He let himself fall back onto his bed after taking one last walk out to his
balcony and watching over the city he grown to hate and love; he let his
head collide with the softness of his pillow and relax a moment in the
comfort of it. He closed his heavy eyes to cut out the face of the world
and the picture of his old and worn face and fell into a long awaited,
forever sleep.
When he opened his eyes again, he felt young, he ran a hand through his hair that was jet black again and looked around. All he saw was surroundings in only black and gray, fuzzy and misshapen figures walked about in front of his eyes. It was dark and he could feel his eyes straining to see who the figures where and where he was, when before he could adjust a streak of color cracked into the darkness.
It was she, bright like a hovering angel coming towards him, straight out of the gates of heaven singing.
Framed in red and gold
Made of porcelain and sapphire
Given the smile made only for you
And the voice of an angel
Make a wish and there I'll be
Bringing you bubbles of sunshine
From far away
She was exactly what she said she was, her hair was a red as the finest rubies and it framed her face over the gold heavenly light that shone out like the sun from behind her, she smiled at him and her eyes blue as ocean sapphires were all he could see. She hadn't changed a bit since he last saw her.
He reached out, wishing her to be near, he was lifted up by her voice and longed and ached for her touch, but she was far away and kept on singing.
You are lined with silver, bound by poetry and love
Depicted as enchanted, compared to Orpheus
Residing in the Green Fairy
While trying to run from her
Come into my realm, here I am
I can take you into our fairytale
Forever if you like
He needed nothing more. He ran, as fast as he could towards her as she didn't get further away as he'd feared, only closer, closer. He could feel his love for her pumping through his veins again and he could see the Green Fairy behind him as he ran, closer and closer.
He was there, but an arms length away, he stretched out, his fingers calling and then. He was blocked, there was something lying between them, he was determined to get through as she continued singing.
You're determined and bold
And I have delicacies and imperfections
Mixed with the world's naivety and idealism
Makes a good combination
Let's meet halfway
Your ideals and my realities
We can go wherever we like
She moved for the first time when she was singing, coming to the place where he was blocked off from her, she'd meant it when she sung lets me halfway. She had a smile on her face, which told him everything would be alright, she moved closer to him and touched her hand up to his against the thing that was blocking them.
It disappeared, their hands fell through and intertwined and he stepped through towards her, taking her other hand all in one motion. They kissed for the first time in years; both had been aching for it, aching for one another's touch.
They pulled away and looked out at what lay before them. They could go wherever they liked.

Well there you go. Kind of simple and different to other things I've done, hope I haven't made it to weird and hard to understand, I started it off as Christian still young and only a short while after Satine's death and he would be just dreaming, but when I figured out the ending it fitted better if he was old and died. so I hope you all enjoyed it and as always, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
Oh, and this is Dedicated to Jess, out there in the world somewhere traveling. Miss you mate.
