Hello! I know this is weird considering that I have two different stories unfinished but this new season is great! It gave me a lot of inspiration and I couldn't resist, besides I read this cool comic from a guy called Morning mark or something (I think it was the same guy who made the alternate future for Svtfoe). Basically in that AU (Spoiler warning, plz go read the comic in tumblr, it's called witches among humans) Luz is a wild witch in the Boiling Isles and everyone else is a human, she ended up on earth and is basically a superhero! It also uses the beta designs so they are like 17 but unlike many beta fanfics Luz's personality is the same.

The usual crap:

If you could send me a review that would be great! (not that I´m forcing you), all feedback is appreciated!

English isn't my first language , please tell me if you spot any mistakes!.

Disclaimer: I don't own the owl house, all the characters belong to disney and Danna Terrace, the AU's idea came from morningmark's comic.

:The Emperor's coven vault/ June 23rd 6:30 PM:

A lonely figure stood on the rooftop near a massive building, covered in a purple cloak from head to toe and crouched in silence. There was still enough sunlight to see their silhouette but the positions of the shadows were in the right angle to cover them from the civilians bellow and it seemed that was clearly the figure's intention: they creeped around and jumped stealthy behind walls to avoid being detected, always making sure to be covered in shadows, once they reached a certain point they stopped and looked across the street.

A huge walled castle erected in front of the village's buildings giving this whole place a gloom aspect, sentry towers surrounded the entire perimeter and white cloaked guards partoled around in perfect synchrony making sure that no one got in or out, for the looks of it most citizens avoided the entrances to the place, as if the figure needed other indication that this was the place they were supposed to be an enormous golden sign read: Emperor's coven personal bank and vault DO NOT ENTER.

"Pfft, idiots" said the figure putting down her hood, long dark brown hair fell down revealing her face, she had dark skin and brown eyes "Let's see I have five minutes until end of the guard's shift and this was the tower's blind spot, everything is in order so calm down!"

"Are you talking to yourself again?" a spectral sounding voice asked.

"Aghkjpf!" The girl yelped from the surprise and almost tripped, then she got up and assumed a defensive position "Who? What? Where?"

"Your belt Luz"

The Girl searched her coat for a while and then pulled out a glass sphere, what was weird about this is that the light of the sphere reflected the unamused face of a woman with black hair.

"How? Didn't I tell you to not call me like this?"

"The boss wanted me to check on ya, hold a sec… hey Reine Luz is doing the thing where she talks to herself again!" the aforementioned girl blushed

"No I wasn't shut up!" she quickly looked around to see if someone heard the commotion "You do know this is a stealth mission right?"

"Give me the crystal ball dear" another voice appeared and the image in the ball shifted to an older person with cyan hair "sorry about that Luz but we were getting worried for you, do you have everything you need?"

"Yes, Reine I am ready" she whispered, looking around more anxious than before.

"That's good and you know what to do right?"

Before Luz could respond to that there was a movement that caught her eye, the guards were suddenly moving in a different pattern, the ones in the sentry towers were going down their posts and the ones at the doors were leaving, she realized that this was the guard shift she was waiting for and she was about to miss her time because of the call.

"...and remember is very important that…"

"Sorry, gotta go now, I'll talk to you after the mission is done!" she said before leaping from the building.

"Luz wait!" But the girl turned off the crystal ball and summoned a staff.

-Luz-

"Bah Reine treats me just like her new recruits, but I've been doing this for ages when I was alone" Luz thought to herself while she flew with her staff near the walls in an effort to not be seen by the guards below "I know I just joined the bats but I'm no newbie, this is my chance to prove them that I am a capable witch!"

She flew until she was just below one of the sentry towers, quickly she created a plant glyph and jumped from her staff into the air. A vine appeared from the glyph and she used it to swing into a tower's open window, she extended her hand and her staff came flying to her.

