d a r k:
the nothingness
...void
time never existed here
It stutters.
A moment, was it?
No. Years and years
they flew and yet they paused
and left millennia in their wake.
Did I exist?
Once.
I don't any longer.

THIS ISN'T EXISTING!

tell me
please.
what the sun looks like?
I remember deserts
and heat
and reflections off of dunes
and warmth
and rays
that never existed here.

d a r k:
the nothingness
... void

Touch!
A glimmer, a glint of gold
this-- this eternal cold
it's warm!
Hues of fire,
amber licking at solid brass.
This! This is fire!
But I don't burn.
safe.
surrounded...
but I've always been, right?
Seeing, feeling...
am I complete?
no.
Tight.
I hear a clatter
clatter
click
and it's tight
around my heart
like an embrace.

Years
no, moments?
Indeed, years have flown.
I've felt you
you've grown.
As have I.
There's a connection
I feel it
it's between you and I.
You keep the dark from closing in on me
from enveloping me again.
I feel hope in every clatter
Hopeful clatter
clatter
click!
I will wait another thousand moments
for your final embrace.
For that final clatter-click
that makes me whole.
But I'll never forget---

the nothingness
... the void
...before you...
