrolled into an academy that went co-ed the same year he arrived.

Kuoh Academy.

He was filled with disappointment for a while after learning that. The entire trip of moving from Tokyo to Kuoh was a bit of a blur to Adam, as he was mostly lamenting about being placed in a pervert's wet dream. When he asked why they were going to Kuoh in the first place...

"Oh Adam, it's because it's such a sweet little town! There's plenty of things to do there, and it's the perfect place to relax! Plus your father got an incredible job! We're going to be rich!"

Essentially, he was forced into the plot. He wasn't even allowed to go to a different school, his parents demanded he go to Kuoh Academy. Why?

"Why son, I met your mother in high school! The fact that this Kuoh Academy place just turned co-ed means that there will plenty of girls for you to choose from!"

Yeah, he was in High School DxD alright. Which was a problem. For you see…

He just didn't like the show. He watched the first three seasons and gave up. While he could admit that Issei Hyoudou-the main character-was an interesting concept as a protagonist, he fell into the same traps that almost every single harem hero fell into: obliviousness and stupidity. That wasn't even concerning the rest of the problems about the show, but whatever.

The kid got what he wished for in the end, so maybe he wasn't as bad as the rest of the harem heroes, but the point still stood. Adam didn't like harem anime, he barely watched any anime at all. He was more concerned with making stories than consuming them. Back on topic though, he didn't like High School DxD. So, Adam decided to avoid every single character from the show he could remember. He wouldn't talk to any of them. Not Issei, not Kiba, not Rias, not Koneko, not a single one of them. They could go ahead and have their own little party and get-togethers and adventures, but Adam wanted zero part of it. Besides, he already knew plenty regarding all of them, so why should he even bother pursuing any of them? They were all just too…

"Predictable."

"Did you say something sweetie?" His mother asked as she made breakfast.

"No Mother, I did not." Adam replied, sitting at the dining table. It was his very first day at Kuoh Academy, and he was waiting for breakfast.

"Alright sweetie, if you say so." She flipped the final pancake and placed it on a plate. "And breakfast is done! I made pancakes, bacon, eggs, and a nice cup of orange juice! I know how much you like western food, so I decided to make your favorites as a congratulations!"

His mother was only about five feet and four inches tall, and had long brown hair and cyan blue eyes. He nodded to her as she handed him his food, "Thank you Mother."

She frowned and yelled, "No! Call me Mom! Or Mamma! I'm sick of you saying 'Mother' all the time! It's like you don't even love me!" She grabbed herself and wiggled in place.

Adam frowned but complied. "Yes… Mom."

Before he could react, his mother glomped him. "Ahhhh! My little Adam-kun! You're such a sweetheart, I love you so much!"

He cared for his parents, really, he did. But God, they were a handful.

The rest of the morning passed without incident, and Adam finished his breakfast and was on his way to the Academy when he began to think. Would it truly be wise to ignore the main story? After all, this was a real world, not fiction. There was a chance devils weren't even in Kuoh. Adam frowned at the thought. Actually, shouldn't he try to interact with the main cast as much as possible, to change the status quo? By ignoring the story, he wouldn't be changing anything. He would just be a background character, or at best a side character.

Then again, if he ignored the main story, he would be able to do what he wished, finding inspiration in places DxD never mentioned. He could travel to Kyoto and discover the places and people Issei never did, dissect and examine the supernatural underbelly of the place. Yes, that would be a fascinating thing to do. Even better, he could return to Tokyo and search for the supernatural there. Sure, it's a little predictable to have a familiar place be seen under a new lens, opening up a whole new world, but the things he may find with the knowledge he had would surely give him some delicious inspiration.

However, if he actively jumped into the story, he could change everything. He could change how certain interactions would play out, he could flip the already established script on it's head, he could do anything.

He could let Rias and her peerage die by assisting Kokabiel.

He could steal the pamphlet Rias's familiar gave to Issei so he would never be turned into a devil.

He could start another Great War if he wished.

Adam had to admit, those thoughts were very appealing. How inspirational would that be, to see the Three Factions start a war that shouldn't have happened in the first place? He smiled. Yes, changing the story sounded extremely enticing. Like scissors cutting the rope, Adam could make the puppet that was the main story fall to the ground and make a story of his very own, free from the restrictions the original author had placed on the world. Yes, he liked the sound of that a lot.