"Now let's see, if I remember correctly…"

:Fifteen minutes later:

"This was a bad idea This was a bad idea This was a bad idea This was a bad idea!"

Luz decided that she was going to take vacations after this, because there was no way that her heart could keep up with all of these near death experiences, that could not be good for her blood pressure. She was doing fairly ok dodging the guards and keeping herself hidden but once she arrived at the part of the castle that had the vault there was a commotion at the door, it seemed like some guards were in disagreement over which one of them stole the captain's lunch and that discussion shattered Luz's plans: She was counting on the guard shift to move around but thanks to this silly argument they stood there like morons. Now instead of having to worry about two guards at the entrance there were six together.

Luz didn't think it was a big deal, she just had to make an illusion glyph of the captain (who Luz had seen before while searching the place, she knew they had a long braid and a spear) and order them to leave to buy her a new lunch or whatever. She managed to do the spell right and at first it was working because they started moving away from the vault's door, but then the real captain appeared and wanted to know what was happening here. At the same time this happened Luz had been sneaking in the background and moving closer to the door while trying to remain unnoticed, but of course at the second the real captain sees her illusion she destroys it with a spell, then she starts looking around and spots Luz immediately.

There wasn't time to cast a spell even, she just vaulted over the closest wall and summoned her staff so she could fly out of there. After a few seconds of confusion the guards started chasing after her and sounded the alarm.

"Oh come on of all the things that could ruin my plans it had to be a discussion about lunch!"

Right now she was flying over what looked like a garden area with lots of trees and bushes that she used as cover, she zigzagged through them to avoid the spells that her chasers were casting at her. One fireball passed through her head and she stopped just before a light force field could trap her, meanwhile her brain was thinking of a way to get out of here as fast as she could.

She considered just running away and calling quits but she already could imagine the faces of everyone back at the B.A.T.s headquarters, how they always underestimated her and never believed any of her stories. She could imagine Raine with their worried face and treating her like a baby, or not allowing her to go on any solo missions anymore.

She could imagine them all and she didn't like it one bit.

She stopped her staff and turned around.

No.

She was going to show them.

She was going to show them all that she belonged.

Luz dropped to the ground and peeked around the corner, as soon as she did that a barrage of elements appeared in front of her but she deflected them all with a force shield glyph and then fired a giant fireball that knocked out most of them, while they were still trying to regroup she casted an ice spell to freeze them while they were still in the ground. The captain and some of the guards managed to dodge that by jumping out of the way, but even if they were free it didn't matter because now Luz had a clear path back to the vault.

"Sorry!, better luck next time!" she called to the captain while shooting a light beam at her.

She leaped into owlbert once more, flying as fast as she could towards the vault hoping to get there before the guards had time to regroup. She passed through the gardens while alarms and shouts were going off in the distance but she paid them no mind, instead she flew towards one of the columns near the vault's door and started searching for something.

"I got you!" After a few seconds of searching Luz turned around and saw that the captain had managed to catch up to her, some of her clothes looked burned from her earlier attack but overall she was fine "Give it up now wild witch! There's nowhere for you to go!"

Luz raised her hands and looked around her in one desperate attempt to find what she was looking for, finally she found it: a rune that looked like a shield on the side of the closest column.

"Oh no, please be merciful!" she said, hiding a smirk inside her cowl.

"After I'm done with you, you'll beg to be petrified!" and then she lunged at Luz with her spear.

Not wasting any movement she dodged to the side and rolled in the ground to avoid her attack, Luz cased a plant glyph towards her opponent and pressed the rune that she saw at the same time. Immediately three different things happened:

1) An energy shield started forming around the vault, Luz knew that once fully formed it was going to prevent anyone from entering so she stepped inside.

2)The captain was trapped with the vine spell she launched and was pinned against the wall.

3)Another soldier from the emperor's coven, who was way bigger than the others, managed to jump past the energy seconds before it completely formed and punched Luz in the face so hard that she recoiled.

