A week after leaving the land of Wano, the Strawhats continue to sail the unpredictable New World waters in search of a new island to drop anchor on. News of the new emperor of the sea spreads across the world like wildfire and the awakening of Luffy's fruit has the World Government up against the strings. It was big news and everyone was excited about how these strong winds of the new era would make a huge change in the world.
On the seventh day they found a deserted winter island. Still, adventure always called to the ship's captain so everyone, except the musician and the helmsman who stayed behind guarding the ship, headed for the island; looking for anything that was of interest.
They split into four groups; Robin and Chopper would search for medicinal plants and any signs of history related to the seemingly deserted island, Franky and Usopp would search for materials needed for their inventions and the Sunny in the jungle of frozen trees seen on the mountain top, Luffy and Zoro would search for wild animals to capture as food supplies and Sanji would stay glued to Nami's side watching over her as she took notes to map this new island she didn't quite recall.
Even though they were separated for a few hours they were soon driven back to the identical spot, reassembled again now with a few supplies.
"Robin" began Nami "have you found anything about this island? it all seems so confusing" she was looking through her notes.
"This place" mumbled Robin looking deep into the iced mountain. Chopper was frowning as he sniffed. Nami looked at them, they were acting a little odd "Why does this mountain of snow feel so-" He couldn't finish what he was saying because suddlenly Luffy slammed his haki infused fist down hard on the ground where they were standing. All the ice cracked from the inside out from the bottom of their feet to the top of the mountain.
"Luffy! What the hell?!" shouted Sanji expecting an avalanche to come either way and grabbing Luffy by his collar. His strawhat hiding the look on his face. He was being strangely silent.
"Oi, ero-cook" called out Zoro looking at the results of what Luffy caused " Hey! You wanna fight shitty marimo!?" Sanji let go of Luffy, now focusing on Zoro who just pointed at. Sanji watched as did all of the crew in awe as behind all the snow and frozen layers was what appeared to be a laboratory.
"Vegapunk..." It was time for Franky to speak "Surely this is one of Vegapunk's abandoned labs" Usopp's legs were shaking and not because of the cold "I don't think it's a good idea for us to go in guys; what if we run into other monsters like those pacifistas or worse? We don't know what that guy is capable of..."
Sanji lit his cigarette, taking a puff of air and exhaling it slowly "I don't think we have any say in this" he stated as Luffy started to walk in, still pretty serious and quiet "besides... the pacifistas?" he made a cocky smirk and put out his cigarette "you're still afraid of them after all?" Usopp swallowed saliva and watched as Robin followed by Chopper, Nami, Zoro and Franky started to enter the lab behind their captain.
He shook his head putting on a serious and brave expression "W-what are you talking about? I-I am the brave warrior of the seas Captain Usopp!" he pointed to himself proudly and Sanji smiled.
"Let's go in then, brave warrior" Sanji said mockingly and kicked Usopp to enter the lab.
What kind of wonders would they find inside?
