To whomever reads this,
We are the ones, who built this world. This safety that people enjoy isn't because we have good relations with the rest of the world, its because despite the odds, we weren't around when the worst of human nature was. Nature will tell you very quickly that the weak don't last long. Its a process that helps the theory of evolution, and its called Survival of the Fittest. According to that law, we should all be dead. Even a Wizard can't control fate. We can only bend it a little. So we did, we doused a few fires, made a few people fall in love. Then something happened that we did not intend.
From the very beginning, we kept our blood pure. We knew quite rightly, that magic in the hands of those who had not been brought up in the right environment was dangerous. We were also wary of letting the others know of our existence, for despite the stories in the modern textbooks, thousands did die for their magic in the witch burnings. Then some time in 1100, a wizard called Mary Anne was caught while traveling in southern Germany. That was the vital mistake. She was lost, and since then, half-bloods and even those with no discernable connection to magic have been cropping up. They will be our downfall.
The Wizarding world is obsessed this this superiority complex. They have it all wrong. magic makes us weaker. I wizard subject to torment and torture is much more likely to break than those not. Wizards rely to heavily on their magic to do ordinary things. Magic's original perpose was to preserve its self. Wizards live to phenomenal ages, hardly ever get seriously ill and have automated magic reactions to pressure. These things were the first to develop.
The next thing to cover is the myth about the torture of non-magic people. There are a small band of people born in the last 50 years or so, who have never live through an oppression of magic. These are the only people who would dare get involved in such a dangerous activity.
Another myth, is that of the perpose of the Dark Lord's army. Many wizards (often those with non-magic heritage) are told that they only wish to create havoc and replace the well-functioning government with a dictatorship. They are wrong. Their main goal is to stop those with non-magic heritage (more than one-eighth) from having access to the magic world.
Finally I would like to say that, the modern Wizard is arrogant and misinformed. If The Boy Who Lived survives, and we lose, this text should be burned, for no one will listen to those who lost their battle. In fact, in the event of any discernable victory, this is useless, for the people shall either be for or against it and there will no longer be a need to hide it and treasure it in secret.
Regards,
Lord Malfoy,
Duke Parkinson of Everdon,
And Several Other Great Households.
[notes at the bottom, left by various readers]
That would explain a lot.
Thankyou father for explaining everything.
I agree.
Copy and Return.
Will do.
[two alternating handwriting styles]
What on earth is this?
I found it in a library book.
WHAT?
Yeah, must have been left by a Slytherin
Do you notice some holes in this, like that Voldemort is a half-blood?
Yeah. Though it could well be right about the other stuff.
True, but look at the signatories!
I know. Since when was Malfoy a Lord? Or Parkinson a duke?
It could be Lucius' father.
True. Got to run though, McGonigal wants me at her office at 10.
Again?
Yep.