Luz rubbed her face to ease the pain and tried to get back up but brick walls emerged from the ground and prevented her from doing so. Some shouting indicated that the rest of the guards had joined at the other side of the wall and were trying to break through the field to no avail, she could have celebrated this but her face hurt too much for that.

"C-Captain are you ok?" asked the big guy while he went towards the trapped guard.

"W-wrath? What are you doing here? this isn't your spot" the long braided captain said.

"Oh you know, when I heard the alarm I had to make sure that my little flower wasn't hurt"

"Oh shut it!" the woman tried to get free from the vines restraining her to no avail "Urgh! just help me get out of here, dumbass!"

"Oh o-of course, anything for my little flower" Wrath said and kneeled beside her while the captain kept grunting at him.

Luz rubbed her cheek and started thinking frantically, on one hand she had managed to isolate herself from most of the coven guards, on the other hand it seemed like the two most dangerous people here were stuck with her, fantastic. She decided she was going to risk it all with one move, it was way too late to stop now.

"Hey if you two lovebirds over there are going to keep flirting, could you wait until I'm out of here? it's kind of awkward…" she said, hoping they would take the bait.

"Oh uhmm, is that obvious? Ha ha…"

"We are not dating you idiot!" said the female captain and proceeded to kick the big guy in his leg.

That was the chance that Luz was waiting for, she quickly casted a spell to break free from her prison and shot an ice spell to the big guard, not bothering to look if it hit or not she dashed to the vault's door. Once in there she pressed a rune in the side of the wall to open the gigantic metal door and as soon as she was inside Luz pressed a similar rune on the other side to close it.

The screams and swears coming from outside the door told her that the other two were still imprisoned, but she assumed that she only had a few seconds before they broke free.

"Come on, come on! I know you are over here" she thought while searching the walls near the door for something, it was really dark so she had to use a light glyph to see.

Finally she found it: a rune that was similar to the ones used to open the door, but it was red instead of blue and it had some symbols that reminded Luz of a lock. Pressing the rune made the entire wall shake and rumble while some mechanisms were activated, judging from the sounds coming inside of it. Finally shiny magic glyphs covered the entirety of the door.

"Yes!" she jumped with triumph.

More screams from outside and banging sounds told her that the other two were free and trying to get to her, but it was no use: she had activated a magic lock on the door, and considering how much the emperor tried to protect whatever was inside of this vault Luz was willing to bet that it would be almost impossible to take down that wall.

Luz released a breath she wasn't aware she was holding and leaned against the wall, oh sure the coven guards could go and get a special key for the door, but it would take them time and she was planning on using that time to complete her mission. Now that she wasn't in immediate danger she looked around with the first time: even though her light spell only allowed her to see within fifteen meters or so she could see it was a chamber that looked to be made of grey cobblestone with golden details, symbols of the emperor's coven adorned the walls and a lot of desks filled with papers on top of them, but everything else was pure blackness for her.

"Ok let's see what's the big deal about this place!" Luz said and made her light spell bigger to illuminate the room further.

It was enough to reveal most of the room: she could see that it had many stands filled with enormous statues and artifacts of different shapes, the edges of the walls were covered in golden blocks and banners with the emperor's coven symbol were everywhere and piles of gold were deposited on the floor.

"Huh… Somehow I expected this to be bigger" Luz said to herself as she examined the room "well nevermind that, time to work!"

Luz started looking around for a specific thing, it would be impossible to take all of the relics from the vault without being stopped by the guards, especially in her current situation, but luckily she was here for one thing only. The artifact that the B.A.T.s assigned her to recover was called the plane shift staff, it was supposed to have great transportation powers: capable of opening portals between locations the user knew about in an instant and it did not require much magical energy to function, which meant that almost everyone could use it.

Eventually she found and separated all the staff looking items and put them in a separate pile, there were at least ten but she had something to make this quicker.

