Chapter three Knuckles went back to the ruins that used to be Eggman's lair to find out what had happened to the Master Emerald. He drilled into the ground to see if maybe the blast had pushed it underground. Unfortunately, nothing was found accept what looked like the dead carcass of Eggman. Knuckles shuddered.
'That is just freakishly freaky!'
All of a sudden something in the pile of rubble moved! It was obviously about the size of Knuckles, could it be Rouge? Sonic? Amy? Tails? On the other hand, could it be Shadow?
'I am extremely freaked out! Someone or something does not want me here at all! Okay, I will just drill into the ground and figure out who or what this person or thing is.'
Knuckles did just that. He continued to dig until he bumped into something. He immediately jumped up from the ground and was in the face of Rouge.
'You are still alive Knucklehead!'
'Well gee I was looking for something more along the lines of 'Knuckles thank heavens you're alive!'
'Okay, thank heavens you are alive! Are ya happy now?'
'Yes'
There was a package in the hand that Rouge had behind her back.
'Hey, what do you have in there?'
'That is completely none of your business!'
'Fine, forget I asked then! And you know what,'
'What?'
'Do you hear that, gasp? It is the sound of no one caring!'
Rouge had obviously had enough and buried back into the ground.
'I will never understand nor try to understand girls. Humph! They are just a waste of my time!'
'I heard that Knucklehead!'
'Why you, I'll give ya ten seconds to start running!'
What was in that package? Knuckles thought to himself, could that be the Master Emerald? Hmmm.