However, Adam was no fool. For all he knew, this could be a universe where devils don't exist, or God was still alive, or some other crucial piece was changed or removed. Really, the options were limitless. Who knew what would be different or go wrong?

So, the best option at the moment would be to simply gather more information. Adam loved a good story with twists and turns, but there was no point in dying while trying. With his decision now made, he pulled himself from his mind and focused on reality once more, and just in time too, as he was in front of Kuoh Academy.

Just by first glance, Kuoh Academy was… "Predictable." If one decided to look up the term 'rich kid school,' Kuoh Academy would be one of the first results. Large brick walls around the entire campus, the building itself looking a little old fashioned, maybe Victorian? Well, the details didn't matter…

Wait, was that really true? Was it truly acceptable to brush over the details of one of the main settings of the entire franchise? After all, wouldn't the readers not have a clue on what the Academy even looks like? What about his own story? Would he be so dismissive towards the settings he himself would make?! And if so, was that a good thing or not?! Do readers even try to read the details of what a location looks like, or do they just skim through descriptions?!

Without hesitation Adam whipped out a pen and notebook and began writing these thoughts down. "Fascinating, to think I would discover something so intriguing in a place like this!" As he continued to stand in the entrance area of the Academy writing in his notebook, more and more people began to take note of him. Mostly girls, actually. In his peripheral, he noticed that there wasn't any other male around except for him, but he quickly dismissed those thoughts. He needed to write!

"Suzuki-san?"

His attention was caught, unfortunately, but Adam felt satisfied in what he wrote, and if he needed to he could always come back and write more. He looked up from his notebook and saw none other than Sona Sitri, or as her human name was… "Souna Shitori, yes? The Student Council President?" Damn, there goes his plans to stay completely uninvolved.

She raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Yes, that is correct. And this," she gestured to her left, "is my Vice-President, Shinra Tsubaki."

Adam blinked and realized his mistake. "Ah, my apologies Shitori-san. I tend to forget about Japanese customs due to my father and his work. Shitori Souna, it is a pleasure to meet both you and Shinra-san." How troublesome. He never did like the way the Japanese added suffixes at the end of names, but he had to deal with it.

The girl nodded, her neutral mask not breaking. "Yes, I suppose it's understandable. I assume you're wondering why you specifically are being called out?"

Not really, but now he was. "Yes, I am. Did I already get in trouble? I would hope not, as I had just arrived." He withheld a sigh. Must he have to participate in the story? That would be bothersome and… "Predictable."

The Student Council President narrowed her eyes and raised an eyebrow. "Predictable, Suzuki-san?"

Adam blinked. "Oh, did I say that out loud? My apologies. I didn't intend to say anything offensive, I was just..." He trailed off. He couldn't exactly tell her what he was thinking, he'd sound crazy or the woman in front of him would do everything in her power to make him spill. Worst comes to worst, she might attempt to seduce him with her-

Wait.

Had he forgotten to say what Sona and Tsubaki looked like? He recalled everything that just happened, and yes, he did. He didn't describe a single detail about either of them.

A thought struck. Would the readers care? Yes, if someone was to read his life like a story, would anyone not know how Sona and Tsubaki looked? Wait, that doesn't even matter! He dismissed descriptions because he was already familiar with the people, but to anyone reading, they wouldn't! Adam silently cursed himself and pulled out his notebook and pen and started writing once more. "How could I be so foolish…?"

If he was planning on making an actual story, he mustn't skip over details such as how a character looks! Even if he, the author, already knows what the character he introduces looks like, the readers wouldn't have a clue! He finished writing in his notes and turned his attention back to the President and Vice-President, who were currently looking at him with curious gazes. "Suzuki-san?"

He flipped the page of his notebook, clicked his pen, and began to analyze every detail of the ladies in front of him. They were part of the DxD cast after all, so he would be foolish to skip over details of semi-important characters.

First off, there was Sona Sitri. She had short black hair in a bob-cut and a single white hair pin behind her left ear. Next were her eyes, which were violet and were currently covered by a pair of maroon-rimmed glasses. The rest of her face was pretty standard in terms of descriptions. She had a small nose and mouth, slightly pale skin, her ears were average, and her overall facial structure was round with a slightly pointed chin, like an upside down raindrop.