"Come on, where is it?" Luz said while searching in her bag "aha! there you are"

She pulled out a descriptive drawing of the staff that her associates had gotten in the black market the other day, with that she was able to find the staff: it was mostly made of white wood and a black handle, the most notable thing it had was a light blue gem at the top that reminded Luz of a tear.

"Huh, so this is the plane shifting staff? It doesn't look like a big deal…"

"True, but in hindsight neither did you" Said an annoying voice behind her.

Luz turned around quickly and attempted to fire a spell towards whoever said that but she was too slow, some kind of red energy wrapped around her and suddenly she couldn't move. The energy then made her levitate in the air and knocked her against a nearby wall with great force.

"You know I considered doing that the second you got here" The annoying voice continued "but then when you started looking for something I figured out it was better to find out what you were after, and wow, the plane shift staff? We didn't even know this was here!, good job"

Luz focused her eyes and saw her attacker: They were wearing a common white robe from the emperor's coven with a yellow tunic below it, black pants, a golden mask that resembled a bird and a golden shoulder pad.

"Go… Golden guard" Luz struggled to speak, and now she recognized this as a paralysis spell which meant she was in trouble.

"Oh so you recognize me? I mean of course you do!, I'm going to be the new head of the emperor's coven after all, I must be all you wild witches gossip about right?"

"N-Not quite…" Luz said with a pained smile "It's hard to ignore all the pro-propaganda with you all over the city, se-seriously how much money did you spend on that?"

"Oh yeah, don't remind me of those damned posters…" he said with a dismissive wave.

"What are you going to-to do?" she said, trying to get the words against the spell "Why didn't you ki-kill me?"

"Oh we are not doing that" He said laughing "in fact you actually did us a favor by coming here, now we won't have to move you"

"Wha" Luz was getting tired every second that she passed in the spell and talking was getting difficult "What do you mean by that?"

"What do you think they are doing here?"The golden guard said, pointing to the statues filling the room.

Except now that Luz was looking at them closely she noticed that they weren't statues: they were way too detailed for them to just be decoration, also all of them had an expression of horror in their faces.

"Mhmm yeah I think you are going to be a fine addition to the collection" the golden guard said, stepping closer "In fact I think you'll look splendid in that corner over there"

Luz gasped for air when she realized what he mant, every single statue was a petrified wild witch: It was common knowledge that petrification was the punishment reserved for those who went against the orders of the emperor and his desired coven system. Usually the petrification was done in secret and the remains of the witch were never found, but in some cases they made a public petrification in front of a whole town and left the wild witch statue in a public place to make an example, such cases were rare but it happened whenever a powerful wild witch or demon was captured.

That's what happened to Luz's mom.

"HEY YOU COME AND LET US IN! I know you can hear us!" came a voice from outside the vault.

*sigh* "Those two, give me a moment"

When the golden guard walked away from her in order to open the door Luz knew she had to make her move. It was really hard to move when the spell was paralyzing not just her body but her mind as well. It made her feel as if she hadn't slept in months, but she had to stay awake... because she might not wake up if she didn't.

"I'm coming, it's okay, everything is under control…" The Golden guard said while he searched for the opening rune in the door's frame "I got her so you two can- UMPH"

As soon as the door opened the bid guard threw himself over him while the long braided captain launched herself with a flying kick.

"WHERE IS SHE!"

"Uff I got you little one, are you okay?"

Luz was thankful for the distraction and realized that when the golden guard was knocked down the spell weakened. Using all her might she managed to draw a glyph to end the spell she was on, then as fast as she could she created an illusion that made it look like she was still surrounded in the golden guard's red energy and made herself invisible.

"Ugh! Get out of me you big moron!" cried the golden guard from underneath Wrath "I'm FINE!"

"Oh sorry about that" Wrath got up and released the boy "I was just looking out for you, you'll never know what these wild witches can do…"

"I had it under control!"

"Where is she?" the captain walked over to the golden guard and grabbed him by his tunic to lift him up "Where is the wild witch!?"

