Disclaimer: I own nothing of The Lost Boys.
AN: This is not going to be super long. I've hit writers block with Eyes of Medusa. As for Government Experiment, that is one that I write on whenever the fancy strikes.
PROLOGUE
1987
It is June16 now. If I was still fully human, I would have turned 22 years old today. It has been almost 6 years since I have met The Lost Boys and David had turned me into this half human/half vampire. I hate him so much for doing this to me. I feel so helpless and alone in all of this. Why me? Why did he choose me? I ran away from my abusive parents so I could have freedom but now I am more a prisoner than I have ever been before. I cannot even see that sun anymore. It is getting harder and harder to resist the call of blood. I can smell it in my sleep now. The vampire inside of me won't allow me to just end my miserable existence. I pray that God hears me and send me help before I give in to the blood calls.
I almost did this evening on the boardwalk. I began to lure this sweet young man away. David stopped me. I have no idea why he did, but he stopped me from riding off on Michael's motorcycle. But then he tricked Michael into drinking the tainted blood wine. I tried to warn him but after the tricks David had played on him, needless to say, Michael did not believe me when I had spoken up. Oh, I have this terrible gnawing feeling that poor Michael is going to end up hurt. This is going to end very badly.
I am sorry to say that I have to end my page here. I can hear David and the other's back from wherever they have drug Michael to. Farewell until I can write again.
-Star
"Huh, that's it?" a female's voice said.
She continued to flip through the old leather-bound book. Her Uncles had found it in an old cavern. Apparently, this was a cave that had been made by an earthquake that now had the ruins of an old hotel inside of it. This cave was also supposedly the home of the local urban legend of vampires. Her Uncle Edgar had warned her profusely to stay away from the cave. It was the burial ground of vampires that her father, Sam Emerson, and her uncles Edgar and Alan Frog had buried The Legendary Lost Boys after they had destroyed them when they had been teens. It was a load of poppycock in her opinion. Her dad was nowhere near that cool. Now Uncle Michael was. He and Aunt Star lived in Luna Bay with her cousins, Shane, Chris and Nicole. They owned a surf shop. Uncle Michael was a famous supplier and both Chris and Shane were famous surfers. Nicole and Aunt Star were into swimwear design. So yeah, that was pretty cool in her opinion.
"Josie?" Aunt Zoey's voice called up the stairs into the attic above the book shop she and Uncle Ed ran.
"Yeah?" she called back.
"Is Ed up there?" she asked.
"No ma'am. Just lots of boxes he, dad and Uncle Alan brought up. There's so cool stuff in here." she said.
"Alright, just be careful not to turn anything over. No telling what they've brought up." Zoey retorted.
Josie continued nosing through the crates and boxes. She came across one with more books. Not anything personal, legit books. Then she found some old posters and mixed in was some sketches. They were amazing. They were scattered throughout the box. Carefully she laid them together and continued to sift through. She found another leatherbound book that look very old, older than the other one. Then she found a book being held together with yarn. It was where the sketches had originated.
MARKO
She murmured the name almost sweetly.
"Dinner's ready!" Zoey's voice called up the stairs.
She had startled Josie and she bumped over a crate. It didn't turn fully over but it did open. She took a gander inside to make sure nothing had broken. All that was in there was hay and some cloth. Curiosity was ready to kill that cat when her father's voice came up the stairs.
"Coming!" Josie said and headed for the stairs with one last look over to the crate.
AN: And that is it. I am going to make this great.