Sona, for her part, was getting visibly confused. "...Suzuki-san?"

Ignoring her, he continued his analysis. She had a rather slim figure and a chest that was on the smaller side, but there was still a noticeable pair of bumps that was under her uniform. Next he turned towards her lower half. She had a slightly thinner than average waist with an incredible pair of legs that accompanied it. They were long and slender and her outfit-the standard Kuoh uniform-seemed to enunciate her legs perfectly. Overall… "You truly are a beautiful person, Shitori-san."

There was a sudden silence that overtook the courtyard, but Adam paid it no mind. He immediately turned towards Tsubaki, who was visibly surprised. Her mouth was open and her eyebrows were shot up, but Adam ignored it and began to analyze her. Like Sona, her hair was black. Unlike Sona, her hair was so long it nearly went past her knees, and she had split bangs as well, which seemed to put focus on her hetero-chromatic eyes. One light brown, the other violet. Her eyes themselves were sharper, both slanting towards the center of the face. She had a pair of glasses as well, except they were rectangular compared to Sona's circular, and were colored a cyan blue.

"Your glasses are the same color of my eyes, Shinra-san." He noticed, his face in front of hers. "I approve."

Ignoring her heavy blush, Adam continued his analysis. Small nose and mouth, pale skin, an upside down raindrop facial structure like Sona's, and her ears were covered by her long hair. Moving downward, he began to look at her body. Tsubaki was thicker, that much was obvious. While her body was still slim, there was more 'meat on the bone' so to say. Bigger chest, slightly bigger waist (yet still attractively small), and thicker thighs. Once more, the academy uniform enunciated Tsubaki's long supple legs, just like Sona.

"You are very attractive as well, Shinra-san." Once more, her face lit up like a tomato, but Adam paid it no mind. He put his pen and notebook away and turned his attention back to Sona. "What is it you need from me?"

There was a mixture between confusion, amusement, and embarrassment that flashed on Sona's face before she schooled her features. "Ignoring what you just did, I had come to tell you about your… unique, status."

A thousand different scenarios flashed through Adam's mind, but he didn't enough information to come to a solid conclusion yet. "Unique?"

The President nodded, "Indeed. As you know, Kuoh Academy has changed to co-ed, meaning that it accepts boys into the school as well as girls."

Adam nodded again, a frown on his face. "Yes, I already know this. Are there not enough male restrooms or something of the sort?"

She shook her head, "No, there aren't enough boys. By that, I mean that you were the only male this year that Kuoh Academy accepted."

Adam narrowed his eyes and began to think. There was a relatively difficult test to enter the Academy he took, yes, but there were at least four to five boys in each classroom when the series began, right? How could he have been the only one that had passed the requirements? "Am I special in some way? Did the administrator play favorites with me? I recall doing nothing out of the ordinary."

This time it was Tsubaki who spoke up, "You were the only male that passed the test that every student must take to enter. Combined with the fact that this is the first year Kuoh Academy has decided to go co-ed, there simply wasn't a lot of males that wished to be apart of Kuoh Academy."

Adam absorbed the information silently, already brainstorming plenty of ideas as to why something changed. Or was it something that happened that wasn't covered in the story? Wait, no, he was a first year here. "Does it start next year…?" His eyes opened a little as he realized his slip and turned to the two ladies in front of him, who were looking at him with unreadable gazes. Adam cleared his throat and asked, "So Shitori-san, is there a problem with me being the only male here?"

She obviously noticed the subject change, but decided to go with it anyways. "Due to you being the only male here, you will have some… leeway." She visibly cringed but continued, "Of course, you must still have acceptable grades and attend classes, but I have been informed that due to you being the only male here, if you do something… unsavory, you will not be punished as much as one normally would."

Unsavory? Adam narrowed his eyes. Unsavory could mean a multitude of things. He began to go through every single possibility that Sona could have been hinting at. Making bad food? Dressing in a ridiculous manner? Flirting?

