Disclaimer: Do I own LOTR? *cries* nope. Do I want to own LOTR? yup. But any original characters belong to me, not Tolkien. The plot is mine- at least I think it is (though there are a ton of the 10th member of the fellowship' stories) but I think besides that I was pretty creative. I repeat LOTR is not mine- it all belongs to the Tolkien family.

Note: Arwen isn't Elrond's daughter . . . she is just a female elf (I didn't know who to make her parents, so I'm not going to bother saying) so sorry to any people that like her. Other changes in the real story line are also on purpose.

When Hope is Lost

When the peoples of Middle Earth defeated the Dark Lord Sauron, they were again deceived by his cunning. For the being that was destroyed that fateful day was not the Dark Lord himself, but an illusion. The being behind the armour was no more than an Orc under a glamour. The real Dark Lord was hidden away, safe in his castle. What no one knew, however, was that Sauron was a human. A human with magic (for he had never been trained as a wizard). Thus the Dark Lord was still very much alive, even with the power of his great ring gone (for the ring was one thing an illusion could not fake). So Sauron enshrouded himself in crystal, where he would sleep until the true object of his desire was near. This object of power was an elf- an elf even more powerful than Galadriel and Elrond combined. Though the elf in question had yet to be born at Sauron's supposed fall.

It was in the year 2505 of the Third Age when this powerful being came into existence. But a mere four years after her birth, she was out riding with her mother when they were attacked by Orcs. The child's mother was brutally attacked, but she was rescued. No one knew what happened to the small girl known as Celebithil. For months there were elven search parties combing the land for her, but she was never found. Her mother never truly healed from that day, and left Middle Earth to see if she could find a semblance of peace in the West. She left her husband and twin sons behind. Her sons, who at that point were 2379 years old, vowed to hunt down and kill every orc that they could. Elladen and Elrohir, as they were named, still hoped that they would someday find their baby sister once again.

Little did anyone know, in 2509 of the Third Age, a small elven child was found wandering in the woods by a couple hunters. The men took her to the village of Bree, where she would come to be known as Serenity, if only for the fact that she was the most serene little angel that the men had ever seen. Little Sere became a daughter to all those in the village, which would bring her so much pain in her future. She would watch family after family die as she barely grew older. It seemed to her as if she would forever lose everyone she cared about. She stayed in Bree for about 513 years, for in the year 3018 of the Third Age, a party of persons who would forevermore change her life arrived at her home.

So, what do you think? Is it original enough? Should I continue it? Review!!!!