"Gah! calm down she is over there" he said pointing to Luz's illusion "I already told you guys I had it under control"

"Hmph yeah sure"

Luz managed to get behind a drawer that was far away from them and released a breath she had been holding for the last couple seconds. She started looking around to address the situation, the three guards were at the opposite side of the room and seemed distracted talking to each other, the plane shifting wand was on the ground with all the other staffs and her illusion was still active.

Luz took a long breath and considered her options: she could certainly run away but it would be like admitting defeat and Luz noceda never did that!, she could try to grab the staff and flee but there was no way she would be unnoticed if that happened.

"Whatever I don't care if you are the emperor's golden child, you are still below us in rank kid" then the captain moved towards Luz's illusion.

"Wait, what are you doing?"

"This scum over here made me embarrass myself in front of my men in that stupid chase, and now she is going to pay for it"

"Hold on!, the law states that every wild witch that is found must go to trial for petrification"

"Oh and she will be petrified, but I think that she could use fewer fingers for the trial, after all she is not gonna use them anymore"

Luz knew she only got a few seconds to decide what was going to be her next move, without hesitation she slowly got closer to the pile of staffs while she was invisible.

"The emperor will hear of this, Abigail" said the golden guard but made no other attempts to stop her.

"Pff, it's not like he's going to do something about it" she advanced towards Luz's illusion "now where were we?"

She tried to hit the illusion in the stomach with the blunt end of her spear but it just passed through it. Luz knew that she only had a couple of seconds for them to react and she wasn't done getting the staff, so she started casting a spell.

"What the?

"Hey over here!" Luz screamed trying to get their attention.

She became visible and flashed a very potent light spell towards them without giving them time to react. All three of them were knocked against the wall and she was willing to bet that their vision would be blurred for a couple of seconds, this was her chance.

"GET HER DAMN IT!"

Luz ignored the screams and just bolted towards the staff. She grabbed it and quickly casted an ice spell to make sure they stayed in place but Wrath just elongated his muscles and broke through the ice with just one punch.

"How did you?"

"You can't blind someone who has goggles!" Wrath said, touching the yellow lenses that protected his eyes.

"OH Titan… time for plan B I guess…"

She started firing spells to keep him at bay while she held the plane shifting staff with one hand. When they were planning this she asked Raine why they didn't simply use the staff to bring everything inside the vault to their headquarters, but the older witch assured her that using a magical artifact for the first time was a dangerous thing to do, it could end terribly for her and especially if it was a high level artifact like the staff.

But now Luz was out of options.

"Please!" She begged the staff while channeling her magic into it " I just want to go home!"

A sudden light started emerging from the staff, it was small at first but it grew bigger.

"Stop her!" said Wrath, who was caught in a wall of fire from Luz's spells.

"I got it" The long braided captain managed to get out of her stupor and blasted a magic beam towards Luz.

Luz managed to dodge it but she didn't see the golden guard teleporting behind her until it was too late, he managed to knock her down with a swift kick and grabbed the staff in one motion.

"You are not going away" Said the golden guard.

"Nice! Now bring her here so…"

"Wait, is it supposed to do that?" Wrath interrupted, pointing at the staff.

The light never stopped growing and now in the hands of the golden guard it had become obvious that it was about to do something.

"Turn it off!"

"I… I don't know how!"

Suddenly the staff emitted a loud screeching sound and a portal appeared on the ceiling of the vault, it was big enough to cover the entire room and it started pulling them towards it.

Then all hell broke loose.

Phew! ok I did not want to make this introductory chapter so big but I couldn't cut it in half, the other chapters will be shorter and don't worry there will be lumity but it will be kinda slow burn-ish.

Also if you are wondering about this: Whenever I mention that Luz uses her glyphs I do not mean the paper drawings but rather magic circles she draws in the air that have the shape of the glyphs from the show, kinda like doctor strange.