Then he remembered what universe he was in and sighed. "Shitori-san, you have my word that I will not peek or harass the ladies at Kuoh Academy." He put his left hand up in a show of peace. "In fact, I have zero intention of causing any trouble. I have much more pressing matters than wondering what the female body looks like without clothes." He looked past the two ladies in front of him and stated, "As a matter of fact, I still need to find out what classroom I belong to." He gave the two a short bow and said, "It was a pleasure meeting you two, but I'm afraid that I must now go." Without another word, he walked past the two and began to write in his notebook once more. He needed to write every revelation he had as soon as possible, and Sona and Tsubaki had distracted him long enough. While the two of them did help him realize something, they were also the ones that initially pulled his attention away in the first place. He just hoped they wouldn't bother him anymore since he already informed them of his intentions. He was a busy man after all, and he didn't want anything to be a… "Waste of time…"

"Waste of time..."

Sona narrowed her eyes at the retreating Adam Suzuki, the only man who passed the requirements to entering Kuoh Academy. Admittedly, she made sure that every single male applicant received an incredibly difficult test that she was confident no teenage boy would've been able to pass. The thought of some perverted fool getting into Kuoh Academy and being exempted from expulsion because of his sex irked her extremely, so she planned on making sure not a single male got in. She didn't feel guilty about it either. No one got hurt and she got what she wanted, so all was fair.

"Well, he's an interesting one," her Queen muttered.

Sona nodded, "Yes, he is." Except a single man had gotten through. Sona looked into his background to see if anything would stand out, but surprisingly, nothing. Adam Suzuki was the single son of married couple Michael Rivers and Aki Suzuki. Their son however, was a prodigy. He had received nothing but straight As from his first assignment to his last, not a single one falling under 90%. He was a child prodigy. Did he have some sort of Sacred Gear that passively increased his intelligence, or was he truly that smart? "Tsubaki, did you sense anything?"

The Vice-President shook her head, "No, I didn't. Either he has an incredibly weak Sacred Gear, or he doesn't have one at all."

"I see." Then there were the words he muttered. 'Predictable?' Was he already anticipating something? 'Being foolish?' Did he make a mistake somehow in his introduction? Was he hiding something? He had muttered about something starting too, was that a part of whatever he was thinking about? "Tsubaki, have your familiar keep an eye on him."

She nodded, "He is a very suspicious character, isn't he?"

Sona continued, "He kept muttering odd phrases, almost as if he was having an entirely different conversation in his mind. There is a chance that he is a threat."

Tsubaki gave a small smile and asked, "Is that so? It's not because you're upset that he thought this was all a waste of time?"

One of Sona's eyebrows twitched. "Do it as soon as you can, Tsubaki."

"Of course, President," she said, amusement tinting her voice.

Yes, Adam Suzuki was a very interesting person.

AN: There's the first chapter of my new (and final for now) story! First things first: this was torture making. I had written like, five different stories before I settled on this one. I wanted to write a story in High School DxD, yet I didn't want it to be super generic or anything, so I just started adding a bunch of different gimmicks to it. First was a character that didn't want to be involved in anything, then I made it a crossover with a game franchise I love, then I made that crossover a CAFE STORY oh my god nothing stuck.

Then there was the whole "how the hell is this even gonna work?!" moments, and then I finally settled on Adam. This is the second time I wrote this specific version of this story too, as the first version was a Gamer version. I wrote like a paragraph the size of a page just dissing on Gamer stories and how basic they are as a joke, but when I started writing the stats, I realized just how hard it is to writer a good Gamer story. So, my hats are off to you Gamer authors, you are a lot better with numbers than me.

Finally, regarding news about my scrapped One Punch Man Story, "A Knightly King," and "The Reserve Course Student."

Do you guys want me to just upload my One Punch Man as a one-shot? It's over 30k words long, but it's all just one chapter, and it ends right before the MC starts getting frisky with his first girl (it was supposed to be a Harem Hypnosis smut story).

A Knightly King is going very slow, and I'm thinking of watching/reading Black Clover from the start to remind myself why I love the series in the first place. I'm just really struggling in writing what to do next, as well as writing anything related to Black Clover at all.

Finally, The Reserve Course Student is going slow, but good! I've been taking my time writing it, but progress is still being made! In fact, I'm going to be writing more of that story after this one gets uploaded!

Really long Author's Note, but I really needed to give everyone an update on what's been going on and why I've been taking so long. To all my new readers, thank you for checking this story out! Give me your thoughts in the reviews, all of them, and if you like the story, don't be afraid to Follow and Favorite it! Reviews, follows, and favorites really inspire me to keep writing!

Thank you for your time and have a good one!
