I look into his eyes. Glittering pools of blue shockingly bright against pale skin. My fingertips run over his freckles, moving over his cheeks, his nose, his bare shoulders. He smiles at me in the way that only I get to see. The smile that speaks of the secrets we hold in this room and of his hunger for me.
Our lips meet and as my eyes close it is that smile that I see in my mind. His hands trace over my back as the kiss deepens and I am falling into it. Into him.
This is how it is every night. We somehow find time to be together. All else fades away and we are all there is left of the world. We cling tight to one another in fierce embraces and gentle whispers. There is a war waging outside, and when morning comes we will return to the fight. But for now, this is all we need. All that exists.
We are matching pieces to a puzzle, fitting together perfectly. We are tow souls, linked for an eternity by life and love. There is nothing more perfect than this. To lose him would be to lose myself.
I have never been vain.
But I know that my reflection is beautiful.
